@@pennynickels5216 I would guess.......between 40 and 50. But I dont know really. if he got more than that I would be totally shocked. But people only look at what they see not what they dont. They might overlook the package tray area thinking it was just some hammer work. But I think it was hit from behind pretty bad. then sort of milled over. A restoration guy will make a big deal out of that. I would put my money on one already done for 100 to 150. would be cheaper. I saw an early 23 58 or earlier go for under 100 at the auction that was literally perfect. Just need to be patient.

You and me both. Bus prices left me in the dust many years ago. Crazy what they are going for these days. Happy New Year. JC.

Yeah exactly I don't know why somebody would do that when they can buy one already done for like $130. I've seen several for that price or even less.

IM not so sure on that asking price. Think it is extremely high for that. I would guess once it is stripped down for resto your going to find some serious work to be done there. From the looks of that firewall, I am guessing there would be some really bad filler stuff on there too. No disrespect but I would figure getting about half that asking.

It will be interesting to see what it sells for. First offer we had on it was $55K earlier this week. Guess we’ll see what happens. It might just get tucked away until the right buyer comes along. JC.

@@Volkswear wow that is around what I think it would be worth to someone who hasnt stripped one down. IDK we shall see.

@@pennynickels5216 there is a but for every seat. It did sell. Problem is people look at what they see not what they dont. that part in the rear tells me there is some serious damage back there they will find when they go to restore it. and they could just buy one done right now for less than what it will cost to restore that one. Probably someone just cleaned it up and is driving it like it is. with no clue what is underneath that rear section. IMO hit in the rear pretty hard and seriously covered up pounded the package area as best they could and threw some new parts all around it.

1963 was the first year for the larger turn signals, and I believe also for the larger rear window. And it was also the last year for the vista windows and corner windows. And I think it was also the last year for the sunroofs on buses, as I have never seen metal sunroof’s on ‘64s and newer buses, unlike the bugs. I love those white wall tires on that bus! And those jail bars are very rare, I understand. That ought to be a nice decent restoration project for whoever buys it.

62 was the first year for the larger tail lights/front turn signals. 63 was the last year for corner windows in German Buses. They widened the hatch in 64 which didn’t allow room for corner windows. The skylights and sunroof continued until 67 as a “21 window”. JC.

No way 75k.. it's a nice bus but it needs a frame up restoration.. I'd bet there are all kind of hidden expensive surprises under that paint.. I'd say it's probably worth 45k -50k
