BF4 was a cross-gen title so some limitations probably carried over from the last gen of consoles to the PS4/Xbox One. Frostbite is still amazing though for a shooter game.
PUBG is still base UE4. Frostbite on the other hand have been specifically designed to support large scale warfare (64 player matches) in first person and with vehicles. In other words, the Forstbite team have optimized their engine towards the gameplay they wanted.

Maybe the reason they close eyes I’m BF1 is because they thought closing an eye was better in the past but now they know not to and that is why they don’t in BF4.
I'm not sure about sniping, but with red dot sights, it's much better to have both eyes open since you will get much better periphery sight, as well as seeing distance easier.

With some scopes, you don’t have to put your eye right up to the scope so you can look through the scope with both eyes from a short distance and glance up from it for perspective. With some scopes, you have to put it right up to your eye, in which case you’d need to close the other eye.
Anzack As mentioned before, most of the times nowadays it's a bit frowned upon to close one eye, since it absolutely destroys your peripheral vision in the process. Just kind of a tactical no no. But if your eyes are weird, and you can't see through the scope properly with both eyes open, it still works closing one eye, just not ideal that way.
Captain Eggcellent I'm not even ashamed of admitting I -wasted- spent 1000 hours into it! I even got most DLCs. Such an amazing game. EDIT: By the way, great comparison. It's the little details that gives the most flavour.
battlefield 3 was by the best in terms of sound a pure gravity. explosion in that games was much more worthwhile. grenade launcher was even more destructive and sound scary as fuck. bf4 noob tubes feels like a kids toy.
One thing that always amazed me is the detail in eyes in battlefield 4. Using a 20x scope you can see how detailed the eye is on another player. Even the flash of a gun reflects on their eyeball!
Love the attention to detail in BF1, especially how your character interacts with others when asking for ammo, health. sometimes you'll exchange whole sentences. heard one yesterday when asking for ammo... "Need some ammo!!... my guns F**cking jammed here!". Never heard it before so I'm surprised when I hear see new things after a year
Honestly, the crater with the water is much better in bf4 than bf1 imo. The water has realistic looking physics and reacts to the explosion plus it doesn't have that weird wave texture on the ground that bf1 has.
I never played too much of BF2 so i wouldnt be able to tell, I loved BF3 and BF4 alot though, historic war and futuristic war games are kind of getting old for me
BF2 is still my favourite Battlefield game. BF3 and BF4 are both great games, but there's something about BF2 that makes me want to go back to it every now and then.

Just a quick correction, yes you're recommended to keep both eyes open when shooting with iron sights, but you actually CANNOT look into a scope without closing one eye, the picture will not come through! The idea behind keeping both eyes open is that you focus on your front sight and have more depth of field, but a scope puts one eye at the mercy of tunnel vision, and so the other eye needs to be shut otherwise your brain will be unable to focus on the magnified picture, and you will instead see the front of your gun through your scope. Just thought I would clear that up. Edit: Since people are debating this in the comments, before anyone tries to reply with armchair general knowledge, know that I have a scoped rifle, and I tried it when writing my original comment. It's impossible and simply does not work. All I could see was my barrel moving around where the picture should be, in layman terms I could only see HALF of what the scope's picture had to offer, and actually, even trying it for about a minute, my eyes hurt now... When you are looking for the slightest movement in combat from 400 meters away, it sure makes sense to have 100% of your magnified picture, and not 50%! If you feel spooked, it only takes a second to break from the scope and take a quick glance around you.
I think having Female soldiers is a massive insult, im not sexist or anything I’m just saying that throughout history Millions and millions of men have given their lives in wars, we should be celebrating and respecting their sacrifices, yet now in our modern fantasy world, gender politics unfortunately take centre stage, it’s sickening!

Essentially there’s just one big plane of water that is even underneath islands, so when the explosion goes deep enough, water becomes visible and that bit of water is the same bit of water that’s connected with every other spot of water on the map.
At around the 5:00 mark, the reason this happens is actually because the entire map has a layer of water underneath it, and blowing a hole in the ground exposes the water layer - not because the water is flowing inward. I believe Defend the House did some sort of experiment that showed this. I don't blame you though, it would make sense.
Just pointing it out, WW2 was created by sledgehammer games, while black ops 3 was made by Treyarch. It’s worth noting that SHG is still the youngest developer of the 3 currently working on COD.

An attention to detail i notice non of the games do, i know it would be more frustrating than anything which is why its not included, but just the fact a gun can get dirty and not jam. I think a jam mechanic for someone whos always spamming prone would be interesting concept.
CoD: remakes the entire way of How the engine works with a lot of techniques and methods that Frostbite can't use to this day. People say that the developers are very lazy and haven't been updating it since the last decade. BF: 2018-has better tessellation, effects, textures, PBR, and better GI compared to Battlefield 3 from 2011. People say that it brings innovation eith every game that uses it, and that it can show one of the best looking graphics out of all the engines. Interesting, I'd say.
I'm pretty sure the sea water filling holes isn't intentional, the water plane goes under the terrain like in most games, so when it is deformed you are just exposing the plane.
I realized a couple things on Battlefield 1 comparing to Battlefield 4, first, it might sound senseless and stupid but battlefield 1 colour is far more varied than Battlefield 4 and the most significant I can point out here is that you pretty much got no fps drops when something blows up near you, you can witness uncountable explosions and action and yet, the game still runs smoothly.
Don't know why people are comparing BF1 and BF4 and having so many cancerous arguments over which is better. You want the best WW1 game ever made, go play BF1. You want one of the best modern games ever made, go play BF4.

Even though BF4 has a sharper look and BF1 has a muddier look, BF1 looks significantly better. BF1 has some minor issues but you can't deny the game still looks freakin' amazing, on top of that it's well optimized and looks good on all platforms. The historical inaccuracy is really not a big deal considering how detailed the game is, how good it looks and how fun the mp is.

when you make a video about the graphics in a game and how far they have come but you use a xbox one and record bf4 and bf1 in 720p. and if someone says "well it isnt in 720p because its says on the video 1080p 60fps." the game can only be played at 720p on the xbox one.
I mean, I play BF4 because it's 4 years old and still insanely fun. Most randoms my friends pick up in Rainbow 6 Siege and other games still play BF4 over BF1.
BF4 a lot of the times has higher resolution textures. If you crouch or get up close you will notice. You can especially see it with walls(bf4 walls have better textures most of the time)
Bf4- Players who are mostly teens and adults who like to have a good time. Bf1- Players who are also teen and adults but kids managed to join just because of cod infinity warfare, i normally see that when i play with these laddies- they don't have any other battlefield game. Bf4 has better bullet decals. In bf1 if you shoot walls and fences every gun makes same kind of destruction. But in bf4 theres a difference. Pistols machineguns etc all leave differend kind of sparks, dust,depris...Also in bf4 it has bullet penetration, you can shoot trough thin walls etc, but in bf1 theres none.

CoD: remakes the entire way of How the engine works with a lot of techniques and methods that Frostbite can't use to this day. People say that the developers are very lazy and haven't been updating it since the last decade.
BF: 2018-has better tessellation, effects, textures, PBR, and better GI compared to Battlefield 3 from 2011. People say that it brings innovation eith every game that uses it, and that it can show one of the best looking graphics out of all the engines.

The grenade thing is more logical for bf4. I mean who would scream after throwing his own nade?
I'm pretty sure the sea water filling holes isn't intentional, the water plane goes under the terrain like in most games, so when it is deformed you are just exposing the plane.
I realized a couple things on Battlefield 1 comparing to Battlefield 4, first, it might sound senseless and stupid but battlefield 1 colour is far more varied than Battlefield 4 and the most significant I can point out here is that you pretty much got no fps drops when something blows up near you, you can witness uncountable explosions and action and yet, the game still runs smoothly.
It would be awesome if bf 2018 had the same reload mechanism like in insurgency sandstorm
Don't know why people are comparing BF1 and BF4 and having so many cancerous arguments over which is better. You want the best WW1 game ever made, go play BF1. You want one of the best modern games ever made, go play BF4.

its wierd with the breath test because with an earlier battlefield game 2142 released in 2006 you could see the characters breath and it didnt reapear till bf1
Even though BF4 has a sharper look and BF1 has a muddier look, BF1 looks significantly better. BF1 has some minor issues but you can't deny the game still looks freakin' amazing, on top of that it's well optimized and looks good on all platforms. The historical inaccuracy is really not a big deal considering how detailed the game is, how good it looks and how fun the mp is.

This is random and irrelevant but I love the sound of the grenade launcher when launching a grenade out of the chamber in Battlefield 4.
When you hit the vest in bf4 not much blood comes out and some smoke or sparks comes out instead of a lot of blood compared to the head
In bf4 when the grenade lands next to you the soldier won't panic BUT THE WE ALWAYS SHIT OUR SELFS

Battlefield 1 is an amazing game, I just wish there was more of a reason to keep playing it.
I wanna see BF6 go modern again with big maps like BF4. Except 1 thing. 100vs100 large conquest game modes
when you make a video about the graphics in a game and how far they have come but you use a xbox one and record bf4 and bf1 in 720p. and if someone says "well it isnt in 720p because its says on the video 1080p 60fps." the game can only be played at 720p on the xbox one.

Don't forget battlefield 4 was first released on the 360/ps3 generation so most of the things to do with detail are most likely hardware limitations
I mean, I play BF4 because it's 4 years old and still insanely fun. Most randoms my friends pick up in Rainbow 6 Siege and other games still play BF4 over BF1.

BF4 a lot of the times has higher resolution textures. If you crouch or get up close you will notice. You can especially see it with walls(bf4 walls have better textures most of the time)
Bf4- Players who are mostly teens and adults who like to have a good time.
Bf1- Players who are also teen and adults but kids managed to join just because of cod infinity warfare, i normally see that when i play with these laddies- they don't have any other battlefield game.
Bf3- Adults and teenagers from 15-18 who know alot about the art of sniping and driving a helicopter.

Bf4 has better bullet decals. In bf1 if you shoot walls and fences every gun makes same kind of destruction. But in bf4 theres a difference. Pistols machineguns etc all leave differend kind of sparks, dust,depris...Also in bf4 it has bullet penetration, you can shoot trough thin walls etc, but in bf1 theres none.
I just want to see another modern game with the new engine enhancements. Not futuristic tho. That’s been blessed dry by now

CoD used to be my absolute favorite, but then they took a nose dive down the succes tree hitting every branch on their way down! That cancerous future shit and all, felt like I was playing star wars.
