      I started using it with 3d printers then, as a CNC machinist, etc.
      i cant argue that its not a better system because it is. my only hope is more people catch on.
      i was using square mm to find a better deal on nickel metal for electroplating recently. I dont have much physical reference to 0.00393701 inches unless i convert it to mm.

      On the GS u need less than two parking slots and you hardly manage three slots on the S1000RR. That's a huge difference and it shows that the bike _does_ matter. Of course you _can_ use that technique on a superbike but it doesn't make it a slow-corner-killer as the GS as long as you keep the stock handle-bars. A superbike just isn't built for that. 50% more radius says it all, also the GS is obviously much easier to handle at slow speed.
      But I tried the technique already on my bycicle and have to admit that i use(d) it anyway so it's already in my repertoire of movements for slow/mid-speed turns on bycicle - just didn't transfer it to my motorbike riding or at least i didnt' think of it so far. Maybe I use this already on the bike /wo thinking to much about it - I'll give it a try on the next trip.

    this type of manuvering that you explain in your videos are obligatory practice and exam in Netherlands. They teach us slow speed slalom, 8, U turn, parking bike in and getting out of parking. On faster exercises they teach us precise breaking, fast breaking with precise stop, and extreme situation breaking like emergency type of breaking. Also fast slalom and fast evasion action in left and in right. Also they teach you fast entering with breaking and evasion...This are all done on naked bikes but in practice you could apply all on sport bike as well. Things I've learned about dirt bikes (from the 70's) compared to sport bikes (Ninja 300se). 1) you steer the dirt bike, you lean with the sport bike. 2) You can pick up a dirt bike like you'd pick up a bicycle, a different story with the sport bike, and it was just this week that I saw a couple videos on how to pick it up which is the most important thing I've learned. I've had 2 back surgeries, will be having a 3rd one soon, and it's nice to see that there is a proven method to picking it up by yourself without making back issues worse.

      I have ridden a bike the last 40 years, however the dynamics of a 20 pound bicycle and a 450 pound motorcycle seem very different to me. Also I have only taken my MSF class and spent the rest of my time practicing and watching youtube vids the last two years. I cant think of any other youtuber that mentions counterbalancing.

But 2 elements i noticed - the heavier bike does need a little more speed compared to the small bike otherwise it tends to want to drop. The other thing which i only managed once....you got to let the bike 'drop'. Once it starts to drop, throttle up.

    Cheers Eddy, you're always awesome with the advice. Your mannerisms, analogies and tips are spot on all the time. I've been practicing these slow speed manoeuvres and I feel so much more confident, things as simple as coming to a stop very smoothly, you take these things for granted quite easy if you don't practice. I was practicing u turns and figure of 8s and I felt so rusty but then it all come flooding back from when I was learning to ride.
    The one thing I didn't do though is counterbalancing as you were showing here because it felt unnatural on a sport bike, I learned on an old naked sport tourer style bike called a Suzuki Bandit and that felt very different because of the renthal style handle bars too. Thanks again buddy, ride safe 👍

      Most do...we have the throttle to worry about and steering...so it's a lot for one hand..that's why when I go right, I pull the left handlebar...same thing as pushing right to go right (counter steering)

    • @fatmanpedaling
      @fatmanpedaling 5 лет назад

      Well, on a slower tight right turn your right hand is trying to maintain a steady rpm while moving towards you, your wrist is articulating out to the right, right hand turns tend to be much tighter on roads where we drive on the right, the handle bar is coming in towards the knee that's leaning down. Your brains trying to do like 3 calculus problems and some physics and you're just hoping you don't look as stupid as you feel.

      @@MotoJitsu (in response to your comment on my video) I tried 1st gear but I felt it was too jerky. What do you think the advantage of 1st gear over 2nd gear is? Also, are you always putting all your weight on the outside foot, like really pressing down, or is your body position enough to shift your weight to the outside of the turn?

    • @MotoJitsu
      @MotoJitsu  6 лет назад

      Jerky isn't the bike, it's you. The advantage is actually going slow, when you're doing slow speed drills, make it less than 5mph or less to actually learn how to balance and use the clutch. You're throttle should be steady and your slipping the clutch to do your u-turns. The weight naturally goes to the outside if you shift your weight there. It's more important for you to learn to use your clutch and bigger head turns. :)

      See, what most people don't realize is that it's not the straights that make you fast.
      If you're not able to turn or performlow speed maneuvers that come up in the course of riding, then you're not truly a fast rider. A guy on a 600 will eat you alive even on a liter bike if he's got the skillset.
      At that point, your bike is just fast and your just not scared to rip it in a straight line... might as well hit the drag strip if all you're gonna do is go fast in a straight line.
