im sorry but these newer ios versions just seem pushed out and so are the problems im happily still using ios 15 on my 10.5 ipad pro still can use apps etc im not missing anything without it
I miss the days of iOS 6 when there was never a need for an X.X.1 update. Just stable and reliable software with each new release from Scott Forstall’s team. iOS really took a nosedive in quality control starting with iOS 7.
Indeed the software is way more complex and unfortunately that sometimes causes problems which can be very nasty, in my case in the 17.4 release it caused a lot of problems with the essential Files App, blocking, not saving, and even needing hard reboots. I can only hope this has been solved.
I'm a chronic Samsung user but started using the iPhone 11 Pro Max 4 years ago as my secondary daily phones. This inability of Apple to handle iOS on comparatively few devices has been annoying. This issue with iOS 17 in its FIFTH version is very disappointing.
Same… we definitely need the most powerful, and most advanced boat, that has Ai, and WiFi. Also cellular data… maybe, the bigger boat can be an Apple boat device… if they do make one….
I don’t remember there being so many bugs 10 years ago or so. For sure now the features are 100x more. But bug fixing perhaps isn’t holding up to the huge amount of features. iOS doesn’t feel as polished as in the past. macOS feels the same to me to be honest.
It’s our hindsight messing with us. Old iOS was buggy as hell, just like current iOS. The best any software development team can do is quickly release fixes as issues arise.

It’s the same for all storage devices. As long as it’s not been overwritten, it’s still there. And even when it’s been overwritten, there’s still traces of the previous data until it has been overwritten for many times. *There is no secret conspiracy*😂. People need to calm down and leave their tinfoil hat in the closet.
The photos “bug” is a very weird bug. It feels like it’s not a bug. They’re keeping all of our data! Not what they have been advertising. Where’s the privacy???
It has been a thing ever since Floppy 💾 So when you delete something, it isn’t technically deleted. It is only deleted for you not to see, but a tech savvy person like myself and IT can retrieve it easily. How do you think they capture people with erased HDD’s

My Iphone 12 battery is litterally dying. the find my app using 100 percent of the huge battery drain when off. There is some glitch in that app since 17.5. I have disabled find my temporarily.
Same! IOS 17.5 has very good battery life in my iphone 13 as compared to 17.4.1. I'm also skeptical about 17.5.1. Edit- Second day of update charged to 81% from 31%. The battery life seems to be draining faster than ios 17.5 in my iphone 13.

Why I haven’t updated since IOS 17. Super scared of more bugs and issues than before. I loved my iphone 11 pro max and had it for the past 3-4 years. No issues. Only upgraded because of battery and lack of storage as I’ve always gotten by with 64. Not anymore. Even the iphone 11 pro max camera is better than on my iphone 15 pro max. I can’t afford another iphone after this as the prices are insane. Always been a Samsung person, but after I switched to Apple and iphone 6 back in 2015/2016 I never looked back. But now I regret not getting Google Pixel instead tbh. Too many issues since IOS 16 than compared to previous versions.
Great looking wallpaper! I still had the alarm clock bug with 17.5. However, after updating to 17.5.1, I tested it out and it seems to be working even with the volume turned all the way down.
I'd feel my 14 Pro Max smoother after this update, it didn't feel like it was running constantly at 120Hz and for now it does feel smooth as new. I had a major temperature issue with the previous update and some battery drained, let's see if it is fixed now.
I'll still hold off even on this one, since I haven't updated to 17.5 either. Will wait a few days to see if any of the other bugs have been fixed since I don't need my GPS dropping off or connectivity issues or whatnot! iOS 17.4.1 was perfect. Apple realized 17.5 and honestly I found nothing new and no reason to update. Then it was buggy and then 17.5.1 was released to fix the bug which was none existent in 17.4.1 is there a difference btn 17.4.1 and 17.5.1

@zollotech what really bothers me about this bug is when you delete a photo or video it’s not really deleted. It must stay in there cloud. But what I want to know is for how long before apple deletes it from there cloud???? This is just crazy that your photos are never really deleted!!!
Unfortunately, iOS 17.5.1 has ruined the CPU performance of my iPhone 13 Pro. On 17.5.0 the Geekbench 6 scores were 2404/5960 for single and multi core test. Since updating to 17.5.1 36 hours ago the score is now 1005/3739 averaged over multiple tests and restarts. It seems a long time since the upgrade for indexing and installation processing to be continuing, which might affect the scores. I’ll test it again tomorrow and update this. My iPad Gen9 was updated at the same time and the Geekbench scores are similar to they were before the update. Pretty fed up with Apple at the moment. Update: checking the phone settings I see that the upgrade to 17.5.1 from 17.5.0 automatically switched on Low Power Mode, hence the performance throttling I experienced. Switched it off and all is well again.
Just noticed this on two of our older iPhones. iPhone 11 and iPhone 12. Not an issue with my iPhone 15 pro. Getting the Charging on hold. Charging will resume when device returns to normal temperature. Both devices were on third party magnetic charges. One in a vehicle and one on a desk charger. Just thought it was strange that two separate phones started doing this this week….

iPhone 14 Pro - Rebooted prior to update to 17.5.1 having skipped 17.5. I'm currently outside the U.S. and have two phone numbers active; one local and one U.S. with my Contact's assigned to use the appropriate line depending on the destination. After the update ALL calls were going out on the local non-U.S. line despite the settings for line assignments. After worrying about no longer being able to get a short code confirmation from a bank that refuses to use another method I went back to basics. Rebooted! That put everything back in place.

I finally solved the problem i had with my GPS not working when i updated to version 17.4. GPS was dancing all over the place and it did not even show speed when driving. I first restored the Iphone 13 pro max using a mac to version 17.5. Then loaded backup via Icloud. When it was all done i disabled Icloud+ Private Relay. And right after that, it was working perfect.
Lemme know how it is few days using it. I’m on a 14 pro with iOS 17.4.1 and I’m kinda scared to update it to 17.5.1 cause of the battery issues I’m hearing

Hello Aaron. I've noticed that if I don't wear the watch when going to sleep, the alarm always works. If I wear the watch, the alarm doesn't commence, not on the watch and not on the iphone. Also, horrible battery drain on the iphone 13 pro on 17.5 with 86% battery capacity. watch seems ok.
I can not complain now, alarm clock works, deleated pictures is deleated for good, my phone seems faster then yestetday. I recieve phone calls normally and notification on iMessage is good. Battery is not draining as fast as last week. I use Google chrome. 17.5.1 is working great on my 13 pro. 8:43

this update is a disaster, my Iphone 11 has alonst no mobile internet anymore, apps are extremely slow and sometimes not working after a few minutes, I have to soft reset 2 times a day to keep my phone working (barely), phone overheating and shutting off. For this update everything was working. This would NEVER have happened with Steve Jobs. Shame on you Apple!!!
I’ve had photos that I couldn’t delete. I would delete them and then delete them from deleted videos folder and then like 30 seconds later they would reappear. I figured it was due to lack of space

Is anyone else having the camera out of focus? After updating to ios 17.4.1 my camera has lost its focus. I guess it’s a bug bc it works just well using slow-mo mode and sometimes it focuses during photo mode but suddenly gets blurry again. That wouldn’t happen if it was a hardware issue.
The alarm clock bug is unacceptable. My alarm clock is working but it is a bad feeling knowing that you can’t count on it 100% anymore.

Update your most used apps and put your phone on data saving. It will help close your apps on the background.

In 17.5.0 my 15 Pro was getting very warm, but that seems to be resolved in iOS 17.5.1. it’s now nice and cool again.

I can not complain now, alarm clock works, deleated pictures is deleated for good, my phone seems faster then yestetday. I recieve phone calls normally and notification on iMessage is good. Battery is not draining as fast as last week. I use Google chrome. 17.5.1 is working great on my 13 pro. 8:43

I was able to edit my standby screen after the 17.5.1 update. I have a 15 Pro Max.
As I said already Apple should stop introducing new useless features and start seriously fixing all bugs instead.

My wife's iPhone XR has had battery drain issues, since updating to 17.5, I hope this one helps with that.
this update is a disaster, my Iphone 11 has alonst no mobile internet anymore, apps are extremely slow and sometimes not working after a few minutes, I have to soft reset 2 times a day to keep my phone working (barely), phone overheating and shutting off. For this update everything was working. This would NEVER have happened with Steve Jobs. Shame on you Apple!!!
I am able to edit the clock faces in standby mode. I was also able to do that in 17.5. Strange how it only affects some devices.
I’ve had photos that I couldn’t delete. I would delete them and then delete them from deleted videos folder and then like 30 seconds later they would reappear. I figured it was due to lack of space

Wish they would come up with a fix for my phone going straight to voicemail 60% of the time when it absolutely should not- that problem gets me into a bunch of trouble- it’s not cool.
one of their most important sell point is their security. of course they're gonna be quick to fix it. it's one of the most dangerous bugs i've seen so far.

I believe it skips over but it still downloads both updates if that makes sense. Like it does it all at once

Is anyone else having the camera out of focus? After updating to ios 17.4.1 my camera has lost its focus. I guess it’s a bug bc it works just well using slow-mo mode and sometimes it focuses during photo mode but suddenly gets blurry again. That wouldn’t happen if it was a hardware issue.
Got an iPhone 15 Pro max and it gets pretty hot when you charge it and use it at the same time.. been like this since 17.5-update

I can edit my Standby clock. Weird. I do notice Apple Music does not play or connect sometimes in 17.5
