Windows 1.0 DR5 can work with VMware, not sure about virtualbox tho, but its harder to install on vmware and even if you do it, there are a lot of problems so you might as well use 86box or pcem
HAHA!!! YOU LISTENED TO MY SUGGESTION!!! no but seriously, tysm for listening to my suggestion recommendations: - you can set the machine to the max config (socket 370 acorp 6via90ap via cyrix CPU 733mhz clock) - you can click on configure in voodoo graphics and set it to Voodoo 2, and check all the other checkboxes, go to XGA configuration and choose XGA-2 - i would recommend to set the HD controller to internal controller, for the 2nd floppy drive you can set it as 5.25" 360k, just in case some old programs require that format - set the floppy disks to turbo timing to speed up the floppy disks (and check bpb) - set the cd-rom drive to 72x speed to speed up the installation - instead of "copy D:\win9x" you can use "xcopy /E D:\win9x C:\win9x" just in case there is some empty folders or folders with data in them
@@user4216 the reason why you need to boot into safe mode is because of an ACPI error, if there were VMware ACPI drivers for memphis then you could probably boot into normal mode just fine
I feel having more PCem/86Box tutorials would be nice since certain operating systems won't work with VMware and VirtualBox. (e.g Windows 1.0 DR5)

Thank you for this amazing tutorial! It actually reminded me about my own PCem unfinished setup 😅 Time to get back and do something nostalgic with it!

Finally Windows memphis !
thank you!
Make sure you set the BIOS date to 13/12/1996 in order for it to work
2nd early, yay
Do you know how to do it on limbo?
is there anyway to get build 1351 of windows memphis on vmware or virtualbox?
Some Memphis builds don’t work with hypervisors, thy only work with emulators, and I may be wrong, but I think this build only works with emulators
in VMware, you have to boot into safe mode in order to get it to work
@@hdfsyu ahh, I didn’t know that. I thought that this build didn’t support VMware
