For them to still be able to speak and make an attempt to recover is an amazing feat in itself. They are not giving up

Export the scrap metal and use the funds to keep rebuilding..
Use solar ,wind and hydro energy now and less dependency on fuel

Thanks for keeping an update. My family and I survive the hurricane. The island was helping St. Thomas and parts of Puerto Rico from hurricane Irma when we were strucked. We appreciate what your channel does with these updates.God bless!

I was on that bridge last November. It's on my hometown of Morovis. All my family still lives there. And one of my aunts lives in that community that was disconnected from the rest of the town because that bridge collapsed. That community is named San Lorenzo, and is part of my hometown, Morovis. Love it and miss it so much.

I know this will fall on deaf ears.
But what caused the high mortality rate wasn't the direct impact of the hurricane but what it left behind. People in the island just like in the US mainland prepared for 2 weeks worth of provisions. But nobody had provisions for months to a year.
Puerto Rico needs a prepper mentality if we are to avoid a repeat of Maria's aftermath.

I saw some videos that I had not seen of the terrible effects of the hurricane on the island and i had to cry. It was horrific! Nobody's fault, only nature! The president of the USA did what he had to do, support the governor by calling him while the hurricane was hitting the island, and send the help necessary so it kept functioning, and the USA could get the big chunk of taxes that they get annually. Nothing is given for free!

To this day, there's around 11,000 families without electricity and they were told that it can take two more months. Two fucking more months! That is almost a year without electricity!

Some of the people who received the good food from the Philip Family will no doubt be back to the island to contribute to helping with recovery efforts because they will never forget the food she cooked for them and her 12 children.

Although there are people in Puerto Rico that did not loose their homes the lack of water, electricity, materials, hospitals, schools, etc.
    Has affected everyone.
. The lack of Political leadership has not shown up. There is a poor communication no transparency. And believe it or not there are areas that still are without water. After hurricane Maria and things in Aguadilla Puerto Rico we’re finally looking better, it presently has for the last 8 days has no running water, the electricity still goes out for hours to days at a time. With no explanation from the companies, they seem to take complains then report saying that no one from that area has complained of a problem. If you speak in English they don’t seem to pay much attention to you, so you need to speak in Spanish. The same goes in hospitals.

All federal agencies have left not that they helped that much to begin with. Volunteers have helped the most anyway.

Still it's volunteers from the US mainland and all over the world that actually helped the most.

They are waiting for the island to collapse economically so they can buy up the properties. That's where they are. Fortunately the locals and outside volunteers are not going to let that happen.

the issue is that pricans want help help help but are not willing to work, even before the hypercane they crippled the island living off the government, living the easy life now it caught up to them and they dont know what to do.Trump was correct in limiting the help.
