    With Vax's homebrewed Boots of Haste carried over from Pathfinder, he was pretty much a bullet. Them transitioning his speed ability to the armor was a superb move for the adaptation.

    It's really interesting comparing the "Take me instead you raven bitch!" moment between the two shows, in the campaign it was Vax trying to intimidate the Matron into "allowing" the resurrection whereas here it was more an act of desperation. Both work incredibly well but for different reasons and I think that's super cool! I also love how the armor also basically gave him the Boots of Haste abilities from the campaign, especially with how well they made it come across in animation.

    They absolutely nailed the most important part here for me, which is that Raven Queen Champion Vax is unbelievably hot. Liam keeps coming up with sad fruity boys who turn me feral.

    I am slightly disappointed they had Vax scream "Take me instead you Raven bitch" as the calm way Liam said it in the stream made it more menacing and badass in my opinion.

      I can see that, but I’m fine with it either ways. and I’m not sure it would have worked, with the context they’ve built up in the preceding episodes, for him to be menacing and badass in this particular moment, he’s been having spooky visions of the raven queen since the start of the season, he just spent the last minute of episode 3 crying his eyes out, he’s terrified and desperate above all else, and in his terror he makes a split-second desperate decision.
      Definitely see where you’re coming from though my guy, I f*cking love that scene in the original campaign.

      Yeah, they just changed Vax's emotions a little bit in the scene. In the campaign, Vax was kind of trying to intimidate The Raven Queen. In the show, it's more an act of desperation than one driven by anger, like it was in the campaign. I personally like both versions. But they are different emotionally, for sure.

      Why would he be menacing and badass in that moment? She is a fucking god, nothing from Vax would be menacing or badass compared to her:D

    • @AnxietyRat
      @AnxietyRat Год назад

      @@miramaxcinemax5512 I think he also rolled a persuasion check not an intimidation check, in the campaign... So that would doubly make sense why he would be less intimidating and more desperate in the show. But I could be misremembering the moment I haven't watched it in a couple of months.

    Beholders are trademarked, so they had to tweak it, yeah. Looks like they bundled the effect of the Boots of Haste into the vestige.
