this fish killed a lot of people in southeast asia, and most of the time was the small ones. human kids or adult playfully put the fish in their mouth and guess what? it went berserk into their throat, choked them to death.

I'm about 50 but I still get this nostalgic documentary feeling you mention. The BBC and PBS are my favorites(all subjects). National Geographic was another fave but some newer ones have replaced the "real" aspect in favor of virtual or staged content. The BBC ones are often narrated by David Attenborough. The narrative voice/script also affects the quality and vibe of any documentary. If you want to check ,there is an exceptionally good one that follows the Ganges River from it's source in the Himalayas.
@@michaelcavener8975 : David Attenborough is definitely one of the best narrators ever existed,as a biology student,he's my idol,he even received a special charge from the queen of England.
The only way to safely and truly control this fish is to figure out a way to eat them. I mean if we can figure out a way to eat puffer fish this should be no problem.
Venom is energy consuming and can be a detriment if there aren't any proper predators which can eat it consistently, or any prey to eat consistently. This is why North American snakes lack the venom while the tropical ones do.
@@infinityzer054 well yeah at least we are pretty fine from it. However, an animal that has a scary intrusion rate will definitely affect ecosystems if it also has a high reproduction rate and low specialization. Basically an invasive species in the entire world can alter habitats and may exacerbate the acceleration of unfavorable conditions.
It is not venomous but try holding it as it wriggle in your hand, if the slime doesn’t make it slip out of your hands, the spikes will. Also, it’s delicious when you fry it.
There is local story that says, A fisherman swallowing one those fish while trying to catch it. The fish jumped in his mouth and it's spikes prevented it from getting it out of his mouth. The fisherman passed away before they you hospitalise him due to suffocation. This story is quite popular here in Bangladesh as a true story. However, I can't confirm if it's true.

Australians terrified of animals? Hahaha. We love native animals here, they are so unique, and have wonderful features, even if many will kill you! Being terrified of animals is something overseas tour operatos tell naive tourists to generate excitement and exotic fees. It's a sales gimmick. Australians accept the animal is a wild creature, and if it's dangerous, you just stay out of its way. People that get killed by animals have usually done so though their own stupidity, ignoring warning signs, or entering a dangerous situation or habitat.
Climbing perch are known as Puyu fish. Literally thousands of them where I live at. No animals died from eating them. Not birds, not cats, not dogs because they eat it all the time especially cats & birds. Most of these invasive species can just be added to the menu. We all need cheap food. Solves 2 problems

I regularly caught one of these bad boys when I go fishing. Here is what I did to avoid getting stabbed by its sharp fin: grab its head from the front and cover the eyes with your fingers. That way the fish can't do harm to you and do whatever you want with it.
That fish needs to be fileted right away, rather than placed in a 🪣bucket. Bumber.
When you caught it, clean it and fry it. Dip it in hot sauce with lime juice. Thank me later.

Am I the only one who gets this nostalgic documentary feeling, I used to watch some animal documentaries, and some history shows when I was about 9 or 10, this channel just gives me that nostalgic vibe, I'm 15 btw
I still watch this kind of documentaries and I'm 20 years old.
I’m almost 30 and I still watch this kind of documentary
@impulse 15 and gay, get outta here
I'm about 50 but I still get this nostalgic documentary feeling you mention.

The only way to safely and truly control this fish is to figure out a way to eat them. I mean if we can figure out a way to eat puffer fish this should be no problem.
Lungfish
Always chop the head off on a hunted fish
(I’m surprised that this fish isn’t venomous due to the spikes)
Venom is energy consuming and can be a detriment if there aren't any proper predators which can eat it consistently, or any prey to eat consistently. This is why North American snakes lack the venom while the tropical ones do.

At least it’s not like a stonefish where it can just hide, at least we can identify it.
