What I enjoy about this series is George's gleeful participation - not just as host and narrator, but that he is not above getting his hands dirty or lending some muscle when needed. Not to mention artistic contributions, like stenciling stars on the ceiling! So sorry to hear of Jackie's passing in 2017 - I hope she had time to enjoy the fruits of her labor!

I actually teared up when the image appeared on my computer monitor of the completed . . . Masterpiece! It is absolutely magnificent! Well done! Living in the U.S.A, we have such a very short history and very very rarely do I encounter a building or church with British or European influence. Consequently, the Home & Garden "The Restoration Man" series is what I enjoy watching. This restoration is undeniably one of the top 3 or 4 masterpieces.

On the other side, you have housing made of wood who did not evolve much since 18'th century that allow you to rebuit more easilly than us, europeans. US wood worker do still have the skills to repair or rebuilt an american house. Stonemason who could redo a gothic church are ay harder to find. ^^

What a beautiful restoration & couple. It breaks my heart to find out on Brixham Chamber of Commerce's homepage, Jackie died in 2017. You can read the eulogy on their homepage titled" In memory of Jackie Robinson" dated Feb 10, 2017. She obviously made a strong, positive mark on the town before she passed on, age 56. I hope and pray her husband, Neil Worrell managed somehow to get over that tremendous loss.

I hate the word "stunning", but it's really the only word that describes this restoration. The architecture, the modifications, the decor make a "stunning" whole. I love this house. The only thing I’d change, if I had a larger budget of course, are the post modern pillars. Though they had some gothic features, they seemed a bit out of place for me. I would replace them with stone copies of the church’s gothic Doric or maybe even corinthian pillars. Though I understand perfectly why they didn’t as that would probably cost a ton.
