I dont understand people who feel annoyed by his backpack. Like what the hell? Its a part of his costume and compliments the personality of his performance. People find the most absurd things to be annoyed about. I love Czech Republic this year, good luck 💝

It's the first day of rehearsals and there is a lot of choreography to get down. Like I'm confident in Mikolas.

People are commenting words that I don't understand at all. "forced", "awkward", "cringe" HOW? HOW TO ANY OF THOSE?

Common, it was the first rehearsal. stop judging or even hate someone ... like it's the final performance. Some stupid comments about backpack.. Mikolas wanted the live performance to be similar to the video and there u can see students group dancing.... MIKOLAS will qualify for sure but he needs something fixid...
Sorry, but another stupid comment about the backpack: It´s not important a backpack form me, but Mikolas. If he´s going to dance with the backpack like a pre-party, so...
His backpack prevents him from moving, pulling him to the ground. And instead of concentrating on singing, he probably distracts the falling backpack. That´s why I don´t like backpack. In Ukraine, the backpack was perfect, it had its charm, its worth. But now? OK, he promised to have a backpack in Lisbon. Let him take it on a blue (red) carpet or 10 seconds on the stage and then throw it away. Singing and dancing together is hard. And the song is fast, Mikolas needs to feel good and to breathe... So to be the best. If his performance is similar to the video, so good. Great. But there is Mikolas released, carefree (unlimited by backpack). I am sorry for my bad English.
I hate that we don't have LED screens this year. It's such a drawback. I have no idea why they decided to get rid of them. Not everybody wants to perform Sobral's music and even he had some staging.

It's already been told it's been done on purpose to focus on the artists quality and performance. It's so annoying to read the same thing about led every single time!
Actually I think it looks much more elegant, because a lot of countries didn’t really have an idea for LEDs and stagings looked really average, just not appealing visually. On the other hand the lights and other effects make every staging looks quite nice and arranged.
From what I remember, when he performed in Ukraine people in Kiev convinced him to use the backpack and keep it. There is a big difference, though, between a nice accessory and making that accessory a focal point of a performance, the latter being a distraction considering that the backpack is not really part of the song. I still want him to win though.
It will probably do good, but i just feel like the backpack thing is so forced!

The backpack is just too silly. It looks so out of place. He can do chic-geek well without the backpack. I am not buying it. I have a feeling this is one of the favourites that will flop.

I feel sad for his fall. But from the very first time it was released, I don't immediately like it until now. Maybe his song genre is not my cup of tea.
Is there absolutely no one in his team to tell him that people in Europe know about Backpack kid and that it's lame to copy that act and quite unnecessary for the song?

He's got a great voice and performance style. He seems like a really nice guy to boot. But nobody's replied when I ask this - isn't this song TERRIBLY misogynistic? Am I wrong??

A song that has nothing to do with Europe. Totally USA style and totally high school song and presentation.
This song wasn't created for Eurovision that's why. Mikolas got a record deal with Sony and will be going to America to record music after Eurovision is over.
