They're easier than they look like they would be! I'm glad I watched now, because I'd have avoided them believing them to be too complicated, if I hadn't seen this! I'm actually quite surprised at just how easy they really are! 😳 . I've been sewing years and years but I have limited patience for when things go wrong. I get really annoyed at myself for making mistakes, and the other thing I hate, is when something is going wrong and I don't know why it's doing it? Such as tension issues or the fabric getting chewed up and snarled with thread bunches etc. Those get me the most frustrated because they make no sense...you re-thread the machine, reload the bobbin, set the tension and everything's good to go, and it does it again! 😵 In those moments, I feel like "WHY do I put myself through this? WHAT am I doing wrong? WHY do I bother?" and have to stop myself from throwing the machine out the window! 😠 . I can't be the only one these things happen to, right? Right? Someone....? ANYONE....? Please say it's not just me??? 🙄 . 😂🤣😅 . So thank you for demonstrating this, because I wouldn't have even bothered considering them before seeing this. What I like about them especially is that they're great for adding something special and dressy to a basic top, without being heavy or restricting. I like wearing quite plain simple clothes, I'm not one for too many buttons, or bows or complications. Plus I'm bigger sized with huge boobs, so I don't need to be adding embellishments to an area that I want to distract attention from. I like a simple neckline, scoop or v neck, and generally tops or dresses without sleeves. Not necessarily strappy vest tops, they could be the much wider strapped vest tops too, that are plain and smooth down the front. . But how quickly you could jazz up a plain top or simple dress and make them look more fancy, by just adding a pair of these to the armholes! 😍 Just a plain shift dress, add a pair of these sleeves, with perhaps a matching ruffle round the hem, and a daytime dress could be "evening wedding reception" ready in no time at all! I'm thrilled with that potential. I hate buying fancy clothes because they tend to be unflattering fabrics that I don't feel confident in. I prefer jersey cottons with elastane or some lycra. Comfortable, breathable, and smooth. Try to buy a similar style dress for a wedding or formal occasion, and they tend to be layers of polyester lining, and crepe or chiffon overlays, which means I'm going to be fidgeting and adjusting my underwear the whole time! But a plain stretch cotton shift dress, could be transformed with some lightweight chiffon butterfly sleeves and a matching hem ruffle! . Oooh I love this! You have no idea how much I hate formal clothes. (Or clothes in general to be fair! Give me pyjamas 24-7 and I'd be happy!) But now I can wear a plain dress that I'm comfortable in, yet make it look a lot more dressy for very little time ....or fabric, and it's actually easy to do!!!???? . Brilliant! I'm subscribing! I hope you've got lots more easy sleeves ideas or things I could think about adding to plainer clothes, because I normally DREAD needing a fancy outfit. Thank you for sharing this! 😘😘😘

I just literally watched your video of the simple black and white blouse you made 7 months back, and I recall seeing one or two of your other videos previously from your list. How easy was that blouse design btw??? 😳 I've never seen sleeves attached straight across the shoulders like that before, without any precut armholes and measuring to make sure the sleeve fits the armhole. Never seen anyone do that at all!!! It's another nice dressy top, would look lovely with smart black trousers, yet is actually very simple in design. The fluted sleeves and tie waist give it more elegance, the pattern of the fabric gives it more style, and yet it's very plain, boxy and simple in construction. Those are the kinds of clothes I like best. At some point I must treat myself to an overlocker (that's what we call a serger in England) because they really do make the seams so neat inside. Tami, do you remember to hold upper and lower threads to the back for a few stitches every time, before you begin? If not, you get a tangle and 'bird's nest ' on the bottom of the fabric and maybe even a thread mess near the bobbin. I only learned this fairly recently and what a difference it has made for me...and my nerves!
