Once Hailey is born wrap her in a hospital blanket. Then Travis bring it home an give it to Remy to smell an sleep with a day or so before Katie and Hailey come home.❤❤❤❤
The baby’s first hospital hat with blood and goop is what my hubby took home for our dogs.
We did this with our mini poodle he wasn't even two years old and so attached to me, but it went very smooth when they met.

When my first grand baby was born I was so excited……I literally shopped every day for the perfect going home outfit ….we took 10 different outfits. It was the best
Love this video! My husband was just like Travis before our baby was born! He was the youngest, had never been around babies, and was very unsure about how to do things. So I came up with a plan that worked very well for us. The 1st week, he was my "assistant" and stood right by my side to watch and learn ...changing diapers, dressing the baby and swaddling...everything! The 2nd week I was his "assistant". He did great and was a very quick learner. This made it so easy and gave me peace of mind the 1st time I left our son with him alone 😆 he's a pro now for sure and sometimes does things better than I do. Prayers for your little family it's such an exciting time!

Having family that is there during and after the birth is wonderful. With my first both of our families were together waiting in the waiting room for the baby to be born. They had trays of food and were having a party!! It’s something they will never forget and neither will we. So so so special.
Your guys' attitude toward the birth is so mature and healthy (and refreshing!). As long as Mom and baby come out healthy, that's all that matters. Expectations and elaborate birth plans often go south very quickly and then the mom feels like a failure or like she was cheated out of the "ideal" birthing experience. So much pressure and fear mongering about parenthood out there. Proud of you guys for going with the flow and focusing on what's truly important. (I too always mentally prepare for the worst, and I usually end up pleasantly surprised.)

I am so happy for you. I’m 72 years old and was not able to have children so I live vicariously through you Bates girls as you have babies . I love watching how excited you are becoming as the due date draws nigh.
We pray that all will go well and that the hospital will allow both mothers in the room at the same time.
This is the most special time in your life. I remember picking the little clothes for my little one. Soak up every minute ..time goes way too fast. 💗

So exciting !! I was concerned as a new mom too about how I’d know when it was really time. Everyone kept telling me “you’ll just KNOW” and I was like what’s that supposed to mean ? How?? But indeed I did. I was afraid of them sending me back home and we were 1.5 hours away from home to the hospital so I really didn’t want that but they admitted me shortly after observation and checking me and all. Most of the time, you will just know. So happy for you guys.
That stroller is amazing ♥️ I wish they had that when I had my daughter 43 years ago. You guys will be awesome parents ♥️
Take way more snacks than you think you’ll need for after you have the baby! I feel like I was up for about 2 straight days after having the baby… so at night while I was sitting there feeding the baby I was snacking on candy and chocolates ❤ definitely recommend!

💯🤍 Snacks are so yummy after birth lol. My nurse brought me a huge slice of brownie and I gobbled it lol 😆

Congratulations! 🎉 I would definitely pack more than 3 outfits for baby girl, usually there is a lot of spit up and runny poops that dirty the outfits quickly. I would think maybe 5-7 just to be safe. Prayers for a safe and fast delivery, and healthy baby🙏🏼

Yep you have your priorities straight! Epidural is great, but I don't recommend induction if possible. They're not fun! But best laid plans, you're right to go in with that exact attitude! That would be awesome if the moms could be in during delivery, especially Travis's mom since it's the first grand! Hopefully the rules will change! I hope our state doesn't go bagless, what a pain! Glad you were able to get into your house, maybe installing a keypad entry would be nice! So exciting! Enjoy this time before baby girl arrives, it's a super magical time! Thanks for sharing!

Helpful tip. I had multiple house keys made. I put one on with every set of our car keys. That way when you leave the house you know you have a house key. Unless you walk out without your car keys which unfortunately has happened with certain family members. Praying for you guys. ♥️

That first outfit is really special. Loved the little lamb one with the magnetic snaps. My daughter brought my first granddaughter home from the hospital in the same outfit she’d worn home from the hospital 27 years earlier! The pictures of them side by side are absolutely priceless!🥰

Much love to you guys, a piece of advice from a mom who had 3 c-sections - don’t overpack. You will not feel like packing up/unloading/washing/putting away ALL of those things when you get home.

New Zealand is now into it's 4 year without single use supermarket bags - it was a pain in the beginning but you learn to purchase nice sturdy fabric bags and you just put the bags inside one bag if you get my meaning and have them in the boot of the car - do some bags as part of your channel and sell them to people who want them - do the dog on some and some nice flowers and a some manly ones as well - I have around 10 fabric reusable bags including one that is for cold/fresh and frozen food
You both will do just fine. Your doing a great job with everything so far. Travis, don't worry about not knowing what to do, you will find out the same way every new day dose by learning on the job...lol.. You will do just fine. Katie, you got this girl. You were at my mom's church in Texas! She was the beautiful lady who also has POTS. My kids were soooo happy that their Grammy got to meet y'all! My mom was so in love with the fact that y'all are so sweet! ❤️❤️❤️

This is my first comment on any of your videos but I couldn't help with how cute & exciting was! Love how Katie always says her belly is poppin (even since the beginning of preg), enjoyed the hospital bag packing part, the sound effects of how you dropped items in front of the camera was kinda cool. You all picking out her first outfits was fun to watch. I had no idea you were going to go over your birth plan in this video so that was a cool bonus! Excited for you all & wishing you well!
God knows the perfect timing for when baby comes. I went in 6 weeks prior for a non stress test and was told I was not going home until I deliver. Had c section and will not share the rest of the saga. I was a planner and control freak at one point but could not control this. No bag packed,no nursery,no crib,etc. Had to call girl friend to bring in her car seat🤣🤣God's grace was abundant. Infants do not need
much. Bureau drawer worked fine for a few nights. Enjoy this time.

A tip on working the doona.... It helps and makes it smoother if you have the handle in the upright position while putting the wheels up. Pull the handle and slightly push down on the front wheels and glide it down to the floor as you do it. It will become so easy to do it. You become an expert pretty quickly!

I had an awesome L&D nurse that told me the easiest way to know if I was in labor was to drink a bottle or glass of water and if the contractions got more intense it's more than likely real labor. If they ease off it was false labor. False labor is most of the time caused by dehydration. Hope this helps! Wishing you the best!

When you started talking about delivery and all that stuff towards the end of the video I got anxious hearing you, because I’m 19 weeks and it’s crazy to think that I’m about 4 1/2 almost 5 months away as well..but prayer can take away all worry and fear and putting are trust in God🙏🏻
As lotion to your bag for baby. Put it on a wipe and it cleans the first sticky poop diapers wonderfully. I learned it from a nurse with my second child.

Such a cute video💕💕 just a suggestion. I recommend you guys removing your shoes when you enter the house. For germs and just cleanliness altogether. Especially because the babies coming and will be laid on the floor and then crawling etc. So excited 🥰🥰

I was a fan of the long drawstring gowns for night time easy diaper changes for newborn phase .
100% recommend getting a key lock box and putting a spare key in it.. get one that mounts so you can put it somewhere in the backyard!!!

We keep boxes and Cold bags to put our groceries in, in our car. Then we load into the bags and boxes when we get to the car.
I'm so excited for you guys! When I had my daughter they brought her into me (she was sleeping in the nursery)early morning and it felt like Christmas morning. I was induced since I was a week late. That was almost 31 yrs ago.
You guys just need to get some reusable shopping bags! I'm sure there are some on Amazon you could order for your next grocery shop! And while you're at it, think about getting an August lock for your house. You can unlock your door with your phone!

I never had a birth plan. I just went with whatever labor threw at me. My 1st baby was smooth labor no problems. 2nd emergency C-section with placenta abruption, 3rd smooth planned C-section. You are correct, just go with the flow and healthy baby and healthy you!
Take your car seat over to your local fire department to get an installation check. This is just to confirm you did it right. I'm excited for you guys.

As Dorris Day sang- que sera sera, whatever will be, will be. Don’t opt for induction if you don’t have to, inductions are no fun! One out of my four was induced, because I had to. You know it’s time to go when you can no longer talk through your contractions. I’m also one that believes in letting baby come when they would come. No walking and going up and down stairs for me. Labor is tough work and there’s little sleep after. I would rest and take it easy and let it happen as it would, saving that precious energy for the delivery! You’ve got this! Don’t worry ❤

They make a door knob with numbers so you can enter a combination and it unlocks your door! Even on a back door just in case. So handy!
