Looks delicious Sweetie!! Just a little advice if you slice your roast with small openings and put your garlic cloves in the holes and it flavors your roast while cooking. Have a blessed and beautiful day.

Not searing the roast before putting it in the crockpot makes it dry on the inside because the juices within the meat did not keep it moist enough. It looks over cooked and dry, even with the other ingredients.

I agree and I always sear my meat on all sides before adding to crock pot. The rosemary, I like a hint of it and to me 4 stems is a lot. Of course i would add baby onions, carrots, baby potatoes and parsnips and serve with a horseradish sauce fir a kick!

Instead of garlic, you can use whole cloves but it has to be inserted into the meat. Figure about 3 cloves per pound. Go easy on the cloves as they are a strong spice. Then use half a cup of water and a cup of merlot wine. Dont use rosemary with whole cloves as it will be to over powering.

December 26, 2023 - A few weeks ago I found this recipe and thought I'd try it for Christmas dinner. I read the many posts about "NOT" using the cranberries and had to debate about using it as well, since it did not sound appetizing for the recipe. When the big day arrived I went forward, adding it to the recipe and I am thankful I did. This recipe came out perfect using the cranberries and gave a slight hint of sweetness to the end results. Thanks Justine !

I would definitely try this. I make pot roasts regularly, usually on a bed of root vegetables and make my own sauce I put over it. But The cranberries intrigues me! And the butter tho I would use less. It’s my husband’s favorite meal. Now he loves cranberries, I usually use just a 2 lb roast. It’s just us. This looks too interesting to pass up! Thanks! 🥰🎄🇺🇸

Next time I will try just the Jelled cranberry sauce. I also did not use as much butter. I strained the gravy & this is wonderful over mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. It makes awesome hot beef sandwiches- the gravy is really tasty!!! Thank you for sharing❤️
