Great Video, Have had many breeds of Chickens over the years and the top of my list is still the Australorp. More eggs than other breeds and have lived longer than other breeds of hens I have owned.
Pretty cool, glad to hear it.
This is good to know, just purchased a house with 6 Black Australorps and I don't have the slightest idea how to raise them. Thank you!
Just give them Feed and Water, collect the egg, and they’ll do all the rest
Thank you it's been awesome raising them this past year, have been enjoying myself learning how they act and behave.
Hey there! Were they worth getting? What’s the noise level like?
I'm in the same position. bought mine yesterday. How did it turn out?
Gisselle95 mine aren’t that noisy, but my roosters do Crow pretty loud. Very very good natured mine eat out of my hands.❤️🐓. Run over each other to me for scraps! Any kind of scraps.... an egg every day mine are like clockwork, started right at 4 months.🥚🥚🥚🥚
Thanks for the info! We have a couple Australorp chicks being raised now. 🐔
Good to hear!
That's a gorgeous rooster.
Thank you, he has also become quite protective of his hens.
I started this year to produce Australorp chickens. I consider them one of the better breeds. I used to raise leghorn and amrock. I like your video.
Thanks for the information! Much appreciate!
👍👍👍👍👍
God bless you and your family 👪
Thanks
I’m looking to buy some Autralorp chicks and suggestions on where to get 20-25 hens and a rooster
Nice video dude
Thanks for your video I find it very helpful
Can I order some fertil eggs from US if you give some information
Nice
My austro also made a great guard bird. She would scare away most cats and foxes.
GOOD JOB
Thank you!
Do they make any noise ? Searching for a quiet & more quiet birds ? Don't want neighbors complaining about the noise ! Thanks for reply greatly .
All chickens make noise, roosters more than hens of course. Your heavier breeds like the Australorps are not necessarily "noisy". However, Orpingtons and Cochins are somewhat known for being quiet. in your case I would choose a heavier breed and only get hens. Good luck!
i have a australorp rooster 4 issa brown hens should i cross breed or not?
It would be an interesting cross!
That rooster looks exactly like ours!
do they brood and hatch
Thank you for the info, would have loved to hear some actual audio of a black australorp only flock. Living in the city I'm very concerned about my considering keeping chickens and I'm told these are the quietest of all chickens but just how quite I'm trying to figure out? What will 2-3 hens only sound like at 6am as they get ancy to be released from their cage, etc. Maybe a future video idea for you to make for us rural city dwellers. Thanks!
Thats a great idea. Overall, three hens will not make much noise. The biggest thing is to keep up with bedding care so your neighbors do not have to smell chicken manure.
nice video friend
👍 Thanks.
V nice 🤩 👌 👍
I have a question, how soon after the chicken lays the egg can it be eaten, and what else can chickens eat besides there feed, I noticed a couple days ago they were eating grass, thank you.
You can cook the egg as soon as the hen lays it. Chickens can eat a lot of types of plant material, they love grass, kitchen scraps, etc. I have a video of things chickens cannot eat coming in a week or two.
@@GKGPoultry thank you very much!
Do they incubate eggs on their own or I need an incubator?
They are not the most broody chicken, but yes they will hatch their own eggs.
where can i get them ,
Good hens for eggs❤❤
I've hear that they are a fairly quiet breed as well. Is this true?
I have also heard that. I haven't noticed a difference in our flock but I also haven't paid close attention.
do blue Australorp lay the same eggs as compared to black Australorp?
Would like to see a rooster castration process.
I can try and get that set up in the future
They are not very well camouflaged. Is that a problem? (Easy target for predators?)
They do not get preyed upon like white feathered birds. But you are right, they do stand out.
@@GKGPoultry I grew up with brown chickens, and we had to constantly protect them against goshawks. We put fish nets on top of their outdoor-area to keep them from hunting the chickens.
When austrolop birds lays eggs everyday then how it becomes broody...?
They will typically start going broody in the spring, when the day length starts to increase.
Why does my Australorp have white ear lobes?
My Austrlorp has never lates a brown egg. 🤷🏽♀️
I m from Pakistan we need to poure astrolap bread or fretail eggs can you send to me
smh
How to identify that this is real Australorp breed.. More over i also want to know following...
1. Life span
2. When they start laying eggs
3. Do they get broody
4. Are these friendly like cochin, orpingtons
5. Any details to share that from where these can be imported to pakistan as i had hardly seen any pure breed autralorp here.
Thanks
Great question,
1. Their lifespan will be similar to most chickens 5-11 years
2. When they start laying will depend on breeding, you can assume 4-6 months
3. They are quite a broody breed, not as much as a silkie
4. Their friendliness will be very similar to Orpingtons (so long as they were treated well as young birds)
5. give or take they will lay 150-200 eggs a year, single combs, dark colored skin and shanks.
I hope this helps, if you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
@@GKGPoultry thanks for reply. From where i can import these to Pakistan
I am not familiar with importation policies, I suggest looking into local breeder/hatcheries or find where you can import them.

Does astrolarb chicken breed comes in only in black color or in other shades as well? How good they are to endure cold weather conditions like minus temperatures?
Please advise.......
When do they mature fully? Australorps that is.
Do black austrolorp only need natural way to lay eggs?
Austrolorp hens will naturally lay eggs. As long as there is a rooster with the hens they will naturally breed.
How long to full maturity
approximatly 25 weeks
I am intrusted to buy black australorp hens how it will possible because i am from pakistan
We, unfortunately, cannot ship birds overseas. All I can suggest is to find a breeder/hatchery closer to Pakistan that has them. I hope you are able to find some. Sincerely, the Chicken Man.

I would like to purchase black australorp chicks. But how can I get them. Because I am from india. If is there any possibility please inform me. Thanks a lot
I would suggest finding a local breeder or hatchery in India. If you can not find one, look into countries that India will allow you to import chicks from. Good luck!

What?? There is a way to castrate roosters?? How? Please do say?!
Is it just this breed or any other rooster?
The process of castrating roosters is called "caponizing", hence a castrated rooster is called a capon. You can do it to any breed, I think it would be difficult to do on bantams though. Hopefully I will be good at it enough one day to where I can produce a video showing how.
@@GKGPoultry thank you. I had no idea!!
that’s what i have
How do you castrate a bird 🦢
How I can collect this check? Please help me brother!
I apologize, but I do not understand your question.
@@GKGPoultry 🤣😂😂I think he meant to say .how can he buy those chicks.
Are Australorp broody?
Asidi Chibwana I am sorry for responding so late, I am having comment issues. Yes austalorps are broody.
Why don't you listen what the guys says, instead of thinking what to ask
The white leghorn holds the most eggs in a year
It's true that I do eggs every day. ????
Thanks
Our pleasure, glad you enjoyed it.
