    This is so helpful for beginner actors! Acting is more than being on a screen, it's literally hundreds of auditions, hundreds of "no's", hours of prep daily, long, sometimes odd hours on set, emotionally draining (during the actual scene and everything in between) it's a lot! Like you said it's more work than a 9-5 because we constantly have to be on

    I signed with an agency two weeks ago and I want to take this seriously! I saw a video of yours that was posted two months ago when you were on grays anatomy! I live in Seattle and was wondering who your representation was, how you found/got your auditions and how you made the move to working in LA/how you find auditions there. New subbie, hopefully we’ll get to work together someday 😊🖤✨

    Wow thanks so much for making this! You are so real & honest and all this is THE TRUTH! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Acting is hard and most of the time is spent pining over wanting roles and the dream of it all. But nobody talks about it so when you finally do get roles even actors are shook at the reality I know I was!

    I have some questions
    1. How do you find an agency or how do they find you? Ps I live in Canada if that helps and I’m not sure how to get an agent.
    2. How do I make a resume with no experience? Do you have to book jobs to put on the resume or can I start with none to build a resume?
    3. What lights do you use to film your self tapes and where can I get them?
    4. Can you do hair tutorials of the hairstyles you had for your headshots ( for some reason I always thought that was all your real hair... you definitely own those looks)
    And 5. This is not a question but I really do hope to see you as a lead in something big. Love you❤️ Only up from here

      Hey Jahleesa I can give you some feedback on some of your questions. I'm an actress, model & singer and am signed with a manager & agent so I can provide a little bit of insight as well. In terms of finding representation, definitely do your research on agents/managers in your particular location whether it be through google, RUclips, instagram. Look into some of the websites that you find of particular agencies and see if they represent what you are trying to do. Some agents may specifically only represent models for example. There are agents that may agree to represent people that are not in the same state( or country in your case). Some agencies will have a section on their website for new talent to submit for a chance to audition or they'll have an email where you can send the information they ask for. Another pathway you can use is by attending a talent school that has connections to differ agencies that you can audition for. In terms of how do they find you...they can find you through your social media, or at a particular event, if you do theater they may find you there. If you attend a talent school they can also find you that way as well and through talent competitions such as IMTA (international model and talent association) or Industry Network for example.
      With the resume, yes you can make one with no experience and as you book work you will add to it. When you have no experience, some of the things you can put on your resume are if you attended any acting workshops ( you would put the name of the workshop and who taught it and city, state. ) , if you have a coach, you can add that, if you've done any school plays or plays at your local theater you can add that as well. If you've taken any acting classes or entertainment related classes, you can also include that in your resume.
      With your resume you can add a section on "special abilities". This section includes any sports you play, instruments, if you sing and your range, any other languages you may speak, accents you are able to do, if you are able to ride a bike, drive a motorcycle, swim, ski, if you can impersonate a celebrity, animal, or character and so on and so forth. You can also add you level of proficiency with some of the things like instrument or sport or language, whether you are advanced/ fluent or if you are a beginner/novice.
      Hope this info was able to help you a little bit.

      @@VicaLove thhaaaaannkkk uuuuu! I appreciate this. And I haven’t done anything at all like theatre and stuff like that for school. I was not allowed to do extra curriculars and I couldn’t afford to got to a performing arts schools. But I tried out for random auditions here and there over the past two years and I didn’t book anything but I had fun and that reassured me I really want to do this because I never got to have any great experience growing up and now I have that opportunity. But thank u, I will take ur advice and use it well.❤️

      @@jahleesashenay No problem love glad I can help!! ☺️ an Oo ok gotcha. And definitely go after everything you want in life. If you weren’t able to have the opportunity to do certain things as a kid growing up now is your time! That’s what I did. Don’t give up. In this business you will get a lot of no’s before you start hearing those yeses! But don’t let that deter you from going after it if it’s something you really want. Always work on your craft!

    • @YindraZayas
      @YindraZayas  3 года назад +3

      hmm the process is auditions and then call backs, so if you aren't receiving call backs you haven't been auditioning. I would check with your agency and see if they have been sending you out on things. Ask for a report on auditions they have sent you out on in the last three weeks. If its nothing you might want to have a talk with them and see if they are the best fit for you!
