In 90's, He made a music for legendary japanese stage art group "Dumb Type". If someone gets internet, i recommend the work "OR" for the first time to watch. Unfortunately, the main member of Dumb Type passed away, and their golden age perhaps gone; Dumb Type is still acting, but I don't know their works in 21 century. Idk their recently works are good or not, but I promise the works in 20 century's were masterpieces.
I have read an article about this guy, he is the pioneer in a genre called microsound. I have listened to a few of his songs on my laptop and was not that impressed, so the article praising him seemed unreasonable, but once I was in a music studio I remembered about him and tried to listen to his music on studio speakers and it was amazing. If you have an opportunity to listen to his songs on a good surround sound set give it a try. I can't explain why, but the title matches the composition perfectly.
Micro sound has been around so much longer , it started on tape in the 50s 60s 70s he is a pioneer in digitally using the cut up method as coil and kk null even merzbow did in larger and scorpiacee covers the data cryptography now…
@@Zeitgeist6 I saw him in a venue with a huge sound system and a projector screen in the early 2000s. The screen was scrolling white binary 1s and 0s on a black background. As it went on, pictures would appear made from the 1s and 0s. While this was happening, the bass was removing my chest! An hour disappeared in what felt like 5 minutes.
its weird for me but knowing that in the future i won't be ble to hear this song as it was intended brings me a bigger pain than the one of actually hearing these frequencies.

Just been listening to this at home on a CD. What makes it even more 'organic' is the sound of the fridge or cars outside that come and go, adding to the soundtrack of the original CD.
The very first time a friend asked me whether I wanted to go to a "Minimal"-club, this was the type of music I expected. Just try to picture my disappointment. ;-)
I love the "erased melodies" sort of thing you can hear starting around the eight minute mark. Like they're recording over recordings of recordings played in another room.
Listening to this for the first time in many years, I was looking for one specific, extremely high pitched, almost painful tone (plays a few times around 1:10). At first I thought I was, sadly, too old to hear it anymore. Turns out it seemingly just doesn't play on my headphones or earbuds. They're not top of the line audiophile headphones, but they're not junk either. Strangely, it plays on my cheap standalone plug-in computer speakers that sound like junk. It also sounds clearer and more distinctive on my mp3 file rather than a compressed youtube video, but that's to be expected. It's weird, but I just want to get the full effect on my over ear headphones and feel that frequency pierce my eardrum.
@@freesolja1 It's very understandable though. If you are not genuinely interested in exploring said art it can be annoying af. You can't expect people not to get angry when you listen to a 3 hour long expirimental noise set at full blast. Put some headphones on :^)
@@Nachtdwaler well of course getting upset over someone playing something that's irritating when you want them to stop is reasonable but being upset by the arts existence is silly. I found it really pleasurable to close my eyelids and pay attention to the sporadic movement of my eyes, considering the auditory stereoscopic effect. It was a bit much for me just now though, as I've been running off mostly caffeine and the stress of studying.
this video makes me feel like I am floating through a galaxy of information and future possibilities and timelines. It definitely is out of this world.
This makes me think of the incredible miniseries Maniac. Because a recurring part of its score reminds me of the strings section on this track, but apart from that, Maniac features a sentient computer experiencing an emotional crisis, which is what two of the top comments here say this track sounds like.
Similar to the awesome Amon Tobin (who uses real sounds for his music) you style is pretty unique and interesting, so astonishing...It's Aurélien BARRAU who brought me here. Thx and good continuation for the future.
Right now i feel like something was updated on my mind, As if my mind was subjected to psychological programming or something like that. But i feel cool so I think it's right.
My friends and i used to sing this tune together around a campfire when we were hiking. The chorus is so contagious it should be quarantined!
How do you sing this song
+anotherpairofeyes - it sure needs some practice, yes... :-) it has to do with beatboxing, no?

Brilliant, haunting, energetic.
I love it.

This is some of the most emotional electronic music I've ever heard I think
same, it is realy realy good
I just realized that one high pitch frequency might be too high for some people to hear.

This is so captivating. Love listening to it. I wonder what it is that gets me. His pacing is so good.
Seems he is alternating between two worlds. One close and intricate, the other large and distant. So fresh, so simple and so cool.

It's amazing coming back to this after a decade and having half the notes be gone because they're now too high pitched for me
And now it IS the 10-year anniversary! Congrats whoever published this video X3
this is a certified hood classic
underrated
i remember first time i heard this it blew my mind because i never heard anything like it before
Hearing it now, can confirm am blown
can confirm, heard this and changed my music taste trajectory for the better half of a year
Same thing when i started listening to Autechre
I like the really subdued strings or whatever they are, hiding behind the white noise, around the middle and end of this.
Yeah, those are the ones I like. 7:16 to the end has to be my favorite
that drop at 7:15 is tite
They seem to be the only non analog-synth elements..
This song feels like I’m shrinking and falling in between the spaces of atoms
You know you're doing something right when this is in your recomended.

The very first time a friend asked me whether I wanted to go to a "Minimal"-club, this was the type of music I expected. Just try to picture my disappointment. ;-)
wait what is a minimal club
Kyle Tomlinson
Well, a club where they play "Minimal Techno". Which obviously turned out to be something totally unlike Ikeda's music.
this is minimal techno, but anything in a club is going to be subpar, lol
this here is not minimal techno, its more clicks and cuts/experimental style, similar to the artist "akufen" or the guys from "autechre"
glitch minimal
All jokes aside, i really love it. The textures and glitchs create such sentimental subtal pattern.
I love the "erased melodies" sort of thing you can hear starting around the eight minute mark. Like they're recording over recordings of recordings played in another room.
This is a masterpiece climax to one of the greatest if not greatest glitch albums of all time.

Pan Sonic are two guys: Mika and Ilpo.
i know, i just refer to artists' names as one thing, for whatever reason
this and Luxus 1-3 are probably his best songs imo
also that little silence right before going back into the song gives me goosebumps

I can't tell why this sound makes me so high,so it's wonderful.

such a multidimensional track, really expands from the initial state in such a visual way
returning to this it almost unfolds in a way like autechre’s LCC where the repetitive beat-like parts dissolve to let the ambient synths out
