American Boy watches Famous Balinese Kecak Fire Dance!

We enjoyed our day touring Ubud, Bali, in Indonesia. For lunch, we stopped to enjoy a delicious lunch at the Teba Sari Restaurant. It was really fancy and so unique. It had huge grass-hut-style roofs and was surrounded by rice terraces and Hindu temples. The restaurant was built on several levels to make it feel like you were part of the rice terraces. The food was delicious. We enjoyed eating with the beauty of nature surrounding us.
After lunch, we visited the Tegenungan Waterfall. We were in such a hurry that we were only able to get some ice cream and then take pictures of the waterfall from a distance. Then, we hurried off to the Kecak fire dance performance. The setting was with a beautiful setting with a Hindu temple and rice terraces surrounding it. The fire dance was much different than we expected. It was mostly a choir of men singing/chanting while a few performers dance and acted in between them. At the end, they started a big bon fire and a warrior dancer came out and jumped on all the hot coals and threw the logs of fire all around the stage. It was quite unexpected and entertaining.

The best Kecak dance is at Uluwatu Temple during sunset. It's an experience to behold and it's spectacular

This one in Ubud is more authentic and at full length (1.5 hours) . The one in Uluwatu is shorter just 45 mins and has comedy with the audience but good experience if there is a beautiful sunset.
