I was 20 when this show first aired and way too old to even be watching it but I adore this show still. I’m 28 now. Probably one of the very few millennials who kept watching the network and loved many of the new shows.

_Bella and the Bulldogs_ originally began as a TV movie starring Ciara Bravo from _Big Time Rush_ (which ended the year before), which had a more dramatic tone and was intended to be a pilot for a new teen drama series on Nickelodeon. However, the pilot movie was poorly received by both critics and viewers, leading to a creative clash, and, along with the similar failure and on-set fallout of _Sam & Cat_ ultimately led to writer Terri Minsky leaving Nickelodeon on bad terms (she would return to the Disney Channel a year later, taking with her another project which became _Andi Mack_ in the process), while the new series as we know it was (against her wishes) retooled into a sitcom with a middle school setting rather than that of a high school.
