Thank you for making these videos I recently started my own business and I find myself coming here often when I'm in doubt about something business related.
Jamaica real need to change there tax sitte becuase if u have no knowledge of filing tax you will never know what to declare when you reach the other page where you would put in other information
The TAJ e-Services portal could benefit from a dose of user friendly. It seems to assume that the user already has a degree in taxation. Yes, it is useful, very useful, but... Focus group? Handbook?
On the create account page there is no text box for password and once I click save at the end of filling out my info it carries me straight to the login section. I am not able to log in seeing that there were no area to create a password and when I try to "Forget Password" I do not receive an email to reset my password.
The question I have is that a business and the individual are always separate. Why would I file a SO4A form and I would be an employee of my business wouldn't it be filed under Payroll for the business?
@@pcsjm Understood. But what form should I use for my company (limited) - not a sole trader... It's registered under the Companies Act (LLC)... So which form should I use?

Its even difficult to get clarification at the tax office.
@@jaleelbrown4056 Can I tell you.. that's how I got here
@@jaleelbrown4056 you mean cant get any clarification. its ambigious, it requires previous accouting knowledge to get propper use out of it.
TAJ is helping to protect the jobs of the accounting professionals . Making things too user friendly would not be good
Thanks a Mil Kaliah

Hi, How do I file taxes for employess?
On the create account page there is no text box for password and once I click save at the end of filling out my info it carries me straight to the login section. I am not able to log in seeing that there were no area to create a password and when I try to "Forget Password" I do not receive an email to reset my password.
On which website? TAJ?
Can an employee file for income tax here in Jamaica like how it's done in Canada?
Does return on taxes apply only to business owner or is it that anybody can file for their taxes?
Which form do I use for my limited liability company? (not sole trader)
@Kalilah Reynolds Can an employee of a company file for his or her income tax using TAJ website?
No. Companies file & pay all statutory taxes on behalf of their employee.
Do I need to file taxes if the business made a loss?
Yes. Whether you make a profit, loss or no money at all you need to file
🙏🏾
The question I have is that a business and the individual are always separate. Why would I file a SO4A form and I would be an employee of my business wouldn't it be filed under Payroll for the business?
Hi, a sole trader cannot be an employee in it's business and as such no payroll taxes can be done. The business and the owner is one.
@@pcsjm Okay noted
