Sorsogon , Part 1 Legaspi City to Sorsogon City

- This segment of the Sorsogon starts North Bound at Imelda Roces Avenue cor. Bicol 637 or Lacandula Drive turning left. This continues at Bicol 637 till turning left at Aquende Drive then turn right to Airport road after 500m then continue with Magayon Drive till Daraga~Legaspi Diversion Road taking a left turn. Daraga~Legaspi Diversion Road will then join with Binitayan Road till reaching AH26. Turning left at AH26 will go to Sorsogon while right turn will go to Naga City.
The trip segment will then end at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Sorsogon City. This 55Km stretch is completely along AH26 except the roads inside Legaspi City, passing through 3 towns - Daraga, Castilla then Sorsogon City. The road condition is good with moderately winding but there are segments undergoing repairs or widening.
This is the main access to & from Matnog Port so expect a lot of trucks & buses sharing the road which is paved smooth. This is also a favorite among bikers so don’t be surprised to see a group or two depending on the season of travelling.
Access points to different Points of Interests and some additional info about the locations are also shown in the video.

The corner on the right as you turn left to Aquende Drive was where my grandma’s house was our house was just beside it. The land was sold to a distant relative who owns tha house now. We used to walk to Redemptorist church to attend mass. Sometimes we’d attend mass at the Cathedral of St Gregory the Great in Old Albany, across the City Hall. Aquende Drive used to be named Washington Drive. From Cruzada, our barrio(now barangay), we walked along Washington Dr to get to Albany Central Sch. I finished my elem schooling there. Lots of fond memories. Left and right of that road were rice fields. The airport runway was already fixed that time so at night it was a huge bike lane. A tomboyish friend of mine used to ride his brother’s motorcycle, really daring. My uncle worked as airport “dispatcher”. The FA of the last flight from Manila used to give us the left over ice cream from the plane. We each had 3-4 ice cream cups with dif flavors. Those were the days, REALLY FUN DAYS WHEN LIFE WAS SIMPLE! I don’t recognize anymore my barrio, Cruzada!☹️ anymore! Big progress, though.

Tell you an honest opinion, Sorsogon's roads are better than Camarines po. Gubat to Bulusan is such a fun drive :) Thanks for watching po.
