The Hebrew word for ark it means a protective box and they make barrages rectangle as they are more stronger and less likely to flip like ship hulls will. And even Moses was told to make the ark of the covenant and it was rectangular again proving the ark is a protective box nothing more or less.

I remember on a documentary on tv years ago, some experts were talking about if you could build a ark the size of what it says in the bible.
They did experiments with miniature models.
It was found that making a boat or ship that size would have leaked, because wood twists.
Even Spanish galleons, would have been dwarfed by the ARK

@@peterc3143 I will give you one. I had a Hernia, and I was going to the doctor the next day. But the night before Sunday Night, I was going to go up to the Altar and have the Pastor pray for me to be healed. But there was a lady there having demons being cast out of her and it was taking a long time, and so the pastor ended the service, and he said that if you wanted you could come and help pray for this lady. And I thought to myself, "I don't need anyone to pray for me, The Lord can heal me by Himself". And I was going to go ahead and leave and then decided to go up and pray for the lady to be free of demons instead. As I was deep in prayer for this lady, The Lord Spoke to me Very Loud and Clear But at the Same time, It was like a Whisper, and He simply said: "Your Healed". When I heard it, I stopped praying immediately and listened for a few seconds, and then started praying again for the lady till she was delivered. I forgot all about the Lord saying that to me, until the Next Morning. I was at my big saw at a large woodworking company, and the buzzer went off... And Then I Remembered! And I realized then that I didn't have the pain, So I decided to slide up 3 sheets of on top of my saw which the stack was really low and the total weight was 390 lbs, but I picked up one end on to the saw, and then picked up the other end and slide it all the way on to the saw. I was Amazed! So I was like, Did that really Happen? So I wanted to check again and I decided to do it again. I slide those 3 sheets, and put them back up onto the saw again!
So, a couple weeks later it felt like the hernia had come back, but the Holy Spirit let me know that that was the devils putting pain back on me to get me to agree with the demons and loose my healing. So when I felt the pain, I just told the demons, "I am Healed, God Spoke to me and I am healed". This battle went on for about 2 weeks, but then it just stopped. So, Yes, God Heals. But something I have realized is that if you have any forgiveness toward anybody, that will prevent your healing from happening.
And What you say Matters. Your Words are Powerful. So Declare God's Healing for you and Declare God's Word Out loud for your healing. And just keep doing that.
      Meditate on These Scriptures:
      Mark 11:12-26 (KJV)
12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he (Jesus) found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
      15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
16 And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.
17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
19 And when even was come, he went out of the city.
20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
      God Bless You Peter!

For example...just a plan bear could eventually turn into a brown bear, a white bear, etc...they evolved by where they lived. Also, I don't think all the lands were up yet until after the flood so we really don't know. A good example is in CO, dinosaur bones have been found. Where did they come from? So I think the animals that came into the ark were the beginning of all the animals as they evolved through time. Would love to know your thoughts.

The one rule I have come to understand in regard to the scriptures is: The thing is rarely the "thing". Take תבה which is the word used for ark. As it is said early on in the video, this word is used for both the vessel which Noah and his family were rescued through, as well as the wicker basket which the child Moses was delivered to the daughter of Pharaoh. Deliverance seems to be the main issue at hand, not the mode of said deliverance. Therefore, the shape of said vessels cannot be devised by comparison, only their use. The thing, is not the thing.

Shipyards with hundreds of experienced workers could never build such a vessel, but Noah did it with less than ten people. It took the introduction of iron framing and hot rivets to build "Ark" sized vessels in the 1800's.

The main trouble with Noah's Ark is that, even if, as AiG claims, the mountains were much smaller than they are today, the sheer speed at which the water would have had to cover the Earth would have caused so much friction that the planet would have been sterilized from the resulting temperatures, including Noah and anything on the ark.

In fact, god is so powerful that once the animals were off the ark, he made them return to the exact same places where he placed false evidence of them evolving. god is so powerful that he created everything to appear to be billions of years old, when it is only 6000 years old. As for your OTHER CULTURES, they did not exist yet, so you have to be wrong about them, the flood happened before any other cultures exist, don't you know the story of Babble is only two chapters away? god is so powerful that he can do anything and that includes erasing all evidence that he/she/it exists. And since god is all knowing, he KNEW in advance that the killing would not eliminate evil, thus proving that god is evil incarnate. One of the things to consider when talking about the "animals" on the ark is evolution since the time of the flood. It's entirely conceivable that two "dogs" (or even just two animals of the canine variety) were on the ark, and every breed since them has derived from those two. Recent DNA studies show that all canines possess similar traits, despite being different breeds. In fact, man himself has cross-bred breeds to create new ones. Could a wooden boat as big as Noah's Ark float even with modern waterproofing techniques used today?
I guess you would have to ask a shipbuilder about that, But it doesn't really matter as the Ark was not made from wood planks.
The Hebrew word translated “ark” is tevah (teivah) which means “basket”, the hebrew word kuphar can mean a plant or reed. The ark was not made from wood planks, it was
made from reeds! Up til the 1970’s a round reed boat called a kuphar was widely used in the Middle East for transporting people and goods because it very stable in the water.
Noah's Ark was not long and narrow, but round, circular. The same words translated as length and breadth can be used for the width of a circle and the circumference of a circle.
The idea that it was long and narrow comes from the fact that it’s the way boats were made in Europe at the time Scripture was translated. People understood according to western culture rather than Middle Eastern Hebraic culture.

    • @Xterraforce
      @Xterraforce Год назад +1

The problem with saying the ark was a circle and the measurements given are the width and circumference is the numbers don't add up. A circular vessel with a width (diameter) of 50 cubits would have a circumference of roughly 157 cubits, far short of what the Bible states. If the word translated as width actually meant radius that would get us very close to a circumference of 300. I do believe it wasn't shaped like a box and could have been circular or more of an oval. If 300 cubits were the circumference it would have been a vessel with roughly 7162 square cubits. If it were a perfect oval where 300 cubits and 50 cubits were the length and width it would have had roughly 11,781 square cubits. Using the same word as used for a reed basket doesn't really clarify whether the ark was a circle or something else since baskets can be made in different shapes with different dimensions but at the very least it could certainly give us a better idea of the overall construction of the ark. One question I have is if the measurement of 50 cubits was the radius of a circular vessel, why would the circumference also need to be given? That measurement wouldn't have been necessary since there would be no other possible circumference. With something more like an oval both length and width would have been necessary. I guess if we really want to know exactly how the ark was designed we'll have to ask Noah when we see him.

Design and Size. The ark (Heb., te·vahʹ; Gr., ki·bo·tosʹ) was a rectangular chestlike vessel presumably having square corners and a flat bottom. It needed no rounded bottom or sharp bow to cut rapidly through the water; it required no steering; its only functions were to be watertight and to stay afloat. A vessel so shaped is very stable, cannot be easily capsized, and contains about one third more storage space than ships of conventional design. There was a door provided in the side of the ark for loading and unloading the cargo.

  • @shopshop144

Part 1 never said how many animals were on the ark, except pairs. The speaker at the start does mention possible shapes of the ark which is fortunately. But saying the ark was as long and wide as a football field doesn't convince me that it could hold all the land animals, unless a pair of cows represents a huge amount of types. Like a small house cat also representing all cats (tigers, lions, etc.) A very small worm representing all snakes. But thinking only about large animals misses the point, as there are thousands of insects and other animal types. And the food for all these animals. But if we are going to allow a miracle to be used as part of collecting all the animals, then why can't we also credit miracles with all other problems and questions with trying to fit this account into a very narrow reading of Genesis? Isn't that missing the whole meaning of the story, of trusting God in difficult settings and that God can supply, whether that's for 100 animal pairs or 10,000? Why get caught up in arguing about details that aren't the point of the story.

In size the ark was 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. Conservatively calculating the cubit as 44.5 cm (17.5 in.) (some think the ancient cubit was nearer 56 or 61 cm), the ark measured 133.5 m by 22.3 m by 13.4 m (437 ft 6 in. × 72 ft 11 in. × 43 ft 9 in.), less than half the length of the ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2. This proportion of length to width (6 to 1) is used by modern naval architects. This gave the ark approximately 40,000 cu m (1,400,000 cu ft) in gross volume. No known cargo vessel of ancient times even slightly resembled the ark in its colossal size. Internally strengthened by adding two floors, the three decks thus provided gave a total of about 8,900 sq m (96,000 sq ft) of space.

Pure logic and scientific reasoning irrefutably lead to the existence of an intelligent Designer and Creator. The Bible encourages Faith based on knowledge and reason NOT credulity. It's fine to believe....but WHY do you believe. The truth does not fear investigation. God has given overwhelming proof of His existence. The problem is the pride and arrogance of humans who don't want to admit the truth because it makes them accountable to their Creator and as Jesus said..."men have loved the darkness rather than the light." Why did god flood the earth to eliminate evil when he had to have KNOWN, being all knowing, that it would fail? To me that makes him seem pretty evil. Why didn't god just kill the evil people and leave the rest of the world alone? Was he not ABLE to address just the evil? Why did god have Adam and Eve running around in the garden of Eden naked, in his likeness? Sounds like real time porn to me! Was god also naked when he was walking in the garden with Adam? If eating of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is what exposed Adam and Eve to the knowledge that they were naked, was it because they realized that god had lied to them about dying, and so judged much of everything else he had said as lies too? Did they then realize that god was a pervert and so they needed to cover their nakedness so that god would no longer get pleasure from seeing them naked in his garden? I suppose if you had created some creatures to get sexual pleasure from and they decided that they were going to cover themselves instead, it would make a pervert angry. How is it that the children of Israel were actually in the presence of the all mighty himself, yet it only took a few days for them to find another god? How does that make any sense? You have not seen your god and you believe, and they saw your god and did not believe, how can that possibly make any sense at all? Papyrus has been PROVEN to have been invented before the Hebrews even formed their first TRIBE. How is it then, that when they left Egypt, taking all the BEST of what the Egyptians owned, they failed to take a single sheet of papyrus to write anything on? There are a lot more questions, but I already know your answers, GOD DID IT! Or, I don't BELIEVE any of REALITY, I only believe what I have been taught is what GOD wants me to believe.
HERE Is a challenge for you and your god. I am sure you BELIEVE you are guided by the Holy Spirit, literally a portion of god itself telling you in your heart exactly what you need to know to BELIEVE in all that you spout. You pray and ask that holy spirit of yours what words would convince me this moment, from your next response exactly what is needed to convert me. Your god is all knowing and all powerful, and so far in my life, he has failed to manifest himself to me, so I am an unbeliever because so far that is what he wants me to be, that is also written in your bible. So, if you are guided by the Holy Spirit of God himself, your next response to me will be the only words that will convert me to belief in your god. If you are unable to provide those words, then your god is just as real as Zeus, Odin, Asherah and all of the other mythical gods throughout history.

While there are many land-dwelling, air-breathing animal species, there are only about 1,398 (the true number could even be a thousand or so) such kinds, including extinct ones. 7 pairs of each 'kind' of clean animal AND each kind of bird. And since "kind" is one of those words that seem to change meaning when creationists need it to you really can't say what you have. Kind would actually be more like SPECIES not FAMILY especially since creationists also don't believe in "macro evolution" which would be necessary on a massively accelerated scale if what you claim is true. In any case, it really doesn't matter that much because the Ark couldn't have carried enough food and water for a full year AND the earth would be totally sterile and empty when they finally left the ark at 1 year and either 10 or 17 days, depending on whether you accept Gen 7: 1-10 (7 days BEFORE the flood began) or Gen 7: 11-16 (the VERY DAY the flood began) as the day they boarded the ark. In point of fact the only way creationists can make this happen is to make the bible say things it really doesn't AND to make up "science", science that cannot be supported with evidence.
Oh yeah, BTW the Bible also says they brought all animals that had the breath of life in them (lungs), that would include whales, dolphins and porpoises.
Gen 7:1 The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.
Gen 7:2 Take with you SEVEN PAIRS OF EVERY KIND OF CLEAN ANIMAL, a male and its mate, AND ONE PAIR of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate,
Gen 7:3 and also SEVEN PAIRS OF EVERY KING OF BIRD, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth.
Gen 7:4 SEVEN DAYS FROM NOW I WILL SEND RAIN ON THE EARTH for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made."
Gen 7:5 And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.
Gen 7:6 Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth.
Gen 7:7 And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
Gen 7:8 Pairs of clean and unclean animals, of birds and of all creatures that move along the ground,
Gen 7:9 male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, as God had commanded Noah.
Gen 7:10 AND AFTER THE SEVEN DAYS the floodwaters came on the earth.
Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month-on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.
Gen 7:12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
Gen 7:13 ON THAT VERY DAY Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.
Gen 7:14 They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings.
Gen 7:15 Pairs of all creatures THAT HAVE THE BREATH OF LIFE IN THEM came to Noah and entered the ark.
Gen 7:16 The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.
They boarded either 7 days before or the very day of the 17th day of the 2nd month of Noah's 600th year, and they left the ark on (or after) the 27th day of the 2nd month of Noah's 601st year (Gen 8:13-19)
Gen 8:13 By the first day of the first month of Noah's six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.
Gen 8:14 By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.
Gen 8:15 Then God said to Noah,
Gen 8:16 "Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives.
Gen 8:17 Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you-the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground-so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number on it."
Gen 8:18 So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons' wives.
Gen 8:19 All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds-everything that moves on the earth-came out of the ark, one kind after another.

One has to wonder, if AIG actually believes the Flood and Noah's Ark story, why did they build their taxpayer funded boondoggle Ark as a museum instead of a floating zoo, and why did they build their zoo separate from their Ark on land that was more than 2 acres (the actual maximum usable surface area inside the Ark given the biblical dimensions), and why don't they staff their zoo with only 8 full time people? What is it I heard? Some 40 or more zoo personnel to do the job they insist only 8 people did with early bronze age tools and methods. Why did they not build their ark, fill it full of animals, with all the required food and water, and ONLY 8 humans, 4 male and 4 female, seal it up for a year and 17 days and then after all that time finally open it up for the whole world to see just how well it worked? 8 people feeding, watering and cleaning up after all those animals, day in and day out, for 382 days with only one one cubit opening in the ark near the ceiling. THAT might have went a long way to showing that their favored fable had some chance of being true. But instead they made up a showy, flashy boondoggle, some kind of slight of hand, shuck n jive presentation to awe and mystify, and pull the wool over the eyes of their gullible followers. There are reasons AIG didn't make the ark encounter to actually be like the bible boat they claim it represents, because they KNOW that it couldn't work.

When I was little, I asked my parents why the lions wouldn’t just eat the gazelle while in line for the ark. My mom simply said “God was in control”. This became the core foundation for every other question I had going forward. How were they able to store all the food? God helped. How did all the animals migrate to where they live now and adapted so quickly? God helped. It really is something you can’t refute. At the end of the day, judging by God’s current involvement in humanity, Noah’s ark story has way too many extraordinary details that must be patched with a “God did it” bandaid in order to be reconciled with reality. I personally don’t have that much faith, but I guess to each their own 🤷🏻‍♂️

One hypothetical hull concept was like a quart milk carton with pointed ends that lay on a flat side. The entry bay in an upright side was closed by a large door that served as a ramp when opened for loading of animals and supplies for the duration. As the flood waters rose, the hull floated to its upright position, ballasted to cause one corner of the box-like cross section to become the keel (rotating 45deg from its land based position). This rotated position would thus become very strong against broadside wave action and likely result in most of the vessel being below the water. When the flood waters receded, the ballasted box would have righted itself, allowing the door to open and become the exit ramp.

It would be interesting to know where on the ark the two blue whales went. They're pretty big, and they need a lot of food. They eat around 4 tonnes of krill every day, so if they were on the ark, they would have needed 8 tonnes of krill per day, The ark was afloat for about 7 months, so that's 210 days, times 8 tonnes per day, so that would require 1680 tonnes of krill . I"m going to say after putting the two blue whales, and they food, on board, there wouldn't have been a lot of room left for anything else. Yet there was still sperm whales, orcas, humpback whales, in fact quite a few whales, most of which are pretty big. Now, I already know what you're going to say, "The whales could have just stayed in the water". Well, as one Christian pointed out to me when I raised that point, all things that live in the water have their own needs. Specifically salt levels for salt water fish, and no salt for freshwater fish. On the other hand, if they did just stay in the water, please tell me why they weren't killed along with everything else? Did God have some special affection for fish and other marine creatures? If so, why? Was it only land animals that were sinful, and deserved killing? By the way, the ark was only about 1/4 the volume of the Titanic, which despite the name, wasn't an especially large vessel. trying to fit the several million land species, and their food, on the ark would have been a bit difficult, even if the whales were left out.

I take it you don't agree with that Christian's assessment. If you believe the fish weren't affected by the flood, I would ask why fish were left out of this catastrophe? And in fact why were animals included in the catastrophe? After all, there would have been billions of individual animals, none of which had anything to do with the sins of humans, so what was god's problem with them?

All this argument is an exercise in futility.
When we face our Maker, He will not ask if we think He created to universe 6000 odd years ago, or in a Big Bang some billions of years ago.
There are two passages in the Bible He will be interested in.
    1: Matthew 22:34-40
    The Greatest Commandment
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
    2: Acts 16
What must I do to be saved?
27] And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
[28] But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
[29] Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
[30] And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
[31] And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
One of Satan’s great successes is his success in dividing Christians on an issue that had nothing to do with their salvation.

It is pointed out so you believe the Bible to be both scientifically and historically accurate. When that is achieved you are forced to believe in God ( if you did not previously) and salvation of soul works its way in after that.

@@fnoce5948 The Bible is neither scientifically nor historically accurate, Consider this.
      We exist.
The only Being that can create something from nothing is God.
Jesus claimed to be God and the Christian church is based on the belief in this claim.
For nearly 2000 years His church has survived in spite of the evil and/or stupid people who have ruled it.
Any secular organisation would have disappeared long ago.
I am forced to the conclusion that it has been protected by God the
      Holy Spirit.
Therefore the claim that Jesus is God must be true.

I can't wait for the episode on how Noah's three sons repopulated the earth. Sure looks like cousins got frisky. But I'm guessing you have a explanation that avoids this issue. Can't wait to hear it!!

I agree with the idea, that it is difficult to see how the world was repopulated with the sons and girls that were there, true only a few, so inbreeding would have been an issue. But with God controlling everything, including genetics, it happened by His Grace. We are all here by His love and authority. Have a great day.

@@stevenrussell5340 Thanks for responding. One of the problems I have with Christianity is every time an issue comes up that presents some serious challenge to the doctrine, it's dismissed as, "With God all things are possible," or some variation of this.
For example, how is it possible Cain can have a wife? At this point in history we have Adam, Eve, and Cain. Who exactly is there for Cain to marry? And a line of descendants from a murderer?
