The first time I saw this, I had to go right back and watch it again. Several years later, I'm still stunned every time I see it. It's an incredible blurring of the lines between dance and gymnastics. Brilliant. Gene always was the best of the male film dancers. He should have been better known.

Definitely underrated, Michel. Gene is my favourite dancer of them all. He displays such grace and ease of movement in his performances. He makes the dances look effortless, and as we see here, he is super-talented. I never tire of watching him. He was a unique star.
