Cheers Brian, glad your enjoying the vids. As long as you don’t take chances with the sea, plan your trips all should be good. Do you fish from the kayak?

Cheers Grant, yeah it was as a strange trip this time for me, not many cod and more pollock and a double bonus with two no bad ling and great weather. Cheers for comment.

Cheers Nic, thanks for your comment, just want to say that you gave me inspiration to get a fishing kayak just from watching your videos last year.

Certainly some nice fish up there. I have only ever caught 1 ling around here when I was a kid it was 12lb caught on an old mackerel line baited with bits of sandeel

Thanks for your comment mate, enjoy watching your videos, I’m looking at making lobster and crab pots for the kayak, hopefully do something with that soon.

Where's the best place to launch to fish off Torness? As I've heard of horror stories of people's cars being damaged while they're away fishing....

Hi mate, I launch at Scateraw and never had any issues. There is a hight restriction tho for the road I think it’s 2.2m to stop vans and campers. Hope this helps👍

@@PiscatorUK-Fishing helps loads thanks! Only use a car to carry my yak, so the barrier shouldn't be a problem...

Hi. I am a new subscriber really enjoying your channel. Was just wondering watching this if you ever keep any Pollack for the table? I live on the South Cornish Coast. I have a small boat and have just bought a kayak for using on days/tides when the boat cant be used on the mooring. Must admit I eat a lot of Pollack but its probably not as good as Codling which I rarely get the chance to catch. Thanks for sharing

Gareth Grimshaw Hi Gareth and thanks for the sub and feedback very much appreciated👍. I do eat pollock it’s a very nice fish and more sustainable if we as fishermen don’t take everything we catch. Like most fish when eaten freshly caught pollock especially has a very delicate flavour not fishy at all but if not dried properly I feel can be a bit wishy washy. I prefer to put them in brine for an hour or two and dry them properly in the fridge for at least 24hrs before cooking. To be honest there’s not a lot of difference between pollock, haddock and cod when they are fresh. Thanks again

@@PiscatorUK-Fishing agree entirely. Must admit though if the fish are deeply hooked or bleeding its probably just as well to take them as chances of them surviving must be pretty low. Now as to kayaking I am out and out novice so your channel is very helpful. I've just bought a Galaxy Sturgeon and waiting for this awful weather to back off. I live in Gorran Haven on the South Cornish coast, just a few hundred yards from the Harbour so looking forward to having a go. Hoping to have a shot at squid soon. All the best
