"Element zero" has a name: neutronium. Technically not an element because it has no chemical properties, it's only stable under extreme gravity. Two neutrons won't bind without protons, and free neutrons, if not absorbed by nuclei, eventually decay into hydrogen.
@@andrewpatton5114 While the use of the term "element zero" was coined by a scientist, it's now used, colloquially, to refer to material in neutron stars. In the fictional Mass Effect universe, the descriptions of how the "element zero" (which is the substance that makes much of the fictional science of the universe work) is created hews closer to the idea of a large-nuclei element (containing protons) rather than free neutrons.
