Lemme get this straight: The woman literally just randomly decides to leave her loved one and tells him to dig a hole if he's thirsty instead of bringing water as he seeks her (because why not?) Then he gets charged for falling in love. The guy who made this was probably drunk.
The story behind the song: It was during the years when Philippines was under Spanish colonization. Rosing, a daughter of a wealthy Don, fell in love with a man named, Dandansoy, a mere hacienda worker. The Don knew about the relationship and wanted it to end. He told Rosing to go back home to Payao, a baranggay in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, so he can watch her and keep her away from Dandansoy. Rosing refused to leave but the Don issued a warning- if she doesn't leave, bad things might happen to Dandansoy. Saddened and worried at her father's warning, Rosing wrote and sang this song to Dandansoy. She had no choice but to go back to Payao.
The girls voice is so pretty, back in 5th grade my music teacher showed this to the class and I remembered how memorized I was because the voice is just so beautiful, I also remembered feeling sad when watching this I never really understood the story I thought the girl left the boy and the boy followed her and he went on a long journey to find her, then he got arrested for trespassing but still managed to find his lover which is the girl and then they got married. I'm grateful that this song suddenly popped up in my head it brings back the memories when we were still in f2f :')
this feels like a plot & Music atmosphere that I should be seeing in a Vocaloid Song. You know what and I love it wish there were more Filipino Songs pushing boundaries.

I remember this, my grandma used to sing this to me when i was a little girl, she isnt dead, but i hope she would live on, she was the sweetest ever, Love you Grandma 😊
