Guys, I’m starting to think Cody’s dad is Dusty Rhodes
What makes you say that??
You might be right. 😭
Wait till you find out who his brother is😮
No
Good call... If cody cries then it must be true😂
I think Cody’s return was announced ahead of time so that when #30 was coming out, the crowd wasn’t waiting for Sami or the Rock to come out
Cody would've still been an acceptable surprise at 30. This isn't like Rey Mysterio coming out at 30 in 2014 (as someone with no story warranting a win, taking the potential place of someone else with a very clear story warranting a win).
I think it was to drum up as much interest as possible in the show. Because by announcing Cody in advance, you can now slap his face on all the posters and promotional materials. Announcing that the Rumble is the return of Cody Rhodes helps boost ticket sales.
@@Viper017 even if you want to announce his return, you don't have to bring him in at 30 or announce what number he's got. That turns him from a character to support into just a corporate prop. That's taking an organically over babyface and turning him into the most hated version of Roman Reigns.
@@Viper017 why put him at 30 though, hell if he was in any position under 15 it would be even better because then they can advertise that he's gonna be there for a significant amount of the rumble
They should have had Cody come out at #29: Build that suspense before crushing everyone's dreams by having Logan Paul come out at #30. Nuclear heat the WWE want to have on him anyway, and they can play it off as the plan all along when Sami turns face and gets his match on the road to Wrestlemania.
"The butcher agreed: Dusty WAS Cody's father, and so Cody began to cry."
I can't fathom a more perfect summary of Cody's promos than that.
Adam is just one of the most creative wrestling bookers out there. Not only did he write a compelling story about Cody finishing the story but he found a way to write the end of the Bloodline story within that storyline. Simply brilliant!
its fanfiction by a failed wrestling promoter of a bankrupt wrestling promotion.
@blitzofchaosgaming6737 it sure is, and it's better than what WWE have done so far
@@jacohenn42 The problem is Adam said he would have booked Drew to beat Roman at Clash at the Castle. He doesn't build the story, he just violates the copyright to make himself look smart by changing the ending and never in a way that matches his previous fan fiction. He doesn't do any of the world building. When he attempted to do world building, he totally and utterly failed.
@@blitzofchaosgaming6737 why would they have to match? They're separate bookings lol
Rebooking it is easy. Just have him win at Mania 39. Done
The Rumble match and buildup to Mania from the Rumble need rebooking to make it better
@@SimplyAlex312 winning from 1/2/3 has been overdone so much, it needs not to happen for at least 10 years
That time with father's line at the end was A+ 10/10 genius creativity
How to book Cody winning at WrestleMania:
Have Cody win at WrestleMania
wrestling is easy
it's so easy I don't understand why wwe always gets it wrong
I think we can all agree, this is the first time adams been out booked by wwe, the ending to the story was pretty great
tbh they almost fucked it with the rock. they got bullied into doing it right
@@peanut224it honestly doesn't seem that simple to me, it seems like they threw the Rock and to try and see how fans would react to it, to see if people actually wanted Cody in the main event (plus I mean, they didn't claim that this was always the plan so I'm inclined to think that it is, because when WWE claims that something they didn't want to do was always the plan it usually isn't the plan, and vice versa
"The time we have with our fathers, it runs out too quickly" Adam you got me right in the feels 🥺
How to book Cody finishing the story. Go back in time and have Cody beat Roman at WrestleMania 39
My thoughts exactly have Cody beat Roman and he could've have still do the Brock lesnar stuff and you could still do the bloodline civil war story but Roman would have a legitimate reason to be mad at the Usos
What a perfect way to end this work week!
One thing I’ve noticed, and it MIGHT be a coincidence, is that at 2 very specific times, Cody’s presentation has been heavily undermined. “Close but not good enough… because you didn’t become a star HERE”. Almost like how a certain wrestling promoter whether he thinks he is or not has treated any superstar with the last name Rhodes.
I say stretch it to mania. In this months case have dom beat cody via Brock. Really hammer home that Cody had the worst year of his career, and let him be sarcastic about losing to Dominik in the records, stuff like that makes him funny and relatable. Put him in the rumble at #1, and have him lose to Gunther who enters at #30, shades of the previous year. At that point you have Cody do the Shawn Michaels undertaker rematch story but with Roman ofc. Wether he wins the chamber or forces Roman’s hand, he gets the match. If you have him win the rumble again he’ll be at risk of being booed.
@@kenadamsbusinessfirm2435 I would agree with you. I just don’t have faith in WWE to tell a story like that with Vince at the helm who can’t help himself. 40 years of evidence shows he isn’t willing to put over someone who’s not “one of his guys” unless they’re battering Shane at Mania. Even then Shane got way too much offense against AJ.
I think Cody got hustled personally. Him leaving really undermined AEW’s image and WWE knew that. Do enough to prove your point, hurt AEW’s ratings, then bury the bastard. Have him riding high until you get to embarrass him at the biggest stage.
@@Bman32x
Drew didn't become a star HERE either, yet he went over Vince's favourite Brock in the main event of Mania. Cody just like Drew at the end is a WWE home grown talent, that's a big plus. Someone like AJ styles who was neither a home grown talent or became a star HERE was given gold after gold after gold in WWE, even a year long WWE title run by Vince. So it's not that hard to see if they didn't want to just hand everything to Cody at once instead of making his chase for the world title actually with some obstacles.
The real story. Was the friends we made along the way.
I had no problem with Cody winning the Rumble because Sami wasn't in it. I had no problem with Sami losing at Elimination Chamber because Cody was around the corner, ready to win. Hey, Sami and KO won against the Usos, this is probably gonna be the best 2 Night Wrestlemania so far! Oh no! Cody lost and now the story is in a Brockilogue. There is a problem.
I honestly agree with Adam, I think Cody works way better in WWE than AEW
Face Cody. Heel Cody is what the AEW fans loved from NJPW. They didn't want cornball cringe Cody.
@@kimchi2780also cody had way too much power in aew
The Rikishi angle was inspired, I didn't realize what you were doing with that until the line Cody gave to Solo. Incredible
WWE really does make wrestling harder than it needs to be too often.
Hey we've got this dominant heel champion who says he's all about his family's legacy (even though he's clearly mostly out for himself). Wouldn't it be cool if we had a legitimate babyface challenger who had his own wrestling family legacy to fight for? So we'd get to honor the past, present, and future of this business in the main event of our biggest show, for our most prestigious title?
So, you know, we could actually make that "Then. Now. Forever. Together" line more than just a cheesy corporate slogan? Or actually acknowledge the reality that wrestling fans already know, namely that "Wrestling has more than one royal family"?
🤬
You don’t think WWE has acknowledged that there is more than one royal family? That was half of the wrestlmania build. Every other Cody promo is about his family. The things you wanted happened. He just lost to Roman.
@@DaPrince135 more than one ROYAL family implies that another family can be CROWNED. The point isn't made without the title change.
@@rabbijoe316 To you. Yes I agree
It'd be cool to see a what if on WWE giving Muhammad Hassan the push he was planned to get. Beating Undertaker at the Great American Bash, beating Batista for the World title, etc.
It's not that the timing for his terrorist attack was awful. It's that launching a terrorist attack after insisting that he wasn't s terrorist made no sense at all. If anything, he should have gotten framed for the attack! That sounds like a Triple H-level plan, frankly.
Hassan is a heat magnet, everyone he faces suddenly become the biggest face in the company but truth be told, like how hassan said,if hassan gimmick is in today era, he would be cheered the heck out
Cody Rhodes' WWE story is perfect fodder for Adam; very little wrestling and so much more soap opera. Plumpy has always said the worst part about wrestling is the wrestling.
Well, it is. Story, charisma and mic work is always better.
It's funny how much it's changed in just the month since this was released on Patreon with the fire behind LA Knight for money in the bank, but I really like the briefcase line.
I would’ve referenced how he’s not just doing it for Dusty. It’s also 2 different lineages colliding (“wrestling has more than one royal family”).
He built a name for himself outside of WWE & now he’s back to prove everyone wrong by dethroning the guy that was hand-chosen to be the top guy.
I also would’ve had the Bloodline walk out on him 1-by-1 during their match starting with Jey & ending with Solo. That way he loses his tribe & takes a clean pin to make the moment feel as triumphant as possible.
Cody then creates a modern Winged Eagle version of the Undisputed WWE Championship and retires the Universal title since no one is beating Roman.
Or another idea; when Solo Sikoa goes out to interfere, someone else goes out there to help Cody, like Bron Breakker, a fellow wrestler from a famous family, Cody wins, Bron then turns heel by attacking Cody after the match and that's the next feud, NXT champion vs World champion.
"The time we have left with our fathers, it runs out too quickly. Trust me on that one."
As someone whose father passed away 5 years ago, this actually hit me.
Always an amazing job on these videos.
Pretty cool seeing Adam return to the WC days with the storytime at the beginning. I love those original videos. Especially the Michael Cole one. The 'Oh my!!! Electric Corn Flakes!' always kills me. I still impersonate that particular oh my every time I mimic Maggle lol
The Bork Lazer book was awesome lol
My biggest criticism with Adams bookings in general is the use of multiple consecutive finishers. Solo spiking Jey just twice would be great, adding more thereafter just reduces their meaning
Plus use of lead pipes, tournaments, super/avalanche finishers, person returns but initially doesn't speak, wrestlers can't make physical contact till the big match, masked men attacks, low blow finishes, etc
@@Grizzexploderthats fantasy booking and why it should be kept away from the real bookers.
@@Grizzexploder ok but tournaments are fun
Nice touch posting this on Cody’s birthday 👌
Hi Adam, consider that jam jammed.
Thanks for the awesome content!
Maaaaan how are you SO GOOD at coming up with lines? That Paul Heyman promo at 18:25 sounded legit af
I think I understand the "lack of adversity" thing. Cody Rhodes does have a great story leaving WWE and his time in NWA, ROH, NJPW, and starting AEW and returning to WWE to win the big one. However, that wasn't the story being told in the build to his match against Roman at Mania. He comes back from an injury in a storyline unrelated to Roman, gets the Royal Rumble win on a silver platter at #30 and cuts a bunch of promos about Dusty most of the time with a couple jabs at Roman here and there. The promo Cody cut 8 days after Mania and the first Brock attack SHOULD'VE been the story in the lead up to Mania. But this is just my take, what y'all think?
I was always confused why Cody entered the Rumble at 30 tbh, it would've been nicer to sell his comeback with a pseudo iron man performance from like number 5 or 10, maybe recreate Austin's first rumble win with WWE leaving him alone in the ring multiple times to confirm to the fans "this is the guy right?"
I also imagine there probably WAS meant to be an adversity arch prior to Cody getting injured
@@noname-hf9tyit did feel a bit like whatever direction they were doing got a hard detour in December. The rise of Sami Zayn, Vince coming back and I can’t be convinced he didn’t interfere creatively.
The issue I take with his "lack of adversity" is the fact his WHOLE career up to his return at Mania WAS the adversity. A solid workhorse born into a family of them that Vince never let get anywhere because NWA and such turned into a joke just like his father until eventually leaving. Making his way up the ranks on the indies trying to establish himself as someone that CAN carry a company on his back even starting a rival promotion but eventually going back to win the title his father never was allowed to. That is the most outside-the-ring adversity you could possibly get.
@@switchblade6they couldn't cope with the adversity being the story of him being somewhere else. It has to be a story build wholly in WWE, or it didn't happen
The funny thing is that despite this being a month out of date, this could actually still happen once Roman's business with Jimmy and Jey is done with.
That line about "the time we have with our fathers" is soooo gooood! Props to you Adam
My part for Lesnar reason to attack Cody was that Lesnar doesn’t think Cody should’ve main event Wrestlemania over him, and Lesnar can’t live with his own failure from Wrestlemania last year.
“If I can’t do it, why do you think you can do it?”
And after Cody beating Lesnar at Summerslam (spoiler from this episode because it was made before NoC), Lesnar finally admitted that Cody IS the one to beat Roman. Cowboy hat tip, and Lesnar walks away, giving Cody so much respect for beating him
That was one of the better Adam bookings recently. Would make for great TV
I love the new transition after "Let me have a go".
You are Just a pure creative Genius. Love you since many years ❤
Really really wanna see how Adam would book
THE REFEREE STRIKE
Been looking for this all week, NOT disappointed 😎
I’ve been waiting for this one!!!
The beginning part reminded me of Adams old video series Superstar diarys.
This might be a reach but could you book Miz breaking Chris Jericho's Intercontinental Championship record 🤷♂
LA KNIGHT is your new Mr. Money in the bank and that’s not an insult that is just a fact of life YEAH
I liked all of it a lot, except that I don't think we need to give Cody the mitb briefcase for this. Let trips add him to a smackdown gauntlet match which he ofcourse has to start or smth like that. That way we can give the briefcase to someone who will actually benefit from it
When Adam goes off on a tangent it's always entertaining to see
My phone was in my pocket, and it rewinded after he said ‘Cornballs’ to “The End” and it took me out 😂😂😂
Loving the new logo 👀
Cody needs to win this, i dont care how the reign is, we just need to see him holding that strap
He's so crap, I don't like him at all
I need him to win AND have a good title reign. I don't need a thousand days of gaslighting and family drama but I do need a good, solid "ima face all challengers" run with a bunch of bangers
@@Lynch2507true that, just let him cook for awhile and put on 15-30 minute great matches
Jey needs to win it
Cody has no business with the bloodline storyline and his story is cringy and stupid
@@willg1088 they should've put jey in mitb, have Cody win the title at like SummerSlam, Jey Cashes in, and then later on down the line roman finally challenges Jey for the title, flipping the script from 2020
Yes!!! I knew it was coming .... Just made my day ..thank you Adam
actual wild how you've almost got the bloodline aspect of this storyline perfectly
Fr I caught myself going "that's actually what happened" about the Bloodline parts like three times
This intro reminded me of the Wrestlers Diaries videos Adam made on *name redacted*
Plz bring those here!!
I liked what they actually did more than this booking
Amazing as usual Adam 👏
Left everything I was doing just to watch this masterpiece✨
The Schrodinger joke was amazing.! I'm a sucker for Schrodinger references, I'm going to use that if I ever can lol
THAT 👏🏽 WAS 👏🏽 EPIC 👏🏽‼️
Incredible! This is adams best booking video
Had to pause mid video, just to comment how great it is to hear Adam say "your Uce"
Adam suggesting a tournament?!? I would have never thought it would happen! 😜😆
Always worth a listen :)
"Samoan Smaug" might just be the most perfect description I've ever heard of the tribal chief character 😂😂
Hats off to you.
YUS ANOTHER ONE
LET'S GOOOO
PLEASE do a video on how you would rebook Wardlow post-DoN 2022. TK dropped the ball sooooo hard with Wardlow after his feud with MJF. Yeah, it didn't help him that Max's whole 'plane ride' thing was the bigger story, but surely AEW could've benefitted greatly from having a big dude who moves like a cruiserweight dominating the main event scene for a while.
"Oh hello, I didn't see you there"
Man I think Adam needs glasses, we catch him off guard way too often.
How accurate the Jey kicking solo angle happened compared to real life
Here’s a suggestion for a future episode: How Adam Would Book… Lex Luger, American Hero
With the comparison to Drew, somehow forgot to mention getting absolutely jacked
This is great, I think in addition to after this story is done, Solo & The Uso’s team together. Maybe they can hold a US Championship & Tag Championships at the same time
22:06 Yep, I think we all can relate to that.
"I've torn my entire boobie tit" made me crack up already.
0:57 Cue me in line at Best Buy with my laptop, trying to think of an adult and dignified explanation for how it got soaked in projectile Coke Zero
Missed a huge opportunity to write "All Rhodes lead to the Roman Empire"
eerie how close he got to some of the stuff actually happening
They should book the rikishi angle this instant but where triple h had you on this one (and hindsight is 20/20, of course) is having Jey get that pin fall. I’m not sure how they get Cody back into the fold from here but here’s hoping man. And I hope it’s at Mania 40!
Oooh, that line from Cody to Solo would have been epic.
This is funny to me because you released it a month after the PPV
Now theres 4 titles. Glad to see that the tribal heyman is double champ though
This would be awesome
Another difference, Cody actually is loved by the hardcore fans. Not all of em, but a number of them
I hope we ever get a Cesaro booking video
Cody's still being booked pretty strongly right now, but the direction they're going with him is unclear. I thought he and Roman would have a rematch at SummerSlam, but he may be facing Brock instead. I just don't know what the long-term plan is for him right now. Also, the narrative that Cody "did not go through any advertisity" is ridiculous, and Idk where the hell that came from. Also, suggestions for the next video:
Natalya
Muhammad Hassan
Cesaro
Aces & Eights
Randy Orton's Return
Big E's Return
Edge's Final Run
The Hurt Business
Dean Ambrose: WWE Champion
Sheamus: World Heavyweight Champion
The Riott Squad
Mickie James
The League of Nations
Samoa Joe
Bobby Roode
Nice!!!
I would pay good money to see Paul Heyman receive cross roads. I don't think it would be as bad as Vince getting stunner. But it would be still gloriously hilarious.
Almost brilliant except for the end. Roman should NOT lose because of direct interference. It would take away from Cody winning. Try this instead. Solo grabs Cody, he thinks about doing it, but in the first row suddenly appears Rikishi, Solo stares at him, stares at Roman, remembers Cody's words...doesn't hit Cody, doesn't hit Roman, he just leaves with his father. Cody and Roman remain alone, Cody wins clean because at last, Roman was the Chief with no Tribe thus Roman with no reigns.
So good
Literally 1:50 in and I have to pause because I cannot stop belly laughing. Very well done!
19:18 🎵'You talk too much! You never shut up. I said you talk too much!'🎵
That would be an inevitable source of that bit by dear old Maffew.
21:04 I know adam was smirking when we wrote that one down 😭😭
let's see how well this ages 🧐
Hey Adam i've been watching these videos for years and am a big fan. Here's my suggestion for a future booking....
"How Adam would book.....the New Blood vs the Millionaire's Club"
I'd love to see you book LOD 2000
Adam: UK fans would be kind to the match
UK fans: football chants and beach balls to entertain themselves
I like what Adam did there @16:13
Hey you should rebook Asuka’s main roster run. She deserved a lot better
Perfection.
That was a Hunter Hurst Helmsley level burial at the beginning their Adam 😂
Samoan Smaug popped me good 😂
You know watching this after MITB. This was pretty good ideas that were done. Save the fact that the Bloodline Civil War had already started. The bit about Jimmy watching Jey get spiked was almost perfect .
He is really good at these.
The current fumbling of the Cody/Bloodline story is proof that WWE have lost their touch. Soap Opera writers don't care about titles or finishing storylines, and it's on full display here. Cody only has one opportunity left if he's intended to win before Mania, and that's becoming the 1st ever back-to-back Royal Rumble winner. And as much as I want Cody to be the new champ, I don't want him winning the Rumble twice in a row when there are better people to have in that spot. Hope WWE finds a way to tie this together, because this story currently blows.
Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin have all won back-to-back Rumbles.
HBK won 95,96 Austin won 97,98
Pretty interesting how not off Adam was on the bloodline stuff in this video.
