This is one of the great girl groups from the 50's. Their 2 biggest hits were "Lollipop" & "Mr. Sandman". But they had other good songs such as "Never On A Sunday", "Eddie My Love", "Born To Be With You", "Lay Down Your Arms", "Just Between You & Me" etc.
You commented that it sounded like a commercial. However, those of us who are old enough realize the truth: Commercial jingles sound like them. THEY came first.
First time I ever heard this song was in Back to the Future. Marty travels back to the late 50s and this song is playing when he's trying to reconcile what he's seeing with what he can believe- a true dream-like state. Always stuck with me.
PS the guy mouthing yes was Dick Clark. Palliachi was a character in an opera but forget which one. I am old and sometimes my filing cabinet gets disorganized, lol.
I hardly know any songs from that period. This one is my favorite from those years. wonderful. I learned a lot of songs from video games. As far as I remember, one of the Fallout games had this song.
You should react to Jay and the Americans-Come A Little Closer. An excellent old-school song, from this decade period(50’s-70’s)but also very prevalent in guardians of the galaxy.
Check out The McGuire Sisters "May You Always". I was raised on the music of the 40s, 50s and 60s as a kid and there are so many interesting songs. Also, Connie Francis "Where the Boys Are".
mr sandman~ bring me a dream make him the cutest that i've ever seen give him the word that i'm not a roamer and tell him that his lonesome nights are over~
If you didn’t figure out what Pagliacci is, or why they mention him(it’s a little weird), it’s an Italian opera from 1892. About an traveling acting troupe that performs the story of Pagliacci. Thing is, it involves(if I understand it correctly) a love triangle, within a love triangle, that begets betrayal, sorrow, and eventually, murder. I’ve never actually seen it, or heard it(?). Besides the character being mentioned here, I also know it from Tears Of A Clown by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles(and later the cover by The English Beat). Even though it looks like they were around for about 12 years, I think the only other song I know is called Lollipop.
Pagliacci is also the subject of a *very* famous joke. A man who is severely depressed goes in to see the doctor and, after hearing the man's tale of woe, says "I have just the thing for you. Tonight, here in town, the famous clown Pagliacci is performing. I suggest you go see him. It will cheer you right up." The man then looks at the doctor with tears in his eyes and says "But doctor, I *am* Pagliacci."
Glad to see your doing well after the whole tornado fiasco! This is a good song from all the way back in the 50s. Another good song from way back thats just fun to sing along with and has a funny video is "splish splash". Many young people think their serious parents were always that serious but im sure many didnt realise they had bathroom humor all the way back in the 50s lol.
Hey man I know you like comical stuff so you should definitely check out After Ever After Disney Parody by Paint. There are 3 of them, And they're fucking hilarious.
I thought it would be Country Roads, Take Me Home. Never got around to Fallout 76. By the time I was ready the bad reviews had pushed down my interest.
@@GeraldWalls I played it after the NPC update. The main campaign does feel pretty lonely if you are playing alone, since all the stories were narrated through texts and recordings. Kinda like the Lonesome Road DLC. I didn’t t complete the last few missions in the campaign cause it’s too tedious for single player. Though it’s pretty cool to come across random players.
@@Tony-rh2lp Gotta say I loved all of the F:NV DLCs. I found nothing wrong about that game. All of the companions had their endearing qualities. I'm glad I was able get Veronica her dress.

They were from my hometown. Glad you enjoyed it.
Love the girl groups from this era. Such perky songs. Another great group is the McGuire Sisters.

Pagliacci by Leoncavallo
I love this‼️🤗💕
Great reaction, i was 9 years old when I first heard this on my sister's transistor radio now I'm 71 listening to it on a computer LOL!
This is music. I love the old time stuff. Pure talent, no auto-tune. It just hits the soul.
The second I hear this song my mind goes to Marty McFly walking through 1955 Hill Valley in Back to the Future.
The Sandman brings sleep. That's why you have sand in your eyes when you wake up.
My mom had a Your Hit Parade (a TV show that played top radio hits) album with this on it.

i feel like this is the type of music you have to just respect
Everytime I hear this song, just brings back memories of Halloween movie.
glad to see he's okay
love you Lboyd ❤
There's a Korean group called Barbarette's who cover a lot of these style songs and sound amazing!
Love it

Mr. Sandman is also the god of dreams and nightmares
Pretty sure it's been a jingle more than once. I also seem to recall a remake back in the 70s.
mr sandman~
bring me a dream
make him the cutest that i've ever seen
give him the word that i'm not a roamer
and tell him that his lonesome nights are over~
I've heard this song 100 times and never knew who sang it.
While not the version by The Chordettes, but the one by The Four Acres, Sandman is used in the original Back To the Future movie.
the Chordettes had another killer song ''Soft Sands''
newfangled four are a fun group to listen to as well

It was used by enterprising mattress company's and so on.....their other hit was lollipop......
It is catchy
When you said a tornado swept through your house, I thought everything was destroyed! Hmm. And of course it's good you're alive and doing well! 🙏
You have to do Connie Boswell, jazz singer in the 20's and 30s... Ella Fitzgerald's idol and favorite singer..
I remember first hearing this song at the end of a horror movie.
I want to watch Halloween now

Autotune not required.
Favorite song when roaming around post war West Virginia 😏

Michael Myers daytime theme :)
And lots of wavy hair like Liberace."
Liberace himself, however, would be uninterested. ;)
