PBS, is it possible to continue to conduct interviews with our kūpuna today? These oral interviews are what preserves the legacy of our prominent kanaka ʻōiwi figures. I love these videos!
What a lovely woman she was. I would have never known about her until you introduced her thank you
Incredible film I’m so glad to come across this.
She would have been born in 1892. Can you imagine what she witnessed in her long illustrious life? Great singing and good guitar.
My goodness, what a life! Thank god this was recorded. Imagine meeting Queen Liliʻuokalani regularly as a child and living long enough to tell about it. Absolutely fascinating!
I remember Auntie Alice. She taught me the hula at age four. I had no idea all those years ago what a legend she was. But I knew she was kind inside and out.
Amazing interview!
🌴😎❤️ forever grateful.
