Enjoyed your video very much. I have a lot of 4 board fence to install but keep procrastinating. You motivated me to get out there and finish it up. The girls will always remember these great times with pride. Good job!
Thanks. It was a lot of work... especially with the rock and clay I had to dig through. But it was well worth it and glad I went the 4 board route. Thanks for watching.
Just found your channel and my wife and I are binge watching your videos, particularly the framing and plumbing videos. We are constructing a steel building and about to start framing a bathroom and office inside. Your videos are quite helpful!
Video is a couple years old, but I was taught that the planks should be nailed/screwed to the inside of the posts (on the pasture side), so that it's harder for horses to pop out the rails if they lean on them with their butts or chests. Maybe this is only necessary for nailed boards, though.
This beautiful, I noticed you placed boards on the outside most areas, but then went on the inside??? Is it because the outta property belongs to the neighbors?
The fence posts are mainly 4/5 treated rounds from Tractor Supply. Corner and Gate posts are 6/7 inch. The rails are 1x6 treated decking boards. 2x6 would be better, but these are holding up well with our horses.
This is the perfect video for me, because I need to build a fence, but I have the construction skills of a young teenager.
its little things like this that will make them 10x more independent than any rally or politician
You train young people well. It's a mix of guidance, allowing trial and error, and working with their personalities. Fence is looking great!
Strong fathers = strong daughters
👍😀👍
We just bought a little ranch in TX, nearly 1.5 acres and it needs to be fenced so this is very helpful. Thank you!
Wow this is what learning should be like.
Raising them right! Good job!
I have worked with youth for many years and I got to say, love these girls attitude. They make the video. lol
Love that you are training up your daughter and teaching her through practical life skills. We have 4 ourselves and try to do the same.
This is amazing. Younglings enjoying work is all in the mentor being a good person. Love seeing people happy while doing hard work

Very impressive helpers you have. My tween and teen will be helping build our similar fence in a few weeks as well.

Great jobs guys. :)
How thick of boards did you use? It looks great btw!

AND THEY AREN'T ON BOOKFACE!!! YES!!!
Just watched your great video. Should be very proud of those Girls. How many acres did you fence off and approx how many posts did you use. Thanks
So how’s the fence holding up? I’m thinking of using deck boards also
The children yearn for the mines
❤️
Looks great. Did you use 8ft poles?
Thank you. Yes, 8ft. Buried 2-3 ft, and then cut off any excess on top above top rail around the 4' 6" mark.
What size posts are those. And what size 2 bys?

Why do you keep putting the rails on the outside of the posts? Rookie mistake.
Can you give a ball park of total cost?
A lot
unsolicited tip Charge your batteries prior to starting the project
Those posts are way too far apart!
