With regards to deluxe editions, i normally agree but recently I liked it when static dress did their redux edition. All the songs were essentially redone and there were some cool features

Bands have been doing "Deluxe" editions for the same reason they release almost every song as a single before the album drops now - it's all for and about the streaming numbers and metrics of listener engagement. It doesn't make it less dumb, but it's how the game is more or less played currently.
