Arguably the best looking classic retro motorcycle in indian market today. Great Review Sarge...Keeping it Authentic and Genuine .... No reading between the lines..mincing of words etc.
Owned a Yezdi CL2, I used to be team Jawa / Yezdi, now own an Interceptor 650 that I've turned into a project bike. Jawa / Yezdi still has a part of my heart. I WISH they'd work on their chassis. I love how amazingly the old Yezdi used to handle and the confidence it gave me in the corner.. That footpeg was solid, and I've dragged it on tarmac multiple times. I don't find this much confidence riding the new ones. Newer Yezdis aren't cutting it. I REALLY wish they could go for a twin cylinder design to give it something closer in terms of the sound. Guess my wait continues.
Yep. But more importantly, I WISH they did more on the chassis front. I can see other Indian OEMs stepping up their game by a lot over the last few years.
I still remember it was YOUR video that made me buy the jawa classic back in 2021. ❤ Though i upgraded the jawa to a continental gt650, it feels nostalgic watching this video. Kudos Sarge ❤
@@dpositive552any backstory about it? I've been watching Sarge's videos since Ninja 300 and I love his content. Is there any backstory about him for leaving powerdrift?
@@droid6759 actually this guy is doing the best works I ever seen. I saw a few old videos of powerdrift and I can say he got really good vibes here as well. It's not comparable both are perfect
I think they have updated thinking people in mind. This bike looks little bigger, so the agility of old is gone, they have increased tyre size too. One of the complaint I used to heard about Old Jawa was it looks tiny and seats are not well padded. I think they have solved both. Coming to engine I think they reduced the power to have a torque bike. One thing i would like to say is this bike really looks classic than all other classic bikes. The chrome here is perfect.
I like the fact that Mahindra has worked to bring back the legendary names of yesteryears. But they really need to work on improving and upgrading the products with a lot more conviction. The improvements to the engine are welcome, but they have got to work on so many niggles. And they also need to focus on tuning the engine characteristics to suit each model individually. E.g. Jawa classic should focus on being an easy and torquey commuter with a pliant ride like the RE classic 350, while the 42 should be a little more sporty. Such attention to details for each model would lend a distinct character and purpose instead of just cosmetic differentiation. I really love the way the Jawa 42 Bobber and Yezdi Scrambler look. But matching engine characteristics and fine tuning riding dynamics for their respective purposes (while also upgrading the after sales experience) would elevate them in no small measure.
eagerly waiting sarge......just wanted to ask, will you post reviews of bikes already in market for long but not a major attraction for majority, like a dominar 400. Would love to see you do things that you do so effortlessly😂 and on not so optimal machine once again and shock us all😄😄
I did tried out the Jawa 42 2.0 which was the updated model with 293 cc engine for a little bit of time. I was impressed by how it goes off the line so well as soon as I release the clutch, and when opened the throttle, the bike responded well and moves forward quickly. Coming to this bike, the name is good JAWA 350, but I find this bike missing out on a grab rail, pillion backrest, USB charger etc. But I have one question, can we see this bike with tubeless tyres anytime soon, along with a black color variant too?
Is the bike tractable like Royal enfield classic? Bcoz the power is down to 22 hp which is slightly higher than RE and what abt the vibrations that were existent on the previous Jawa model?
I think this bike needs tubeless tyre alloy wheels variant in order to sell in better numbers because even with these improvements people will still go for the Jawa 42 version 2.1 which had been updated in 2023 with Yezdi's instrument console and better seat cushioning , suspension and better GC with alloy wheels. That no option of alloy wheels has always been its achilles heel since the beginning. Anyway Sarge i loved your honest yet cinematic review of Jawa 350 because others haven't been this honest with Jawa 350. Keep it up Bro ❤ 🙌😌
With all of its shortcomings, I still love this bike for the way it looks. I'm a sucker for retro designs and I think Jawa has hit the nail on the head with the design front, at least. On the engine front, I think they are trying to match it with the overall "retro" character of the bike. The previous bike had some identity crisis in this regard. The design was saying one thing and the engine was singing a different tune.
I live in Asaam. I don't know why all all all the jawa yezdis i have seen on road have some misalignment in the rear part of the bike. Such as number plate is lil misalignment, indicators bend, taillight tilted, etc. What could be the possible reason? 🧐
Looks more delicious now and close to og jawa. They just need to work on after sale service to improve the overall experience and part availability is an issue with jawa even in Delhi many have faced this. Plus a classic motorcycle with spoke wheels coming out of factory without a centre/ main stand should be criminalised😅. Should be already there not sold as an accessory.
Mate, you have a team great photographers & researchers. Upload a video of just riding this bike. Like a POV with some tweaks, and no talk. Just engine sound.
They added so much weight to this bike, I believe mostly thanks to that 334cc mill but they didn't elongate that swing arm leaving rider-passenger footpeg gap unaddressed. What a let down.
As much as I love and adore the Jawa brand, with their DKW inspired heritage, the current Jawa rebirth has not lived up to it. The fit and finish leaves a lot to be desired and it feels like a substantially cheaper motorcycle than it actually is. Sad actually.
Sagar, have only one question: Can the Indian brands face the competition from Japan, European, American, Chinese brands. Does our companies have it in themselves ro face them.
