amazing how all my fears during presale actually happened LMAO like i said “it’s a presale we shouldn’t run out of tickets”, "what if the codes don't work" but then………………. bye
i'm convinced ticketmaster have you go through all that stress (queues, waiting, pausing the queue, throwing you back to the end of the queue etc) just so that when you FINALLY get through, they raise the prices (i've heard of people who SAW the prices go up as they were clicking on the seats) and you go into panic mode and buy them at those extortionate sums. i'm happy you got a ticket but i'm also sorry they were so expensive!! i'm curious to see how this legal thing they have going now is gonna play out
and i also think taylor has more say in this than what some fans think... but i do think there are some things she can't legally talk about right now, like you said. i hope she finds those ways to improve ticket sales that she addressed in her statement
@@rebellexfleur I'm not sure if Taylor really did have a bigger say that what she's implying. It's been discovered that Ticketmaster allowed people to buy tickets that didn't have any presale codes and the website that majority of the tickets were ending up on and being re sold for the thousands of dollars is a website that's exclusively owned by Ticketmaster as well. So Ticketmaster was allowing tickets to resold for the thousands of dollars. Like I'm talking about some tickets were going for as much as 100,000$. Taylor doesn't profit off the tickets being resold for those thousands of dollars. But Ticketmaster would since they own that re sale site. This isn't the first time Ticketmaster has gotten in trouble for this. Ticketmaster has been sued before by other artists for the same thing. This is the first time where the government's stepping in and realizing that Ticketmaster is the problem and they're the only reason this shit show happened. Taylor was told they could handle this and they couldn't. The only thing they managed to do is screw fans and Taylor over.
@@brooke9225 Yes, Ticketmaster definitely is at fault with how the site couldn't handle all the traffic, with the way the presale codes worked (or didnt), with high VIP prices (Taylor didn't allow dynamic pricing but they apparently found a loophole by turning regular seats into VIP), and with resale sites that TM profit from. So I definitely agree with you! But I have seen fans who took every valid criticism of this whole situation (before Taylor had made her statement) as a personal attack towards her when they weren't necessarily that. I thought her statement was pretty much what I'd expected and hoped for (mind you, I'm not from the States, but I saw how the people I've been following for a while struggled through the presale etc). The statement still left me wondering where all the tickets had gone, whether they were all sold out or if there was gonna be a way some could still be distributed to actual fans, not scalpers. Now I'm pretty sure they also went to resale sites through TM themselves. And I assume that's part of what is being investigated now
taylor should not be the one apologizing.. she didn’t do anything. with the pricing, i’m sure she didn’t make the prices. taylor gave other swifties another opportunity to get tickets, she said in her statement that she was looking how to give us other opportunities. taylor did not do anything.. we aren’t forced to buy tickets so I don’t see a reason to complain about the money. “she needs to be held accountable” for what? like I don’t get it.
at the time, it was valid for fans to be upset about the whole thing. even now, they still have a right! i’ve come to terms with it now. i’m very excited and grateful i have tickets and i’m happy she’s giving other people better opportunities now to get some! but let’s be honest. everything goes through taylor so while she probably didn’t choose individual prices for each seat, she most definitely did set a limit for pricing. every artist does and there’s many examples of that! overall, the whole thing is a mess and i’m glad that she’s doing something to have real fans be at the shows. also no, we weren’t forced to buy tickets but a lot of people were panic buying (myself included) and a lot of people bought vip when they didn’t mean to at all. naturally after the initial excitement wears off, it’s normal for people to rethink what they did. again, im over it now and i’m just happy to be going lol

OMMMGGGG that day was so stressful. I ended up paying $280 for 2 nosebleeds together for the Houston show, BUT IM SO EXCITED

it was okay for fans to be upset but some people omg! just crossed every line...like morals who?
