I had this model, same color and everything. I had the engine rebuilt and the interior restored. I even found the original radio in a junkyard. After putting 10K into it, a drunk driver smashed into it and it got sold for scrap. I was devastated. I loved the green interior. It was truly my favorite car to date. The car only had three owners, and it was first sold on 12-24-68, and I imagine was someone's Christmas gift. I was born a year later. Sigh. Thanks for the video.
I found one for sale, but sedan deville not a calais. It has a vinyl top in silverpine green, same interior as this one, and 6 way power seat. It's been off the road since 2003 per window sticker. Rust in both front lower fenders and along the bottom rear (both). But interior looks good. I go see it in two days. Sorry about your car. F N drunk drivers. 68 brought a bigger engine (472) and a permeter frame vs an X frame. Excited and looking forward to driving it. I hope to get it to the cadillac nationals in June 2024 in Gettysburg.
Well done video ! Loved teh specs and pace of the walk around. A very nice Cadillac. What is the circular temperature "dial" thing to the left hand side of the dash ?
I have a 1968 Cadillac (no engine and not in good shape) and would like to find someone who can restore and appreciate it again. Any recommendations for where to post it? I live in Boise, Idaho. Thanks,
Would actually have been better to have just used the camera without the intentional distortion. The natural beauty of the car is diminished by distorting it. The proportions and styling were beautiful, WITHOUT any need to enhance. Just my opinion.
+@Dion-rz3fz Actually, it was the camera. Unfortunately, at the time I filmed this, it was the only camera I had, and it was a fisheye camera. I’m not exactly happy with my early content, but my equipment has substantially improved over the years. I’d like to go back and re-shoot a lot of these, but that opportunity has long since come and gone.
@@NeighborhoodCarReviewsWell, I hope you know I meant no offense. I just assumed it was intentional. Still glad you did your video, as those beautiful old cars were great! I had a white 68 Deville, around the early eighties. Then most just considered it an old car. But I really enjoyed it. It had a black vinyl roof and black interior. Sure wish I had it now! I would love to have a real old car like that now, but unfortunately I don't know how to work on them, so I am afraid of it turning in to a huge money pit. All cars are anyway, but I'm sure a real old one is more so. I hate the crappy looking vehicles out there now and for many years already! Now they look like a car a and a truck mated, and the child is an SUV. Ugly, ugly ugly! And even the sedans, I have to read the name, to even know what it is, as they all look alike. They used to be so distinctive way back. And many were beautiful! I don't like anything now, and haven't for awhile.

Big, beautiful, comfortable land yacht...They don't make Cadillacs like this anymore!
Rode like a dream, too.
