Does anyone know if the movie is based on real events? He should clarify this because it can result in misleading information about the characters' real history.
The relationship between Freud and Jung (and others) was an interesting mix of competition and ideas but sadly missed the usefulness of Occam's razor as a construct. Also, the maxim from Lao Tsu (Tao Buddhism) "There are too many words" wasn't considered, thence and to this very day, psychiatry and psychology is often more about various schools of wordy description than helpful concepts. The contents of the DSM and the ICD (the main major diagnostic textbooks on this planet) are helpful but often quite different in interpretations of behavior from each other. P:s Mental health professionals should never sleep with their patients. Period.
@@theChickenstones Pardon my ignorance.. what's the Occam's razor? You sound like someone well educated on the subject. Where can I read about it? Do you have any articles to recommend?
@@florenciarossi6167 Hiya, seeking an explanation is never ignorance! It's the height of intelligent curiosity. 👌 'Occam's razor' is a problem-solving principle that states the simplest explanation is usually the best. The term "razor" refers to the "shaving away" of unnecessary assumptions when distinguishing between two theories. Occam's 'razor' has been used for centuries and has found relevance in the scientific method. The term is named after William of Ockham, a 14th-century English theologian, logician, and Franciscan friar that just goes to show that sometimes good logical critical thinking thinking is't a new concept. Something that can be a rarity today!! Thanks for asking. Respect from Australia. 😌
@florenciarossi6167 Meaning no disrespect, Ms. Florencia, but you might also use Google or similar search engines to explore these basic psychology concepts.
Ahh.. the seads of Psycology. No wonder there is more insanaty in the world now than when it first started. By its fruits, you will recognize the tree.
This Freud guy seems much like the king of Gondor to me...
He loved the unpredictable one than the predictable one
Damn, the actors in this film are all top tier.
His name Jung. Not Young.
It is spelled Jung, but pronounced Yung.
@theedit00 I know. The subtitles said Young, and "Young" which is how the AI voice pronounced it is not the German pronunciation of Jung.
@@theedit00 More like Yoong.

The script was written by Christopher Hampton, based on his own play “The Talking Cure”
@@CrystalyRecapped Ohh ok, thanks for clarifying 💟👍🏻
We are happy to help

Freud was a massive narcissist
Nothing was his fault it was always everyone else and he could control people easily
@@nathanmacdonald6696yep sounds exactly like our ex son n law, he is a Malignant Narcissist, & extremely severe
I am not a proponent of psychology and psychiatry because it assumes the patient and others are truthful and this is not the case.
