0:57 Someone did a really nice job on the conversion of that '70 Cadillac. It must have been a pain for the EMTs, having to crouch down in those old ambulances, but they got there in style.
Lol, a study was actually conducted in Rochester, MN that proved chest compressions were more effective in this style ambulance because the attendants were able to brace their backs against the ceiling! Sadly, out of hospital survival hasn’t really improved since this style of ambulance was phased out.
@@kbittorf335 of course the modern days will phase out the better stuff. The only problem i see with using these again is they need better sirens and lights as it would have to be up to code.
@@That_2_guy2TThe problem with using these again is they’re incredibly cramped inside. Modern ambulances have room for more equipment and personnel, which is why car-derived ambulances were phased out, worldwide, decades ago.
I never like it when they dub the siren in later, it's always the incorrect sound! What should be a mighty Q ends up sounding like a little kid's battery operated toy siren from the 50s.
@@blazer8451 the one pictured on the light blue Caddy on the roof is a Federal Q2B, you can clearly see the "F" Federal logo on it. They dubbed an electronic sounding siren in later, probably in post production.
At 6:11 you can see it looks to be a '67 or '68 Pontiac chassis that the coachworks is on. Quite a bit more scarce than a Cadillac of the same era. Good compilation from the original Hawaii Five-O series.
It's done by Superior. About the most common coach builder, but maybe not the most common chassis....although there were a great many of these Pontiac coaches.
"How do you feel?"
"Oh, pretty good! Never been better! I've always wanted to ride to the hospital in an ambulance and now I'll get the chance!"

1:40 Shut up Barnaby! We don't need your non-medical-doctor advice.
I know huh, and he wouldn't let up.
I find it interesting that those cars rock a Q but the Q is not always what I hear. 🚨🚑
I looked at the 1969 White Pages; there was definitely a Physicians Ambulance listed so these are probably hired for the shoots.
Love the siren. Reminds me of sheriff from Cars!
Me too, so did the Crown Firecoaches from "Emergency!"

@@abedbushthat’s a B&M siren

That is a great siren sound especially the old ambulance from Emergency! And on Engine 51 in season 1 and 2
St Paul FD had a 1962 caddy ambulance, beacon, arrow flashers,1964 we had international travelall,1974 coppy LA paramedic program🚨

Only the best to haul McGarrett 😏👌
I can't see it

The famous _Physicians_ ambulance service of Hawaii ...😄👍
That is the same siren from Emergency! The yellow and white ambulance and engine 51!
B&M sirens Los Angeles
I love the powerfull wailing one why they don't make of these of today 🚨🚑🚑🚑🚔🚓🚓🚓🚓🚒🚒🚒🚒🚨
So what is this TV series called? Haven't found it on the internet so far.
What's the name of this show?
Hawai'i Five-O, original series.
When did AMR buy them out?
7:37, from "a bullet for mc garrett"
What my z grandfather in Cambria drove..
Nobody's gonna name all the makes, models/coachbuilders??? The Pontiac is a Superior, I know that much.
The Caddie’s are Miller/Meteor.
What movies it shows this video from
Hawaii Five 0
A Q seems a bit overkill for an ambulance.
My wife told me size doesnt matter😅
@@corolere that's why they dub over it with a siren that doesn't even match!
@@shaneharrisnj3484 Actually, the siren heard from 1:09 to 1:17 sure sounds like a Q1 or Q2 to me.
@@STLSF though the siren that's actually heard on TV is a B&M S8., that same recording that would be used on "Emergency!" And "Cars"
