    A lot of you expect "too much". To put out a dance set, doesnt mean you have to blow it up with crazy tricks and do all this crazy choreography to intense music. If you truly understood dance, you will see that jabba killed it in a different way. Yeah the performance was "chill", but look at the dance, chemistry, and musicality. This is something only jabba can do. Their originality and signature style is shown greatly. If you cant see it, you just dont understand. Come back when youre ready

      Winner ^^^^^^ Perfectly said..I agree. And just so everybody knows..Bboy ERANETIK 100% knows what he is talking about and he knows Jabba better than pretty much anyone...he's even performed with them in the mask and gloves and all several times. So, if anyone tries to argue with what he just said..well, only a moron or someone that knows absolutely nothing about dance would disagree with him or try to argue with what he just said.

    Everyone is forgetting the fact that dancing doesn't consist on just doing to tricks and stunts for people. Jabbawockeez know the true meaning of dancing so don't always get your hopes up for tricks and stunt. For me they did amazing as always.

    That was fresh! I love that they started it off with one of their '03 routines. That whole routine was original Jabba style. To those who complain that it was boring. Try doing shows everyday, flying back n forth to different cities, then put a brand new routine for a show they dont even need to be at. Kick rocks you unappreciative assholes.

    As much as I love the Jabbawockeez, Quest Crews performance, in my opinion, can't be beaten. But Jabba is still smooth as ever! Their synchronization is freaking amazing! I wish I lived in L.A. to see this!

  • @nosofnh
    @nosofnh 10 лет назад +41

    This wasn't mediocre. This is Jabba doing Jabba. I totally respect everybody's opinion so this is with all do respect to everybody. But if you look at the choreography it takes concentration and precision to pull off the number they performed. Whether it was a ripple or ticking or whatever they nailed it and that is something a lot of crews can't pull off except for a few. Jabba did not lay out a mediocre performance, they laid out a form of art and new number and they brought it to the table. They killed it to bc what they made is something that nobody can repeat bc its them and it's what they do. Yeah it wasn't hype but it was a new approach and they simply PERFECTED it. Bc usually the front man has to worry about it being clean bc he cant see whats going on behind him but he most likely didn't have to worry bc the chemistry is there and thats what makes it such a clean performance. Great job Jabba. #JABBAFANFORLIFE

    Their synchronized movements always kills me. Do you know how hard it is to do that with 7 individuals with their own unique style of dancing? you've got to be kidding me if you say that's easy and every dance crew can do that. It always amazes me how they do that every single time they do including this one.

    • @MrUKFORLIFE
      @MrUKFORLIFE 10 лет назад +9

      Dude, how old are you ? If you think this performance was boring, it's simply because it didn't have a bunch of flips and tricks in it like Quest's did and/or you must be 10 years old or around that age.

    • @xxguestxx08
      @xxguestxx08 10 лет назад +6

      dude, how old are you? if you think this performance is fun just because of the mask and the balloons??? :)) and btw i'm 25years old bitch ^__^ c'mon a lot of people really thinks this is boring. not just me.. that only means this is really a boring one. but on the other hand i think you had fun just watching the balloon which isn't even presented that well.. you must be 10 years old or around that age? :))

    • @MrUKFORLIFE
      @MrUKFORLIFE 10 лет назад +8

      Nope...I'm 26 years old, you fucking idiot and a dancer..and I have even judged performances and battles and seen showcase performance around the World..And I can promise you right now..that the Jabbawockeez had an excellent/great performance here..This was the cleanest and most artistic performance at WOD LA this year..Jabbawockeez grooved and beat manipulated and rode the beats throughout this entire performance..it really was amazing..The energy didn't have to be off the wall crazy/energetic because of the ability Jabba has to listen to the music and make sound into a shape..the music doesn't control them...they control the music and they can make the simplest moves look amazing..there was a famous entertainer/singer/dancer I know that could easily do that as well..and his name was Michael Jackson..arguably the best and greatest entertainer of all time. They hit and moved to EVERY beat..it was amazing and great !! Quest was amazing as well but ONE thing they concentrated on too much was tricks and setting up for tricks..for me, setting up for tricks too much takes away from the performance..now, their energy was insane..no doubt about it but if I was judging, I would take percentage points off for that..setting up for tricks too much, I mean..Bboy Aichi's headspin was amazing and D Trix's return and air flares were amazing..Steve's flips were great too..although he almost crashed on one or two of them. I'm not telling you all of this as a fan..I'm telling you this as a dancer.

    Y'all don't understand their artistry. The way they execute those sick moves; the pop/lock thing, slowmo actions, the humor style, the moves that they do which makes them look that the video is in a fast forward and slow mo style then vice versa which is not ( observe the background if you want to see ); they are a true artist. No wonder it takes time for them to make a dance video after another. They are legends. JABBA FOR LIFE!!!!

  • @firetsurei
    @firetsurei 10 лет назад +2

    This was all about their roots. Appreciate their talent for manipulating a beat so flawlessly in the tiniest of movement. We all know they can do all these athletic tricks, but see what they are doing. EACH one of those dancers was on the same level in their movements, they were in total unity. Slow songs are hard to make into a complete dance. Look at how they move, they are the only crew I've seen to be so precise in movement like that. Their roots people.

  • @LuckySevenSamson
    @LuckySevenSamson 10 лет назад +1

    I can understand people when they say this looks like one of their weaker performances. But even on ABDC they kept this style of these smooth, clean movements instead of the big tricks. What makes them so amazing though is that they have these little touches and nuances that separate them from other crews.
    Just their synchronicity alone is worth mentioning, and it's on full display here. That alone makes it look like the music is moving them, instead of them moving with the music.

    Yeah i agree that this wasn't their best performance but i really loved watching this, 10/10. The jabbawockeez worked really hard to get where they are now. They dont need to prove shit to anyone.

    I can promise you people if You all watch the video again a listen to the music carefully and watch their movements you will then see. They do not miss a note,. Furthermore, there is never a situation when they are focusing on one person. when you watch jabbawockeez NEVER get stuck on watching one person, watch the whole crew simultaneously, then you will get the full effect besides that was their goal if any of you remember.

    Jabba's swag and musicality by themselves in this performance owned all of the other dance crews at WODLA this year...Whew !! I swear to God...Jabba has swag and musicality for not only days...for fucking years !! Jabba's ability to listen to the music far exceeds that of every other dance crew out there..And Jabba listens to the music so perfectly and they are still perfectly precise and clean at the same time..and they have badass and creative and original and entertaining choreography...Jabba is the only dance crew that makes you watch them and their awesome dancing and listen to the music at the same time the entire performance..they really are the Kings of musicality. And not only do they hit every beat..they also listen to the lyrics of the music they are dancing to...to perfection as well. They are the best and greatest and most badass dance crew in the World...I'm sorry.

    It is the worst part of getting popular I guess: the ratio of people, who can truly appreciate what you do, decreases. I'm watching these guys since 2009, it is freaking 5 years and I've got never bored with them. As they get famous (which they truly deserved) lot of people, who are not really interested or feeling the hip-hop culture, start to like them as well. But they lack something, understanding the true talent of Jabbawockeez. The illusions are still beyond amazing, the body control is like no-other, and on top of that I still cannot find anyone who can interpret music/rhythm like them (well expect Mike Song and Tony Tran, who happens to be a member now!).
    People are complaining about music choice... Instead of observing how they interpreted the other kinds of music, they choose to complain. Compared to what you see/understand, it is much more valuable what these guys are doing. I know that everybody have their own opinion about anything, you have the freedom to hate. But that prevents you to see the true beauty. First watch every group performance of Jabbawockeez, then their individual ones. After that you will realize that it is more than dance, it is mus.i.c, a music you can see, in other words.
    And additional to that, after all of their incredible achievements, they are still humble like the Piglet from Winnie the Pooh. At least try to appreciate this, people...

    As a civilian (non dancer) this was and still is the most hype evoking routine I've ever seen. I saw this maybe 10 years ago looking for an 8 flavaz routine I saw on TV; and realized I had no idea the depth of talent and representation of emotion that came with dance Bru! This is fucking dancing! This crew is dance before mainstream. They represent passion and love before it was profitable to be a RUclips, social media dancer. I have and always will come back to this routine through the years to witness talent + birth right at its grandest!!!!

    This performance wasn't flashy but I felt good about it because it felt like that old school "garage" choreography. This performance seemed like an homage to when they were starting out. Go jabba!

    When I watched quest crew I felt like I was watching a cheer leading or gymnastics performance or something.
    Although pretty simple, the wockeez are so damn clean. They make everything look so dope. Phil out the front during senile really shows how he got the name Swagger Boy.

    Not sure why people are commenting that they arent that good now. The choreography is good, the moves are fluid and blend well with the other members. It's pretty good, so wheres all the "weak" part of it people are talking about?

      rucida lawla how is quest crew better than jabba?? Because the do more acrobatics? No this is not the best jabba performance and quest is great. But you are missing the whole concept the jabbawockeez bring. Not to mention quest crew does karate tricks half the time not dancing. Jabbawockeez have their own style and they are inter changeable with anyone who can learn them and wear a mask and a kangol. Lets remember they are millionaires from their dance style ...

    • @primetime653
      @primetime653 10 лет назад +5

      actually, that dancing you call karate is called bboying. Bboying consists of many flips,jumps,spins and twists. Quest Crew Bboys, Tuts, Crumps and Freestyles. Not karate

    • @ChampionsSickNJ
      @ChampionsSickNJ 10 лет назад +8

      Lol I know what bboying is.. but Steve tejada of quest is a karate tricking champion. That's how he got known. They use 540 kicks, b twist variations etc. All stuff I saw Steve tejada perform on stage karate competitions. Do your reserach

    I've been a fan of the Jabba and Quest (The ABDC's) for years now but haven't watched much of their stuff since 11/12, amazing stuff but just couldn't find the effort to watch it like I use to.
    Both WOD performances are firsts I've seen in long time, I just watched Quest that brought the absolute fire, great performance that I expect from them.
    As for Jabba, Perhaps the reason I haven't watched their stuff of recent, I've loved their work over the years, but got repetitive. Still doesn't put down their standard, it is amazing to keep watching and a show I'd definitely give the world to watch even once, but waiting for their new material after long periods of time on youtube became a practice not worth continuing
    But this Jabba performance... OUT OF THIS WORLD
    This is another side to them, going out of their set soundtracks of The Bangerz for their live shows and feeling the music and lyrics that no other dance group can. So many sections of it got so absolute Gangsta 1:40 onwards, I couldn't handle it with such immense amount of Swag with their Sock it to me Section from 4:00. I can only guess its Phil at the front usually leading the way bringing srs hood to the performance that stands out so much, Sure they're all ridiculously in sync but he adds his only little mouth wipe at 4:45 or his extra detailed arm groove at 4:55. This performance reminded me just why the Jabba's were my favourite and perhaps always will be regardless if I keep up with their newer stuff or not because no matter who you watch in their performance, they're all on point. AMAZING

    I enjoyed it! They used a soundtrack that mixed Westcoast, Eastcost and Down South music. You cant always use the same style routines. I like Quest Crew and Poreotics also but with Quest you can always expect stunts and tutting almost looking like a cheer routine, with Poreotics you can always expect that bubbly robot/tic/popping style, but with the Jabbawockeez you never know what to expect until it happens and they actually DANCE. Using their dance to act out the words in each song.

    I think this was a great performance from the musicality aspect. Was it a big crowd pleaser? No. Did I enjoy it the first time I watched it? Not necessarily, but after watching it multiple times, I begin to appreciate it for what it is. And to me this is just art. Now is this their best performance they have ever made? No. Not by any means. With that being said, people need to stop saying "They lost it," or "They aren't the best anymore." We have to understand, they are extremely busy. They may not have all the time in the world like they once did, so, time constraints can affect putting together a performance. Also, we cannot base their skill, their creativity, and their effort off of ONE performance. I think you can say that once you've seen their PriSm show in Vegas and think that's the worst shit ever. I think the song choice could have been better, but these guys are amazing still, and we are judging them way too harsh after ONE performance. Much love to the Jabbawockeez!

    What people forget is that hip hop dance came from soul music. So people dance with soul and that's the essence of hip hop. Hip hop was invented by a soulful culture, and wasn't just about a bunch of tricks and acrobatic stunts. This is where the Jabawakees Rule. You have to understand the soul in the music and dance to appreciate the Jabawakees.

    Just FYI for people the Jabba's performed at 3 O CLOCK! Everyone wasn't even at the show yet , comparing crowd makes no sense anyway. Next Jabba & Quest are two totally different crews what you like more or who killed it?! Is all opinion, depends on preference so no need to argue over dumb stuff ya'll. Let's just enjoy the art if you thought this was boring maybe the Jabba aren't your preference, I think this was a dope piece it showed how much they have all grown as dancers. You will not see another crew that in sync, the body language, the control, these dudes really are unique. They stay true to who they are!!! They have always had this style and they aren't going to conform to another formula for someone's dislike, look where their style has gotten them?! If it ain't broke don't fix it, they are always a refreshing breathe with the flood of chreo teams their are now. Not that any of those teams are wack but I love seeing some flat out expression every once in awhile
