I will stick with my original (now “Premium “ Disney+ subscription). Like you, Roger, I watch a lot of Disney+. As an American, I also get a lot of value out of The Disney Bundle, which would be diluted by changing subscription plans.

I think any service with ad Support should be free to watch like it is free to watch RUclips but with ads but if I’m going to watch some thing like Disney+, I do not want ads I do not even want to watch something with ads in it I hate those I rather just not watch it but RUclips kind of gets on my nerves also because of the ads but I love to keep up with gaming so I have to deal with the ads

Coming to Australia in March 2024. Just received a subscriber agreement change email today. Very vague and the only way I could work out that ads were coming was a mention of Launch of Service Tiers. The word advertising was not mentioned once in the email.

Considering £4.99 for ads section defifently worth it considering the cost of living

I was wondering when Disney Plus was going to have ad tier outside the US since they had it in the US for a year now. I can also see why Iger really wanted it out now since they been losing subscribers for a year now to no surprise. Since first it was losing the cricket games in India. Then it was the "clever" idea to remove all their original content from the service outside of Marvel and Star Wars, leaving only TV shows people can watch for free on regular TV and movies people can get DVDs and blu rays to.
Well the ad tier allowed Netflix to get more subscribers again after being stagnated for so long. Plus the most successful streaming networks during this whole streaming wars was actually the free ad based one like Tubi. Guess the CEOs are finally taking note.

Until global availability is on par I'll stick with the original option. Why isn't a haunting in Venice in UK 😢 I only use 1080p but 5.1 will it still work exactly as I use the audio now . I have to use my Xbox One S to get 5.1 out over optical toslink SPDIF to Dolby Digital my speakers are 18 years old and don't need an upgrade. Adds at the start though they tend to be only 2.0 audio thus louder than the movie for central audio will be louder than the movie itself. Not every service has an advertisement tier though. What about existing plans? We paid for a complete year so what about existing plans.

Existing plans won’t change until you reach the end of the plan

I'm in Canada and trying to decide what to do. I thought I'd read somewhere that the 'live' shows will be affected (Dancing With the Stars), but I can't find that now. We're getting the 3 tiers and I don't want ads, but I'm still confused about the differences between the new Standard and Premium. Are there any other differences not mentioned here? Anyone in Canada notice a difference yet?

Canada has 3 tiers, Premium (no ads), standard (no ads but lower quality_ and standard with ads... live shows do come with ads

The ad supported tier concept is a good idea on paper but not all financial ideas are good!!!
Anyways, thank you for your videos Roger keep up the good work. ☺️❤

Actually streaming networks make MORE off of ad tier than their subscription tier. It's why the commercial free tiers in tons of subscription services are raising in prices like crazy, but the ad tier is remaining pretty much the same.
It's also why not only is Tubi making over a billion dollars a year, but it's making more money than all of Fox's other channels combined.

So similar to what airlines do with their movies and tv series…

I’m going to stay with the one I have now.

I don't know what's going on in the UK, but here in the US I'm on basic with ads and I get 4k content and Dolly Atmos sound.

Some Lifetime products (Dance Moms, Liz And Dick) are available on there now. Some Sony products (Tobey Maguire/Andrew Garfield/Tom Holland Spider-Man are on there now. Look for them to drastically expand in December, when they will likely bring Hulu into Disney+. The catch there is, you have to be subscribed to The Disney Bundle to receive Hulu into Disney+.

    • @nickperkins8477
      @nickperkins8477 8 месяцев назад +2

Starz is owned by Lionsgate and their stuff will likely remain on the Starz app/channel. Starz does currently carry Cinderella (2015) and the movie Maleficent. But, that’s only a matter of time before those contracts expire and go back to Disney for Disney+(U.S.A.) That will likely happen in December 2023 or January 2024.

@@nickperkins8477 So will hulu remove starz hub add on from service and we only get marvel & star wars overall or will disney expand disney plus outside of star wars & marvel

Hulu will be merge with in Disney+ by the end of 2024, after Disney does get the majority of stake and also I hope Hulu does become a International for Disney+ sometime in 2025.
