Yes you are right aldi's only carrier my new amount of produce compared to the main supermarkets that's why Aldi and Lidl are making huge profits they only sell the basics
The bigger question is, why pay thousands for an air conditioner to be installed when you’ll only use it for two weeks of summer? The other fifty weeks, it just hangs there collecting dust, and motors need to be activated to keep them in working order. It’s just not something the Brits consider economical.
its not that they break down the staff just cant be fuked to clean them cause its hassle and time consuming....i know my self...i done that shit once and once only years ago 😅
Part of Evan’s issue is he lives in London. I know he’s travelled around the UK but not enough as we do have local diner places, waiters are generally around if you need something and McDonald’s milkshake/ice cream machines are 50/50 on whether that work or not which is the same as my US experience. Love Evan but,,,,
If you think American pizza, or more specific New York pizza, is better than Italian pizza, you're out of your mind. Unfortunately we have both represented in the Netherlands (both reasonably close to the originals as I know them). They shouldn't even have the same name.
Re Aircon, it's nearly July and so far we've had 2 really hot nights. Having aircon would see a massive increase in energy usage all year round when it's not required which will errrrr speed up global warming. Typical American response to global warming is more energy usage and more global warming please
Oh my lordie....... I'm an Aussie who travels extensively for business to the USA and UK. The UK wins in every respect except weather. And don't get me started on freaking tips. BTW, English bacon is virtually the same as we have here. US bacon is an inferior, fatty cut from the pork belly whereas English, Canadian, and Australian bacon gets cut from the loin, which gives you the juicy delicious "eye" pieces of bacon as well as some of the crispy stuff too.
Italians use a pizza cutter roller. My friends own Italian restaurants in Italy and their pizzas have less toppings in order to prevent the pizza dough from becoming soggy. They want it crispy so you can pick up a slice with one hand. It’s delicious! They also cook them in a wood fired oven.
So, this video is about the British complaining a lot …… really? Has he listened to his complaints. He’s too loud and gets too excited. Water fountains were always around when I was at school (60’s). We do complain about the weather, but for good reason. You may wake to a beautiful day, plan to go out a little later, only for rain clouds to show up - and sunshine, or lack of it is another complaint. On the whole we don’t complain Willy-nilly - there are usually reasons … Diners are an American “thing”, there are some around here: would I go to another country and complain if they don’t have something I’m used to in England 🤔 hmmm! The bag boy? Maybe in America, but not as a matter of rote here. Anyone listening to this man would come away with a very wrong impression of the UK. PS we have a wide wide choice for toothpaste AND toothbrushes- I don’t know where he shops at. I can’t listen to this man, he wears me out - he needs to calm down.
it's generally given that food is cheaper in the UK than US, so not sure why he is saying the opposite a Pub will 9 times out of 10 will be far better than a Diner. A Diner in the UK is a greasy spoon cafe, nothing wrong with that , they don't just do fry ups. Most Pub food is far beyond what a Diner will be doing i think this guy might actually not be in the UK, but Russia or is does he think a cornershop is the Walmart equivalent about websites not being avalible, the only 1 are GDPR ones which tend to US based and don't wish to comply with European GDPR rules due to cost. So you might not get small local US news sites. That's not the UK blocking them, that's the US site not making it avalible Is he referring to Netflix US not being avalible , again not a UK goverment thing This guy is talking a lot of balls
What you call bacon in the uk is called streaky bacon, but most brits will eat what you call Canadian bacon. Britain doesn't have grocery packers cause we aren't lazy. I'm from Wales and we have several toothpastes to chose from more than two, same with toothbrushes too. Haven't had a light pull cord or toilet pull chain since 2006, my light for the toilet the switch is outside the bathroom so you switch on light before you go into bathroom and to flush my loo i have a button push type.
Think Evan was picking holes because he couldn't find anything really wrong...except Brexit. Obviously living in London, I doubt he knows much about Cymru. I'm surprised you don't have a light pull cord in your loo though, I get why they've done it, but that's usually an uncommon thing. The toilet pull chain however, haven't seen that in any building younger than like 60 years. I thought all loos these days either had the dual button system or the flush handle
@@robbpatterson6796 In Wales we aren't as backward as people think, we even have mixer taps, we even have electricity too imagine that. All loos have push dual buttons unless it's an old house of course, our houses have been modernised for really long time, some later than others depending on where you are or whether you live in a private house or council property. Plus if Evan has lived in the UK for a while, then I doubt that he wouldn't know about Wales, just cause he lives in London doesn't mean he doesn't travel outside London lol.
@@emmahowells8334 I live in Cymru too, so trust me, I know. Just because someone has lived in the UK, doesn't mean they've travelled to every part of it. I agree that he may have travelled to many places outside of London, and maybe to many other places in Sais, but the fact that he's made...how many Cymraeg videos again? makes it just seem like he doesn't know much about us
We have 2 types of cut of bacon. Back bacon and streaky bacon. They usually stock both types in every store. Evan is making things up for content, again.
In most UK supermarkets there is plenty of choice for tooth paste, in fact too much choice, I end up buying the cheapest. It's toothpaste for god sake.
19:00 WTF is he talking about???? Blocked websites???? I've never ever seen that!!! The only accurate thing he's mentioned is round culture and you can just say you only want a couple so I'll get my own. I can't listen to him anymore!
I really don’t know where he goes in london, there are lots of small cafes to have cake and coffee, also we have three types of bacon slices which is cured not boiled so it is not ham,he should go into Poundland and see the amount of different toothpaste we have and if you have someone bagging your shopping the prices would go up to pay their wages, love watching you Connor stay healthy 🌹
This isn’t Evan’s finest video. He does speak some rubbish in this one for sure. I was going to defend Pizza Express but will focus on his lie about supermarkets not having much choice. He lives in London and doesn’t have a car - normal sized supermarkets with choice are not found in central London. I live in little old York, 5 minute walk or drive is a Tesco where there is a massive choice in everything. I just cannot relate to his nonsense about two types of toothpaste or toothbrush. His comments just don’t match reality.
Don't ask to take something home from a restaurant. It's as socially acceptable as raiding the bins. Brits hate to be interrupted whilst eating, so waiters leave us in peace until we make eye contact. Of course, being a Yank, he considers waiters inferior and won't make eye contact with them.
Evan knows ( no pun intended) the voltage is hugely higher in U.K… dangerous to have in bathrooms! Hence the light switches being outside and no ports inside for electric devices. Regarding pull strings???? I can’t remember the last time I saw one of them??????
@@christineharding4190 sorry Christine I meant in public spaces like smaller cafes or b&b’s etc. A lot will have been replaced in that respect . Used to have one in my house! ❤️
I used to visit Italy a lot when I lived in Europe and the only people I saw using knife and fork when eating pizza were tourists. Maybe it's because I was poor and didn't go to super fancy places. The one cut with scissors is pizza al taglio, I wonder if you mean those. It's street food, they make pizzas in big rectangular trays and they ask you how much you want and then cut it. Because there's not a standard slice size, you pay it by the weight. The places where they serve round pizzas usually slice it with a mezzaluna (a curved knife). Maybe people cut it with scissors at home? I've never seen that.
If he lives in London he will know that there are plenty of independent cafes to eat at. Most towns and cities have them, you just have to look for them.
First comment, and it is generally in like a tomato sauce when you buy baked beans for toast in the UK, Heinz is a very popular example. Also a lot of the McDonalds stores in the UK actually don't have a mixer for the flurries despite the design. The reason the machine is always off is because it overheats frequently and when in cleaning can take up to 8 hours sometimes, unless you want a very sour ice cream.
The REASON he sees less choice is because he lives in a city and doesn’t have a car. Up to the 1990s we had huge supermarkets in every single town suburb - now we have 4 HUGE supermarkets in every single suburban town - but these are still considered out of towners that you drive to because you have a car or live next door to one - these places have every single conceivable choice of what you want and more or what you don’t want - not as much as in the USA - because the uk focuses on quality and not every single damn thing ever thought of…. Heinz beans originated in the USA! In the UK beans are served on "toast" spread with lashings of real butter. In the USA they are served directly onto warm bread. YUK!
What annoys me about the UK compared to America is that coffee shops don't give free refills. To my knowledge only Wetherspoons and Morrisons give refills.
This is an old video, when Evan lived in Chiswick, a very expensive area and probably shops in small convenience stores and restaurants are expensive. As for the bill, ask for it when ready. My preference is Italian pizza, good ingredients, thin crust. American style pizzas always make me feel ill. Every time I work in America, it takes me a while to get used to the food and not feel ill.
Ahhh the baby bacon, perfect for advertising.. love your it's to tasty argument, I agree. Our dinners are called acafes or Cafes. So what the hell is he talking About?
Both cuts are called bacon, but one is a cheaper cut because it isn't as lean (the belly/streaky bacon). You get more nutrition out of the lean back bacon, Canadian bacon is similar but has a bit missing. Also if I remember correctly; "American bacon" and our back bacon was roughly the same price as each other for the same weight, also our back bacon being sold cheaper here than Canadian bacon in the States. So....?
Here in the UK we used to have water fountains in some streets & parks etc for people to take a drink from, but these disappeared some years ago, with little notice, I suppose for public health reasons. Water fountains etc are just not a thing in the UK, where we tend not to drink so much water as Americans seem to do, & we can take it from a regular bathroom or kitchen tap if required. Bottled water is still considered a bit weird, & a waste of money when free water is available. Here in the UK baked beans are associated with American cowboy movies, & US soldiers during the 2nd world war, where we seemed to have got the idea from. Bacon is the cooked flesh of a pig, not only the belly fat as in the US. Ham is the whole joint, often smoked or cured, & eaten uncooked. We British have turned against the word 'soccer', which we do use for real football, since the US use the word 'football' for their game, which is really more like Rugby, with little kicking involved. So we have reclaimed the word football for our game which does employ a lot of foot to ball play. We were brought up to eat with a knife & fork, & learn how to when we are small children. We prefer not to eat with our hands, except for snacks. Our restaurants serve people size servings, not more than enough. It is impolite in the UK not to eat all that is on your plate, or to take stuff away in a 'doggy bag'. We don't like servers to hang round bothering us all the time, but like to take our time eating. No one is forced to partake in round drinking, but can just tell his companions & it's OK. It's perfectly possible to bag your own stuff when shopping, you don't need assistance. How many toothbrushes do you need. There is much more choice than Evan says here, so he's over stating this here. It's just that we have several choices rather than the US thousands. We can & do ask store staff for help when we need it, & it is usually good, but we don't want staff bothering us. There are regulations in the UK about electricity in bathrooms, to do with high voltage, wet hands, steam, children etc etc. You can dry your hair etc in another room that has an electricity supply, like the bedroom. AC has not always been available in the US either, once it was a new thing, not so long ago. Basil is a Greek word, they don't say Baysil, but Bassil, as in Basilica. You wouldn't say Bay silica! would you?
yeah...evan's arguments are a bit weak here, the us and uk are different places, why should we become a clone of the states and lose our individuality.
Most waiters are happy to help if you need something.. our waiters are better at timing they’re checks, ie not when you’ve just shoved a mouthful of food in, they are better at monitoring a table without it being intrusive, and usually friendly, yes they get better wage but tips are still a great bonus… obviously there are exceptions but thats everywhere 😊
I have to comment again. You are the same as me, except it’s number 6 for me and if I don’t go home then 3 hours later I’m face down on the pavement 😂. Great channel 👍
Another thing that is out of date in this video is needing a VPN to "get round" ISP having to block certain websites as all the browsers now allow you to change from your ISP's DNS server to cloudflair or OpenDNS or Google's.
To be fair I’ve never tasted Italian pizza from Italy or pizza from NY, so I can’t really comment but when I speak to Italians in London they say the best pizza is pizza in Sicily Italy. Sicilians are passionate about food, especially pizza. If you say Connor NY perfected Italian pizza and perhaps they have, but that’s because most of those New Yorkers are either Sicilians or have Sicilian heritage. But the climate in Sicily is much warmer than NY which means they’re food produce which is grown there will be a lot fresher because most of it is homegrown. Also, I remember as a 52 yr old now when I was growing up in the 1980s there use to be a bag boy and girls and they weren’t always teenagers doing a part time job but adults too who would wait patiently for your groceries to reach them on the conveyor belt before they would help you and bag your items. We don’t see that now but then again I prefer to bag my own groceries because you want to make sure perishable items and eggs are bagged carefully and not damaged. And there’s a reason why we have pulley switches in U.K. bathrooms Connor because it’s safer and you will be less likely to be electrocuted. Our electrics, like plugs and switches are some of the safest and most practical on the planet. As for flushing your toilet, not all toilets have Victorian style pulleys. That’s old style and more so for traditional looking toilets, depending on your style. Whereas modern cisterns as we call toilets in the U.K. have handles built onto the toilet itself or manual buttons you can press or sensor operated cisterns that flush the toilet when placing your hand in front of it.
I've been to Sicily twice. The pizza is delicious - but you won't get pepperoni or lots of other toppings on it. You can get ones with salami or mushrooms, but it's mostly, tomato sauce and mozzarella, with options to have things like olives, anchovies and artichokes on. Having said that, the plain tomato and mozzarella with a few olives are to die for.
In the UK the water is far safer and far more palatable than in the US and can be drunk straight from the tap so no need for water fountains made with plastics and housing up electricity to chill it's already cold coming straight from the tap.
I live in a town of 18,000 people - I have the choice of lots of different takeaways Fish and chip shops Pizza Chinese Thai. Indian Turkish MacDonalds Fried chicken shop South American. He's obviously living under a stone.
A grown man who can't bag his own groceries is pathetic.

I have seen English kids can't even use a knife and fork 4 and I'm an Englishman. Even English adults have stopped using it now just a fork I have noticed
I have noticed English children and even English adults don't know how to use a knife and fork im English
I know this was supposed to be a humorous video but what the hell is he smoking? That was just too manic for me and totally pointless
if he goes to Aldi you won 't get a wide choice, that's how they keep their prices low. Go to any of the big 4 supermarkets and there are lots of choice for most things so Evan is being an arse
Yes you are right aldi's only carrier my new amount of produce compared to the main supermarkets that's why Aldi and Lidl are making huge profits they only sell the basics
Yes he is! If Britain annoys him so much he should leave its simple
The bigger question is, why pay thousands for an air conditioner to be installed when you’ll only use it for two weeks of summer? The other fifty weeks, it just hangs there collecting dust, and motors need to be activated to keep them in working order. It’s just not something the Brits consider economical.
UK has several types of bacon. What he calls American bacon, we call Streaky Bacon. You can get it anywhere in the UK. Problem solved.
sorry but I like streaky bacon but I wouldn't give you a thank you for your American stuff
Food is dramatically cheaper here than in the US, as he proved in one of his own videos.
we call American bacon "streaky bacon", British bacon as you call it is "Back bacon", there is also "Collar bacon", "Middle bacon" and "Bacon Hock"
The broken flurry machine is not a British fault its the American Mcdonalds companies fault. The company is responsible for its machinery repairs.
its not that they break down the staff just cant be fuked to clean them cause its hassle and time consuming....i know my self...i done that shit once and once only years ago 😅
the us diner is called a Cafe in the uk
Part of Evan’s issue is he lives in London. I know he’s travelled around the UK but not enough as we do have local diner places, waiters are generally around if you need something and McDonald’s milkshake/ice cream machines are 50/50 on whether that work or not which is the same as my US experience. Love Evan but,,,,
It didn't take long for someone to start whinging about London. It's like clockwork 😂
@@TheOrlandoTrustfull I love London but, the Uk is more than London 😂
@@TheOrlandoTrustfullit is a Cess Pit
Yes, I don't even live in London, but in every f**king video about Britain, it's the same people crying about London. Change the record.
I don't even live in London, but in every comments section about Britain, it's the same people whinging about London. Change the record.
Shop at tesco not lidl and you will find more than 1 option for toothpaste and so on.
Evans English accent is beyond help 😂😂
Only 1minute in and the guy is so annoying I'm turning it off..no offence to you Conner I love ur videos
Evan stop complaining or go back to American with all your food additives! Thank you Connor. ❤
Ive used a knife and fork on burgers when they are too big to pick up.
On the whole we don’t complain Willy-nilly - there are usually reasons …
Diners are an American “thing”, there are some around here: would I go to another country and complain if they don’t have something I’m used to in England 🤔 hmmm!
Why would we need diners when we have cafés
it's generally given that food is cheaper in the UK than US, so not sure why he is saying the opposite
a Pub will 9 times out of 10 will be far better than a Diner. A Diner in the UK is a greasy spoon cafe, nothing wrong with that , they don't just do fry ups. Most Pub food is far beyond what a Diner will be doing
i think this guy might actually not be in the UK, but Russia or is does he think a cornershop is the Walmart equivalent
about websites not being avalible, the only 1 are GDPR ones which tend to US based and don't wish to comply with European GDPR rules due to cost. So you might not get small local US news sites. That's not the UK blocking them, that's the US site not making it avalible
Is he referring to Netflix US not being avalible , again not a UK goverment thing
This guy is talking a lot of balls
American bacon is sweet.
In most UK supermarkets there is plenty of choice for tooth paste, in fact too much choice, I end up buying the cheapest. It's toothpaste for god sake.
I wish we could swap him for you. I feel he hates us.
When I was a kid, there were water fountains, then drunks started pissing in them.
Talking about the weather is definately a way to start a conversation , for me anyway 😊
When a Brit wants to pay for their meal, we just walk to the counter where the cash register is and give them the money (JOB DONE)
Aussies pay for beer rounds too!
He could always go home 😉
Probably driven out
Our bacon is far superior.
Their bacon looks like cheap streaky , yes we do have doggy bag in restaurants, where’s this bloke at. So over the top acting!!!
19:00
WTF is he talking about???? Blocked websites???? I've never ever seen that!!! The only accurate thing he's mentioned is round culture and you can just say you only want a couple so I'll get my own. I can't listen to him anymore!
Watching Americans eat is like watching a toddler learning to..... 😏
What a load of sh*t
Seriously, try proper Italian pizza, it will change your perspective.
"Arrivederci" doesn't mean please, It means goodbye XD
I really don’t know where he goes in london, there are lots of small cafes to have cake and coffee, also we have three types of bacon slices which is cured not boiled so it is not ham,he should go into Poundland and see the amount of different toothpaste we have and if you have someone bagging your shopping the prices would go up to pay their wages, love watching you Connor stay healthy 🌹
What is this man on?! He makes me tired just listening to him!
Evan's citizenship application was rejected! 🤣😂
I wonder why he applied, he dislikes so much about British life.
Wow he is more hyper here than I remember 😂
Where does he shop that he can only buy two brands of pizza? And quite an old video if he is not scanning his own groceries.
Don't ask to take something home from a restaurant. It's as socially acceptable as raiding the bins.
Brits hate to be interrupted whilst eating, so waiters leave us in peace until we make eye contact. Of course, being a Yank, he considers waiters inferior and won't make eye contact with them.
Lidl is the cheapest and eorst supermarket. All the others have plenty of options and all our stuff is good quality.
It is bull crap Evan is talking. Absolute rubbish.
Wish he would leave England, as he complains a lot!!
Evan knows ( no pun intended) the voltage is hugely higher in U.K… dangerous to have in bathrooms! Hence the light switches being outside and no ports inside for electric devices. Regarding pull strings???? I can’t remember the last time I saw one of them??????
I live in an older property that has a pull-string light switch for the bathroom.
@@christineharding4190 sorry Christine I meant in public spaces like smaller cafes or b&b’s etc. A lot will have been replaced in that respect . Used to have one in my house! ❤️
He’s entitled to his opinions but boy! What an annoying person to listen to !
Dear me enough 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The only person who finds Evan even remotely funny is .. Evan.
And I don't think the UK is the ideal country for his American way of life.
Remember Connor the British will always treat as equals as long as you treat us as superior 😂
This original vid is four years old.. Just look at him. He's learned and mellowed since then.
5:11
The "American" bacon he mentions is always right next to the English bacon in the supermarket. Streaky bacon it's often called.
If everyone used resources, as in AC, like America we would need five Earths. FFS - human are a tropical species!
He's annoying me he took his English pass and now he's slagging us of jog on go back your not wanted
Grow up.
If he lives in London he will know that there are plenty of independent cafes to eat at. Most towns and cities have them, you just have to look for them.
American pancakes are inedible.
Branston Beans are a lot better.
that guy is a pillock, you don't get a crispy rind edge on a piece of ham.
What Evan Is talking about is the Tesco Metro
The sainsburies local
The mini market version of the supermarket
And these supermarket big brand mini markets are now everywhere - in central London you’re never far away from one and they are popular because the prices are the same as in the suppermarket and not more expensive as the traditional corner shop used to be.
But they are physically smaller so it’s impossible to have the same choice - but if you want choice you can still have it - just get on a bus and go get it .
It really annoys me when people knowingly are misleading just to add to their content
Don’t be that guy - it’s a real turn off
Heinz beans originated in the USA!
So....?
Maybe if asked for the bill he might get what he wants
The reason we buy rounds is exactly that it encourages everyone to get involved
McDonald's same in the uk with the flurry, the machine is always
"Out of order"
And the milkshake machine. The only reasonable reason to go to a Macdonalds
Love you Connor, but why is this man here, this is not america
We have MacFlurries here and they are nothing like he describes.
I'm sure Mc Flurries are supposed to be how he describes them.
And probably are when the machine works.
British bacon...you can have back bacon or streaky bacon..streaky is like American, you can crisp it if you want! We always have streaky bacon..
Their bacon is not merely streaky. It is burnt and packed with carcinogens. They hate ours because it has a flavour that isn't salt or burnt bits.
I live in a town of 18,000 people - I have the choice of lots of different takeaways
Fish and chip shops
Pizza
Chinese
Thai.
Indian
Turkish
MacDonalds
Fried chicken shop
South American.
He's obviously living under a stone.
