- Big cities have special airports, reserved for private flying, away from the crowds. In New York its Teterboro, Los Angeles has Van Nuys, Denver has Centennial and Cincinnati has Lunken. (Complete name is Cincinnati Municipal Airport - Lunken Field) Lunken was Cincinnati's primary airport before its location in the Ohio River Flood Plane between two of Cincinnati's famous hills strangled its growth.
Its closer to Cincinnati's business centers and is the home to ALL of its Private Aircraft. This LEAR JET 45, however, is a visitor from Willow Run. After landing it taxis to Signature.
N452CK is the tail number for this Lear. The CK is for Conrad "Connie" Kalitta, a legend in aviation and motorsports:
TODAY - Kalitta Maintenance provides the major maintenance for 10 Tanker's fleet which has been fighting the L.A. wild fires from the air.
Sepetember 11, 2001 - Kalitta Air was the only non-military allowed to fly aid missions while other carriers were grounded.
Kalitta Air is noted for its 747 fleet which I capture regularly at Cincinnati's passenger and freight airport CVG: • 747 SUNDAY: Spectacula...
The mission is special too. This was a Med Flight with an ambulance waiting. Cincinnati is a medical center.
I am an airplane and airport loving pilot and photographer. I capture and share experiences at New York Kennedy, New York Laguardia, Chicago O'Hare, Washington National, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Columbus, Detroit, Louisville, Nashville, Atlanta, Tampa, Denver, Rocky Mountain, Clearwater, Detroit and San Juan airports so far.
