If you’re in Southern California, the biggest imax screens are in Irvine and Ontario. Also they both can do 70mm imax but for some reason Ontario isn’t showing dune part 2 in 70mm. They did Oppenheimer in 70mm though. Might be the distributors choice.
it's NOT inflation, it's corporations artificially raising the price of everything as much as possible. As prices for every day goods have skyrocketed and people are spending more and more on the same things, corporations like McDonalds, Tyson, Kroger, etc (those are just some examples that have EXPLICITLY called out their profit increases since 2020) have made record-breaking profits.
My country was managed by people who thought like you for decades. The results: 200% inflation and 50% poverty. Americans, stay informed so you can identify the idiots quicker. Don't let these bad takes become so prevalent that they become acceptable in a podcast's comment section
Coming out of the movie I was afraid people *weren't* going to have the reaction Rocco had at the ending of Dune. It's not a hype-up hero's victory ending, its a much more terrifying, near-apocalyptic ending
I’m glad someone said something to Garrett about his caffeine math, when he said a pot of coffee has 100 mg of caffeine it had me thinking he was drinking some watered down ass coffee
I had two friends that really wanted to see Dune together, but we couldn't get it to work. So I saw it Saturday night at 10:45, and then I went back in the morning at 11 AM to see it with the other friend. Loved it just as much the second time around.
I just wanna say that there's NO shot that they will go further than Dune Messiah because after that it becomes really fuckin weird LOL. Like it's like "I merged my body with a fish to gain superpowers"
Something I’ve been thinking about a lot: being able to go to a restaurant and have people prepare a hot sandwich for you for only a dollar was probably the exception and not the rule. In 2024, I gotta learn to cook better for myself.
I think all these companies were making bank during the pandemic, and now that things are more or less back to normal, they're still expected to make more money than previous years. So that's why they're cutting corners and raising prices to meet these unrealistic expectations of making more and more money.
Did Garrett very briefly fall asleep right before the coffee discussion? That’s serious exhaustion and seeing it effecting others is making me nervous. Please get some rest guys.
My whole family and I watched Lost and Heroes and it got hard at times to watch both when the writers strike happened, but eventually we absolutely had to give up on Heroes. Glad I saw Lost to the end, though.
Saw the film twice, now reading the book, watched Lynch's Dune back in 2021, absouletely love Shawn's response to Hunter explaining the names for Paul @ 34:12. lol Shawn is so cute & respectful of this level of nerdom, i love him. hahahha😝
Minor spoilers and I’m also paraphrasing here: the bene gesserit have pretty much orchestrated this whole “messiah” to come and save humanity or keep them on an enlightened path. They’ve been doing this for thousands of years and continue to do for several hundred years but IIRC Paul’s sons is the one to put humanity back on the right course.
Paul's son thinks that's the right path (he calls it "the Golden Path") but it's severely debatable. It brings back humanity to medieval level tech and as a result of his rule humanity develops computers ("thinking machines") again, which inevitably will lead to another Butlerian Jihad-like event in the future. The whole point of Dune is that humanity is doomed to keep making these mistakes no matter how much they try.
@@INRamos13 right and Leto II became a bad ruler on purpose so that humanity could never be under tyrannical rule again. He gave humanity their needs but under harsh restrictions like banning any kind of travel. Like you said, the golden path being the right path is debatable but Leto II being able to see the future was also somewhat a detriment to him. This is what makes the story so enjoyable though, it starts off as a typical hero story but gets into some pretty deep stuff and the story spans thousands of years.
I watched Dune 2. With zero context, not having seen Dune1, & no knowledge of Dune. That was a very bizarre experience. It was okay. Avatar2 was better.
I went to a concert this summer and I had a bunch of cash in my pocket and none of the merchandise boothes or concession stands took cash. The world is looking bleak. A cashless society is a scary thought.
Using apps to order food rules so hard and I'll never say otherwise. Customize my meal EXACTLY the way I want, and there's 0 chance of miscommunication. Either I had it correct and they messed up, or vice versa because it's all written out exactly in the way I ordered. ALSO, you can see the prices before you order and make sure you're all good with potentially paying $40 for Shawns whole family lmao
Agreed. Still remember ordering stuff over the phone right before apps became a thing and it was the most annoying thing ever. Almost every time, something would be wrong or they'd forget about something else. Never wanna go back.
I got a fanatics NHL jersey. Paid hundreds of dollars to get a knock off quality jersey. I hate them. Idk how this company is becoming the standard of every major league.
Took three attempts at three locations for me to see Opehniehmer in 70mm imax; imagine a two hour commute, gor the film real to break 15-30minutes in, twice lol
I definitely remember last year looking at jack in the box's pricing on grubhub, on 4/20 everything was 3 times the price, the next day it went back to normal. I wouldn't put it past any fast food chain trying that surge pricing crap. also yeah it's more attributed to energy bills, shouldn't be for fuckin buying food lol
I remember beating FF7 when I was 9 years old. looking back idk how I beat it we didnt even have a computer at the house, I would only get one or two chances a week to look anything up on the middle school windows 95 computers if I got stuck. kinda crazy.
I remember when Dune 1 when slated for October 2020, then they released the trailer few weeks before it's release, then a week later pushed it back a whole year. definitely hurt sales & projections for part II's success. probably why it's being released in March vs Fall release & why they now show Dune on tv constantly to grab interest, even on cartoon network
I realize I probably have to accept it just isn't for me, but the new story stuff in the FF7 remakes is so lame and annoying to me. I want to like it but I just can't shake the feeling it gives me.
This is hilarious. But seriously if you read these Deng epic fantasy books you're waiting years between books and dam Martin will never finish but these other authors still spend soo long to finish. For instance wheel of time author died before he finished but got finished up by sanderson who also takes years between books but he pumps out books like no other 😂😅🎉❤
"We're not corporate." He said, dressed head-to-toe in advertisements, while enticing us with his Dune hole.
Sand-cucked, smh
Shawn admits he does not know.
Mahdi is so humble! Just as it was written!
I love Dune 2, Dune 2 chicks at the same time.
Dune 2, 1 cup
I’d rather sit down and do nothing personally
Hell yeah
The spice must flow😏

“What are you DUNE here?” - Tommy shallot

90 yard return is prolly my favorite mega64 vid oat
A NEW PODCAST, AS WRITTEN!
lmao
mega64 should be the new MLB apparel provider.
“The Cast Dreams are made of” has some of your best acting, I’d say.
Saw dune in 70mm and it ruled
We should get that menudos lady as a guest
Rocco, please don't upload exclusively to TikTok. I refuse to download that hellish app and I don't want to miss your Sick Vidz
Now that I, a single fan, has demanded it, I know what you will comply, so thanks in advance :)

In terms of moments where the boys mastered acting, I gotta throw a vote in for The Blacks. One of the most inexplicable moments in mega64 history
Garrett I've had a kidney stone before and the agony is far worse than any other physical pain I've ever experienced. You don't want that believe me.

That was wild. Might've just been a quirk or something tho. Hope man's ain't that tired!
Wait, tenga and mega64 made the ultimate dune fan service.
Dune 2 discussion has some light spoilers on the plot and casting, nothing crazy but I’d skip if you wanna go in totally blind
01:34:45 Was not ready for Saber marionette J drop this year
I would get lost in that bucket
700 dollar power bill? In Idaho that's a mortgage payment
That inflation discussion got me like Rocco with his sphincdune
I feel out of the loop with half the comments on here.
How much do i have to pay for the aftershow that used to be free?
My whole family and I watched Lost and Heroes and it got hard at times to watch both when the writers strike happened, but eventually we absolutely had to give up on Heroes. Glad I saw Lost to the end, though.
Regal theaters in Irvine and Ontario also have the large format IMAX with 70MM, in case you don’t wanna go all the way to LA.
Credit to Johnny for resisting the nah temptation.
I believe it was Epicurus who said "If you keep living the way you want to live, and you never pass a stone... man, what a great way to live.".
World class pun in the title. Bravo.
It took me this long to realize they shortened the theme song vid so Derek wasn't in the rotation.

Sky Goat: Resurrections.
Shawn really was just a model for this episode 😂
Best acting in Mega64 was Shawn during the genital mutilation prank
I also suffer from having a terrible memory like Shawn. Names just escape me.
