I have to say these short micing videos are fantastic. I can't think of anything I have learned as much from watching that I enjoyed as much as these videos while at the same time being given a solid product demo. Really well done presentations that have made me seriously think about your products. :)
Are using a cardioid or a hyper cardioid? Hyper cardioid has a more narrow pick up pattern , so it naturally rejects other drums. You can also use a gate plugin in your daw to rly isolate it more
😂 Glad I saw your comment. I was thinking “how is this contrary to every piece of advice I’ve heard?” I’m no engineer, but this sounds trashy compared to mics directed backward on the top hat

I like this guy and how he explains everything clearly.
His name is Charlie Waymire, old teacher of mine a while back, he’s great.
really great video and NICE microphones with those AT's.
These videos are so fucking great! Easy to follow, great comparisons, great understanding of why and right to the point! Thank you!
I might want one of those ATM 450s for my hats soon. What do they run about?
Have you guys got any advice on stopping snare drum bleed through the HIGH Hat Microphone?

Sure just don’t follow this video’s advice 😂 Follow a mic-ing technique that points the hat mic *away from* the rest of the kit
I was wondering what type of paiste hi hats these ones are? they sound really great!!
AUDIO TECHNICA HAAAS YOUUUUUU COVEREDDDD!
xD
Un demo de sus micros debe ser con unos hats promedio. Ustedes usaron unos de los mejores que han existido, por eso el sonido es tan bueno.
damn that ending was cheesy :3
hope he got paid a lot extra for that
Yeah, not sure where the Velveeta came from. Good information though.
great mic video though
I dig the transitions from 1996 but not the haircut
Literally opposite advice than everyone else giving hi hat placement and direction tips.
Hmmmmm 🤷♂️
