The filly I raised from birth 1970 has so many of these horses in her pedigree ( sired by Alkali Junior; out of the spirited bay mare of unknown origins that my father bought in 1969 "Rusty" supposedly age 6yrs but she was said to have had two foals already. Had a scar on her back from where a stallion bit her. Would LOVE to know where she came from/history). Fun to learn about QH background. Oh, and we were told Arthur Godfrey had owned the stud at one time. Any leads appreciated.
Ive thought about this the speaker mentions that its unlikey that steel dust sired as many foals as people claim...later u hear stories about how much effort people put into moving these horses is why i question just how often there were false claims of linage.
The only registered AQHA horse I had that I can remember the name of was , "Kings Rodeo Star" , had a registered sorrel mare but don't remember her name , my current horses are grade far as I'm aware.
What a shame that, at a time when 19th century primary source records are literally at our fingertips, they're still serving up the same old mid-20th cent. QH mythology.
Thank you for sharing

PZinTX please explain?
You have modern access to records but not the personal stories which gives you a full rich history of the quarter horse.
TROLL
Aqha needs to care more about the ranch.
