I’ve had banana pups not make it through the winter, so I dig them up. Do you have a Blue Java? Mine will probably be too big and I will have to chop it to put it into my greenhouse next year.
About your Sumatrana x cross I suspect it hasn’t grown since digging it out every year “resets” it I’ve have bananas grow from inches to more that 5 feet in their first year

The only ones I protect her in North Cal is gran nain the others do fine it the freezes no matter what size

Yes, they are less cold hardy than namwah but way more than grand nain yours is big enough to leave outside
