I've been listening to Anberlin since 2004. They have been my favourite band since then and got me through many tough times. But the toughest time they got me through was my pregnancy with my daughter. I was considering adoption, as my husband and I were separated and he didn't want another child. I had picked a family and thought I was doing the right thing. One afternoon, I heard "You Belong Here" for the first time, and during that song was the first time I felt her kick, and I knew that regardless of my marriage, she was mine, she was my family, and she was meant to be with me. My husband and I got back together (we're separated again now), and we named her Anberlin. She just turned 3 years old two weeks ago. Keeping her with us was the best choice ever. I'm just sad that she'll never get to see her namesake live.
"Never take friendship personal" was the best album, I hope the new album has alot of songs like it did. It had the feel good drag, the runaways, paperthin hymn, A day late, and never take friendship personal.

In spring 2015 i was in San Diego listening to Anberlin all the time. There was this girl. I fell in love pretty quickly, within days actually. We spent about 3.5 weeks in california, then I travelled to canada on my own as planned long before. Only met her once since then, wasn't the same anymore. Tho these were some of the best days of my life. Listening to Anberlin now makes me remember every detail.

I love them so much...To Bad they aren't coming to San Francisco for their final tour. I got the pleasure of seeing them back to back for my birthday 2 years in a row. My favorite band ever!! Best wishes for all the great times these guys have given us.

Nah man. You have Cities, and two albums trying to be cities (Dark is the way and new surrender). Anberlin are best when pushing forward. Vital was so good because of that, and this is going to follow.
Michael Sweeney Definitely wouldn't call Dark Is The Way ''Cities Sounding". I thought that album they pushed for a more ''radio rock'' sound but then turned back on that and created Vital, which is in my opinion their best work. I basically meant they should have written their last album, not to try and push new ground musically but to give one final gif to their fans that have been with them for the whole journey by going back to their ''pop-rock'' sound. It's gonna rule anyway man :)
Michael Sweeney I don't think you can say that DITWLIAP was trying to be cities. New Surrender was similar though, but tended to be more poppy, less of a rock song, and lyrically it wasn't as deep as the other work they've done. Stephen partially blamed having to be under a big record label for it.
Damn they're just the best - the epic sound and feel we've grown to love. Forever underappreciated but forever my favorite. Can't wait to send them off with a bang on the final tour. Sorry this is ending, but I wish them the best in life as I cherish their music for the rest of mine.
