I started DJing 6 months ago and this is the same controller I use. Just did my 1st wedding and wedding reception last week and i rocked the hell out of it.
Yayyyy!!! I started with a DDJSB3 and a DDJ-400 4 years ago. Played a big electronic music festival this year in my city. This week I pick up my XDJ-XZ as a congrats for the progress from a 10yr-old laptop and starter controller. Keep it up!
I'm about to invest in CDJ's after DJ'ing for 8 years. I literally spent the first 5+ years on CHEAP stuff, and mastered it to the ground. Hands down the best way to do it, keep crushing it 🔥
I started out with my LaunchPad Mkii and Virtual DJ back in 2017 and then in 2018 I had a genuine interest in DJing and got the Pioneer DDJ - 400 ( At the time one of the best, if not the best beginner / intermediate controller in the market ), after I hit my skill cap on that controller after a few years I switched to the Pioneer DDJ - 1000 RB and have been enjoying it a lot. It helped me make some crazy performance sets that I cud play at events and got me familiarized with the club standard setup. As long as u progress without giving up any investment is a great investment !
We got bedroom DJs just learning to beat match with 4 CDJ 3000s and a v10. That's $15k worth of gear.... it's insane. We have "gatekeeper" DJs that breed this, "if you want to be a real DJ then you need to learn on the Industry Standard gear" mentality.
I do 4 deck sets on a ddj200, rekordbox and an old HP laptop, with no headphones (my q points are on point ;) coz of where I am and I don't care if I get that shxt robbed and - more importantly - coz it annoys the hell out of my best mate! I'd still take a few grands worth of dj gear tho if anyone's offering it. Hope you're good. ✌
@@aptmix He quickly doubles the track and puts it on to the other side of the deck I think some peeople just like having their active song on one side of the board. Preference.

You can DJ with a phone nowadays (as long as you have the right cable). I am more curious where you found an 84$ laptop that works well enough to manage the DJ library and software.
Hes doing completely random shit up until his transition. Im not familiar with that controller but on mine you cant switch your song thats on channel 2 straight to channel 1, which is what he did if anything he has done makes sense.
For any beginners in here looking for a fiest controller, i cant speak to pioneer's other offerings but at this price point id strongly consider the roland dj-202, its a very good controller with a built in sequencer.
Why do you have the volume down on the right turntable, and the fader to the left? There’s no reason.. and it looks like you’re being overly busy. Sounds good though. Maybe it’s a latency in the video vs audio on the computer’s screen doesn’t match your turntables. Until the end.. So it could be right. Maybe it’s just me.
Someone told me last week that this is bad advice and that you should spend loads, but I don't agree. Sometimes you simply do not have the resources and you have to start small. This is something that develops organically at times.
I have been a DJ for 17 years and I do same exact thing. The left side is "the live party" (what the crowd hears) the right side is my "strong hand" (the crowd hears this side slightly as I blend/scratch, but once the song is done transitioning it's back to the left) so I bring in every song from the right (scratch, beat match, tricks etc with my strong hand) some DJs can or choose to try both. It is so much simpler to have one strong hand you work with all night and one side you know that the dance floor always hears, that way you never forget what deck you are live on. Trust me you will get distracted by drunk requests, women, club owners, party goers, other DJs wanting to speak with you etc.... I hope this helps. I wish you all the best!
It’s not like 10 years ago.controllers are a lot better and have all the fundamentals . Gotta master timing and counts before you try getting fancy with effects and stems
Yes, you can use this controller, ddj rev 1 with djay app on iOS (mobile phones) and iPad os. It will not work with Android as of today. The new Pioneer flx 4 will with with the new upcoming rekordbox app on Android, iOS, iPad os early 2023. Hope this helps.
@@pep9716 shite bro. I like this frikkin Rev thing. Hope that pioneer will be in the price range. I was thinking that if a tablet ran windows os it could run the Rev controller.
