Can be hard as a commentator (and angry coach) to not focus on the mistakes that even top players make while casting. Didn't have that problem here, this is top notch SC2 all around - even the small mistakes end up balancing out in a really fun series. Thanks for watching
When I saw the thumbnail with 50 cannons I expected a viewer submitted game. I thought "nice, finally someone´s using the same strategies and has the same issues like I did when I still played. I can´t be the only one constantly missing the point where I should have stopped building cannons in the cannonrush."
Crazy to me that Protoss players are actually learning better Protoss strategies from watching Reynor lol. Reynor seems to have single handedly changed the way Motherships are used as more of a Zerg Queen type unit to watch over bases and as another recall instead of just sending it to its death with the army as soon as it spawns
I think it's more of "Harstem showed Reynor, Reynor perfected it, everyone noticed". I mean, it's not that easy to figure out whether a playtime has potential or not. But then a top-5 player picks it up and flashes it around while off-racing - ofc everyone notices and decides to give it a go! Not hating on Reynor or anything btw, I absolutely love him switching it up and making it so fun for the fans.
the archon "ability" you mentioned from the cinematic is actually them imploding from overflowing power and taking the ultra with them. the second an archon is formed, they are doomed to die a violent death soon after. its supposed to be a last resort move in the lore, although you wouldnt be able to tell from how the game plays lol
Wow, game 2, I've never SEEN that in a pro game before; an army being recalled out in 2 halves, with no mothership, both by Nexus Recall, and somehow neither half gets intercepted or harassed.
My jaw dropped when I saw that, I mean of course Dark is the one to pull it off….but still, imagine the sheer amount of reaction time, awareness and skill to clutch a game like that at the absolute highest level 😮
Random mechanic changes I would love to see. ultras should be able to walk over most units, except maybe archons, thors, queens, and infestors, also they should be able to walk over spines and spore crawlers. Also would love to see any protoss unit with shield be immune to storm and statis, and recall instantly again as long as their shield is still up
With the new RTS games coming out, I find that the biggest reason Starcraft II is still the n1 undisputed RTS is its Distinctiveness . The game models are simply distinctive. You know that a Reaper is a Reaper , a marine is a marine and a marauder is a marauder when you see them . Even though they share a very similar model, you know a stalker and a Colossus apart . In other RTS , you get units like "Pikeman" and "Spearman" and the only difference in model is that one is a human with a pike and another has a spear ... Or there's these various roundish blobs of something, with a little height difference between them calling themselves different units .
I'm pretty surprised you said the Protoss were just evil energy balls I always had the impression they were actually a very smart, very highly developed race and yes, I think they have bodies because they port their warriors like zealots back before they die u can see that in the „dead“ animations of the protoss too ❤ protoss and zerg is just lovely
It's how the races are designed. I can ask the same question: how can P have 3 bases against Z's 5 bases and still have an equal army supply? Because Z is fast to build and cheap, but weak and inefficient. P units are strong and cost-effective, but slow to build and expensive. Z needs to mine more because they will lose more units and resources in each fight. This also means they need more bases, but it's harder to protect 5-7 bases than 3-4 bases. So you end up constantly expanding, losing bases and re-expanding again.
Did winter only start his whole Sc2 RUclips gig for years all to work up to the joke “ the ultra is the biggest unit in the game except for your mother on a ship.” Epic
When I was a kid back in the Brood War days, the local internet cafe would setup these all race “tournaments” every month. You and your opponent could ban one race, order was decided after a coin toss. You could choose map order or first ban pick if you won. I was a sneaky lil bastard, I played protoss in the neighbourhood to trick people into banning that. Actually though I secretly visited my uncle, the guy who introduced me to SC, on the other side of town and mained terran. 😂 Jesus, that was back in 2001-2002, I’m fucking old!
Look at Showtime's leftover resources (in the thousands) and Reynor's leftover resources (barely three digits). Protoss rebuilds slower than zerg, sure, but Reynor can't even rebuild at all with what he has left.
Wouldn't be better in first game if Reynor just tried to use Link with the infestors on the tempests in the bottom side? He was getting wrecked by them, corropturs plus the link should have cleaned them easly
Jesus fuck, a top-15 player goes head-to-head with a top-5 player for an hour, and you're still balance whining. so carriers are still broken. when do we remove the fleet beacon?
"broken". Lol. If a Zerg is using queens in front of your base they're either all-inning or you've done a terrible job of keeping the creep contained. Which is exactly what happened. Queen transfusion is as broken as medivac healing and shield battery replenishment. It ain't...

thanks you for casting, i would never discover sc2 without you
show us Jimmy!
I just bought your announcer thing for my game in sc2. When you announce "welcome to bronze league heroes" at the start of games I laugh every time 😂
Winter, you should really consider becoming a professional Brenda impersonator. Love the bits! Can't ever gen enough of Brenda and her knitting crew.
you're cute af
"Ultralisks are the largest meat shields in the game... since we put your mother on a ship" amazing casting

I can´t be the only one constantly missing the point where I should have stopped building cannons in the cannonrush."
It's playing like a elite ladder game
Sometimes... there's never enough cannons... 🤣🤌
are we certain this isnt professional bronze league heroes?
why do people like only building cannons? You dont actually build the units or go up the tech tree so how are you having any fun?
Photon cannons are the marines of Protoss.

"More Gates than your body has room for!". Wow that's a deep cut and a wonderful coincidence. I just re watched the Power Thirst videos last week!
"Get Off My Creep" - can I get that in a t-shirt? LOL
_"gEeEeEeT oFf My CrEeEeEeP!"_
We love Brenda lol
That zealot/forcefield/statis attack in game 1 was one of the coolest pushes I've ever seen in sc2, so slick of Showtime there
Killing just the hatch and immediately recalling with barely any losses... so good
5:18 what a beautiful engagement! I especially loved the recall. It's rare to see it used so tactically, instead of a panic button.

6:56 "Expect the expected!"
Top-notch casting. Thanks for bringing the appropriate energy to match the exciting games, Winter!
Great SC2 content the casting and narration with sarcastic jokes is great. Very entertaining. Keep up the good work and the content coming

“Protoss are just angry balls of energy” exquisite commentary lol
I feel like the one where dark won with a solitary infestor at the end is the best so far.
Hands down.
This was good, but that was something special.

@@peterk2735 its not like it was an early 15 unit match either.
They had depleted the whole map.
Amazing stuff
Which one was that?

Biblically accurate Protoss in game one.
"Storm me brother." Got me
And so it begins. Can’t wait to see the contenders for game of the year. This is gonna be a good one
Thanks!

S2 will be falling soon once the RTS' that have yet to fully release come out.
Blizzard will regret abandoning it.
you probably dont know about Beyond All Reason then.

good content buddy you've improved greatly :)
How can Zerg lose 15 bases to 2 Protoss bases and still keep it a close game

@@kathorsees Protoss units maybe strong but useless against a maxed out Zerg army. Corruptors and vipers and pick out units and wipe them in a second
@@Nobunaga1983Ironically you can check out Reynor playing Protoss and beating a maxed out Serral ultra late game army right here on this channel
Can't fight protoss when they flaunt massive energy balls.
And, even worse, they hit you with those balls, and you're hurt while they're not. Fucking aliens, it's all upside down with them.

Good match! Excellent Spellcaster, I mean, caster

I want to see a random only tournament, that would be interesting. The chance of winning is 33% based on luck.

That was some quite excellent Mothership usage in the first game.

23:00 what happened? I thought ShowTime lost here, since he barely managed to not lose his army and protoss rebuilds slower than zerg.

Just don’t fight them on creep? Better yet, any transfuse you make them waste helps stop that creep spread. 😱
