A sad and poignant video but I couldn’t help but watch, it brought back so many happy memories. A non-league ground in many ways but unique and with a unique atmosphere on match days. And it played host to arguably the greatest success story of all time in English football.

New Plough Lane Stadium was then built by fans and was ready for 2020. A true story of the old becoming the new and our never say die spirit. Stood on those very terraces as a teenager in the 1980s. Great times. AFC Wimbledon might be very interested in this footage for historical purposes, a real window on the past here.

So many great memories of this place. Loved this stadium so much and do miss it. Hope the new stadium has the same feel about it.

Have so many fond childhood memories of that place. Watched them all, the great Liverpool team of the 80s, George Graham's Champions getting beat by a late Mickey Bennet goal, Fergies Man Utd before they were dominating. £4 on the turnstile - Wonderful times. Kids today will never ever have that.

I used to love going to that old ground that i was born within a mile of. Lots of happy memories there for me between the ages of 10 and 27. It might have only been a non league standard stadium, but it was ours and I still miss it now. Spartanwomble signing off.

I went there in 1990/91 season to watch United play Wimbledon. I think wdd we won 3-1. So sad to see it in that state. It should be a crime for any football ground to end up like that.

still think that there could of been a new stadum built on that ground main stand had space behind so did the home wnd and the away end was huge , only problem was along plough lane but still could of built a small seated stand along the road...easy 20,000 stadium problem was samm hamman was massiively tight

didnt help that the main stand and the south stand were really short surely the main stand and behind the goal could of easily been rebuilt bigger both had room behind them, qpr had the same issue but managed to build a 2 tiered stand and so did brentford

@@intunewithcars9484 the 2-2 with Hughes & Robins was 30/12/89, the week before his supposed job-saving win at Forest in the cup.
United lost 0-1 there in his 4th or 5th game in charge (29/11/86) - Vinny Jones scored on his home debut

@@mct1970 yes, btw united was very lucky in that 2-2 as alan cork put wimbledon 2-0 up but it was scratched off for a very dabatible offside, both united goals came after that within 1 minute, to make it 2-1 then wimbledon equalised, wimbledon was the much better team that day and imo vinny jones outplayed bryan robson
