Worth noting, this truck could be hand crank started. I drove a 1964 up and back on the Alcan Highway in 1979. On the way back the starter pinion gear came apart. Fortunately I had the factory supplied crank handle in its hanger behind the seat. I hand crank started it all the way home from Alaska and for months afterwords until I was able to find a replacement starter for it. The 320 truck was ok for its day, but it was slow and the mileage was poor compared to later offerings. I loved it!
@@danbasta3677 I tend to agree with you. I think the best of the bunch was the 1978. I had one of those for many years. The 1964 was narrow and slow. Mine had the 4-speed on the column, which was nice. Originally came with the 1200 engine but was upgraded to the 1300. Slow and not really that good of mileage. But we still loved it.
I spent a little time in S.E. Asia 30 years ago. They did everything that we do with F350 chassis cabs. It was not usual to see things like school buses on the little Japanese chassis! The roads were twisty one-lanes full of goats, chickens, and people. Going fast was not a priority! On an even smaller scale, It saw Honda CT90 motorcycles doing the same things.
Big Island here in Hawaii still has plenty of goat-induced traffic jams, chickens (and turkeys) crossing the road all nice and orderly like kids going to school (or mongoose sneaking across like they just stole something) with the occasional donkey or pig to keep things interesting. So if you'd like to relive the old days, there is a place for you here in the Pacific!
Thanks for taking a look dwayner...I wasn't prepared to do a video on that 320 and was digging deep to remember everything I could....cool car, though.

I'll give you a dollar for that crank handle no prob.
I didn't much care for the looks of them. Prefered the 520 and 620 series Datsun trucks much better.

Prefered the 520 and 620 series trucks much better in looks than these ones. The 320 just didn't do anything for me.
