- Orbital Fugitive Begins! Day 1 No Man's Sky Orbital Update
This is the Orbital fugitive run in No Man's Sky. I wake up a wanted fugitive on a random planet. I must escape this galaxy in order to be safe, but without being found. That means I must find crashed ships and equipment or buy them from other fugitives ( outlaws ) If I talk to or interact with normal aliens then I will be found. And if I travel to new systems with a registered ship then I will be found.
The Orbital Fugitive Rules
- Game Mode: Permadeath on Extreme Difficulty (All Sliders set to max)
- Disable Tutorial: Only way to get Warp-drive Blueprint
- NO Cheating: No Duping, Glitching or Save Scumming
- Starter Ship is off limits: The Starter ship is broken but also being watched and thus can not be used or has any value. But to avoid having the Starter ship in your List for the whole run, you can Exchange it with a Crashed ship you find. That way you do not earn any Units from it.
- Must Build A Ship For Travel To New Systems
- Can Enter Normal Space Stations BUT Must Change Appearance and Ship Upon Leaving.
- Only Interactions Allowed On Normal Space Stations Are Limited To Reactor Cores and Ship Builder. Must Leave System After Exiting To Avoid Being Caught.
- Can NOT follow story lines (Incl. can not obtain resources or blueprints from story lines)
- Can NOT use Teleporters!
- Can NOT visit Anomaly - Ariadne's Imposter reports back to Galactic Authorities.
- Avoid the Galactic Network
Fugitives Must Avoid the Galactic Network - Can NOT land or interact with:
- Trade Posts
- Planetary Archives
- Buildings (outposts, observatories, shelters, transmission towers, facilities, etc)
- Galactic trade terminals
- Freighters (Can not own one as well).
Allowed interactions:
- All Outlaw Interactions Allowed, Including Space Stations
- Abandoned Buildings: Can Land at and Use
- Abandoned System Stations: Can Land in and use them, but have to leave the system immediately after exiting the Station.
- Planetary Portal: Can use it to travel only after collecting minimum 5 of the 16 Glyphs.
- Base Building: But only in Outlaw, Empty and Abandoned Systems and MUST be in a Cave!
- Uploading Discoveries: NMS Servers are not considered part of the Galactic Network
Additional Rules:
- Outlaw Stations Will Never Report You, All Interactions Allowed ( No Teleporter Use )
- After attacking Freighters and surrounding cargo pods, you need to leave the system immediately.
- The only way to travel to different systems or the next galaxy is with custom built ships.
Breaking a Rule
(even if it is a mistake): You have to scrap your current ship and everything in it and also scrap the items you got from scrapping it.
Once the ship is scrapped you have to engage sentinels and destroy a Sentinel Dreadnaught to escape from the system.

I bought No Man's Sky on pre-order in 2016 and my computer had the hardware that would not run it at launch. In fact, I couldn't play the game until 2018, when I changed computers. For nearly that entire time I have followed your videos on No Man's Sky and your voice is nearly synonymous with No Man's Sky to me. I just wanted to thank you for the years of videos and your exceptional hard work.
I wish you'd reconsider a play through with a Pirate Freighter. I'd love to see how you would build it.

Just thought about this, you will probably need 4 ships because it won't let you salvage all your ships. You always have to have one. So you'll need 3 to salvage parts and one left until you build the new one.
Jason a psvr2 is worth every penny no man sky is one of the best selling vr games and when you put the VR headset on it will blow your mind there no gfx lost fps is at the top with no frame drop. Get it as present to your self, just one note buy a head strap to take the pressure from your head. I've never felt motion sickness in Noman sky. It's also worth going in VR option turn on smooth motion and turn clicks. To smooth.

A useful way i found to get money early on is to go to a outlaw system and break the storage containers on the big ships. You can get like 2-3 per ship if your lucky

I actually play NMS on my steam deck constantly, and I keep 60 fps on the highest detail. I’ve had no issues, except for a slight stutter when exiting a planets atmosphere or leaving a teleport animation!!
Hey Jason I have a challenge for you! You should done a Gordon Ramsay Challenge where the goal is you have to make 1 million units by only cooking food. You can use any method you want! The rules are you can only make money buy cooking or selling ingredients.

Maybe if you fail to leave from a regular space station in some amount of time you should get some penalty for that.
So, how does this challenge treat sentinel ships, since they aren’t tracked by the authorities? Also, would you consider scouring corrupted planets to find the outposts that allow you to take sentinel multi tools as an approach to getting an upgrade, since you can’t buy them from most sources except for outlaw systems?

Just completed it . The hard part was getting parts but I managed it built a red fighter and warped
So just started my Orbital Fugitive run and so far I've bought a blackmarket traders ship, found a grave site and got a glyph AND an advance laser(is that what one usually gets from this? 2nd one I've found on a FR and got the same thing) Now was forced down by pirates and just happened to land next to a "wild" base computer. So what am I allowed to do here?
So i need to ask, do I have a bug or is my rng shafting me in that every one of the 5 ships I found have been the exact same shuttle, even with me claiming them with the intent to scrap for money while looking for ship parts

Also, one last question, but I don’t know if you were aware of this. Did you know that anytime you come across damaged machinery, there is a guranteed damaged tech within abt 20 meters? 😊
They don’t show up when you scan unless you’re standing right next to them, contrary to the behavior of normal buried tech.
I came up with a mod to the fugitive run that I call the Rogue Agent run. All the same rules but you must make it to the Eissentam galaxy and then you're free. I've completed it once, took me about 40hrs. The grind after the grind of making that first galaxy jump is actually pretty fun but of course to get to that point you have to complete this run. Then you're warping around looking for moons to search for monoliths. Rinse and repeat 10x. I hope someone else tries this.
This is also my current goal, got lucky and found like 3-4 monoliths on one moon in this first run so dropped a save beacon on one for l8r. Now I just got to setup a base in a pirate system find an intercepter ship and find the 5 glyphs and will start head to centre of galaxy after that, have found 2 glyphs so far also have to find myself a vykeen dagger once I'm ready.
