Not related to this video, but since this is your latest production I'm posting my comment here...
Please consider doing a video about the advantages of and how to install Adguard on a Qnap Nas along with what is how to use the container station that you'll need prior to Adguard! Thanks.
I've bought this NAS and installed it in my mechanical room where it's generally cooler. The nas runs at about 36C and fans run a 5000rpm. It's not that noisy for me. Perfectly reasonable.
Also, qvr pro seems avaibale from the app center. I have not installed it and went for the elite instead because I only have 2 cameras, but it looks like I could install the pro version instead if i wanted to.
Plex runs great as long as I disable transcoding.
Love this little beast of a nas, even with it's limitation. I was going for its synology equivalent originally but the 2 Gb ram non upgradable limitation made me select this one instead. No regrets.
If you just want reliable scalable storage, then this is an ideal solution. As for security, backups are essential. Fault tolerant storage is not enough to protect your data.
I agree with your statement. With all statements! ARM. If Intel it would be the best NAS System overall.
Can you run zfs on this
Thank you for the review! If someone can’t accept the weakish CPU what’s the most similar model to this NAS, with the most similar specs and a more beastly CPU?
@@QNAPUK Thank you
Unfortunately, ATM as I found out, there is unresolved random disconnect with SMB/NFS shares on this platform. Thus despite looking promising, I gave up and starting analysing Intel based platforms instead...
I have now this exact issue on my synology so want to switch for this QNAP. can u tell more about this issue?
Does it have the ability to run TrueNAS Scale/Core?
No. It's an ARM based processor. TNS / TNC require an x86 Processor.
QNAP you should never buy. They do not take security seriously - I have had to replace so many QNAP devices because of being hacked / slow updates to patch / lack of support for customers.
